Lasse Larsen I believe under reptilians animals don't really feel "pain" as we do. Every time you see a fish or an insect suffering it really seems like they don't care, they react in a totally different way. There is this thing of feeling more related to species "closer" to you, especially the ones that humanity has tamed and you know you can get feelings from. It's a totally different thing having a cat and a pig for example. You can feel attached to the pig as much as you want, but it's not even close to be arguable that cats have more impact on your psyche with their behaviour/lifestyle etc. That's the reason a lot of people like you believe that others acting selective is a bad thing or lack of understanding. It is to a certain degree, but past that we're all humans and will converge to the same result with enough effort. There's also the way these animals reproduce, seeing hundreds of little turtles crawling into the sea is different from a single chick, if you add the considerations of how parenthood works and how their life is built around their children. Many species just don't care, you just can't relate to them and thus feel disconnected. These and many other reasons make it so that we feel attached to only some, and this isn't a fault. You should quit fighting this useless crusade
