Hi guys, Thank you so very much for this video, really shows the area well. A quick note regarding the spoil penguins, we did send him back to sea a few days after you came. He wasn't ready on this particular night but the call of the wild was here and same as the other one he went straight out ^-^ Thanks again from Pohatu's Little penguins.

Haha, happy to hear that he left the nest. Teenagers can hang around for WAY TOO LONG. Glad you liked the video and thanks again for some awesome evenings :)

Okay legit question: When in Akaroa, you drive up the road, up the hill, to get to the Akaroa heads. THEN.... halfway there... The road changes to a dirt road and there is a warning sign saying 4WD vehicles only (visible in this vid at 2:34). The road also becomes narrow, looks like single lane. I went there a few months ago with the intent of flying the drone around the akaroa heads only to discover the sign. Since my car is not 4WD and I got my previous car stuck on a 4WD road I did not go up. Do you think it is wise not to take the chance on this road with a 2wd? also, this single lane road to the akaroa heads, are there many places to turn around or overtake other vehicles? I want to go there and fly the drone but I'm just afraid to drive up that road.

we're a bit iffy driving on this kind of road too so we were pretty happy that the guide drove us there. Their van is 4WD so I could not tell you how a 2WD would handle that road. Maybe rent a 4WD for the day just to be safe?

Not surprised that a hand fed penguin will not go to the wild
