I only play zombies. I haven't played multi-player since ghost. You start realizing that every year or two, a new cod comes out and it's not worth the grind time and time again. I enjoy the zombies because it's one and done and that's it. There's not much grinding, your just playing for fun and not to be better than others.

Also, Treyarch has cared to innovate on each zombies. World at war is different from Bo1. Bo 1 is greatly different from Bo 2, specially towards the end with Mob of the Dead and Origins. Bo 3 is insanely different from Bo 2. Same goes with Bo 3 to Bo 4, when they even changed the perk system entirely. And lastly, Cold War was also greatly different and innovated on the things it had to innovate while keeping the core mechanics. I have not played Bo 6 yet, but I've seen things like the player being able to transform into a zombie boss. You could argue that it is a positive or negative addition, however, you gotta respect Treyarch for atleast trying to innovate on each zombies game ever since they started doing them. That is majorly the complete opposite with Multiplayer, you can show me different cod's multiplayer(specially the recent ones) and they will look extremely similar.

I personally do have a love/hate relationship with zombies. I hate that it’s not closer to BO3 Zombies with the classic feel, but I love that you can get weapon progression on guns inside zombies. If you hit a new level and unlock a gun but you have zero attachments with it you can either spent some time in multiplayer with a nerf gun. Or take it into a zombies game and pack a punch it and make it gold, get to a high round using mainly that new gun and get it to like level 20ish then jump back into multiplayer and you’ll have that brand new gun with a bunch of decent attachments off the bat. Instead of getting slapped around in multiplayer for an hour trying to get a vertical grip and scope on your new gun

Original Shi No Numa and Der Riese are two of my favorite maps, but they’re more enjoyable in BO3 because BO3 enhanced the experience but didn’t make it too easy. My issue with new zombies is it’s basically just a camp grinder invincibility simulator. It’s way too easy and hand hold-y.

List of Online Cods I Played In Order: 1. cold war 2. mw (2019) 3. bo2 4. bo4 5. mw2 (2022) 6. ww2 7. bo3 8. bo6 9. infinite warfare Bo6 is good, but it's pretty bad compared to most cods in my opinion. I'd give it a solid 6 out of 10 (for just the multiplayer). The loadouts and weapons are mid, and the maps are bad. The movement is good, but most of the maps are way too small meaning they are chaotic and the spawns get flipped often. It's like they decided to make the whole game feel like shipment.

@@DE-4AULT I never played online for og mw2-3 or advanced warfare, but the campaigns for mw3 and aw were hella fun. Mw2 survival mode was goated too. Bo3 multiplayer was good, but I played it a bit too long after it came out so servers were pretty much dead, and the campaign was mid. But zombies was hella peak on that game. In terms of modern mechanics and how much fun I had, mw19 and Cold War are my favorite for sure, but if we’re are going off of nostalgia, then bo2.

I've been playing it from gamepass. Not touched the multiplayer, just the campaign - I'm really enjoying it. The missions feel a little more open than past campaigns, couple more choices, and exploration feels more rewarding. The blacklight in the house occupied me for an hour alone figuring all the puzzles out.

We spawncamped an entire clan on subsonic in hardcore hardpoint until they quit because the game spawned them within knife distance to us. All because we had one guy hang back while the rest of us rushed. We all had a 20+k/d before they quit. It's awfully boring. I think the problem with sbmm is the connotation that ‘ranked’ will be sweaty no matter what, when really it should just be ‘your skill level’. If they put up a ‘do you want to learn, or do you want to be thrown in the deep end?’ type message, I think it would be much better. Getting stomped is an opportunity to learn how to get better, people just don’t want to put in the work. Also, the average player is just better today than the average player 10 years ago.

It isn't a joke that these are the worst maps in COD history. I cannot find a single one that isn't at best slightly tolerable, and at worst I hate every single one with the burning fury of a thousand George Foreman Grills. The maps have zero flow, you get shot at every single time you move, most people are just laying down in corners. But the pistols are good. Really good. And you can use Overkill to equip two of them. Or four with Akimbo. It makes it hard to hate this game.

Of the current CoDs, think I’ll stick with 2019 MW if I want to play multiplayer or if I want to play some kind of CoD. I’ve seen playthroughs of the new MWII and MWIII campaigns, and 2019 MW is still the better campaign imo. I’ve yet to see a campaign playthrough of BO6, but if I were to get it, I'd get it for the zombies.

Thank you for bringing up skill based matchmaking, its the reason i quit moden call of duty. Its so unreasonable that they themselves not just halo had it figured out and it was perfect but they decide to just fuck over the players and quite literally rig the game against them. Then whenever the cod community says they dont want sbmm in fucking casual games they gaslight the community saying it actually helps. It might help a few no thumb timmys stay around but anyone who can hold their own is sick of it. Put it in ranked where it belongs i dont get why it has to be in a casual game mode its so dumb.

It's crazy how much the community has cried and complained and told them SBMM is a problem, and because they sunk so much money into their algorithm they simply cannot justify to themselves to delete it. They can also fluff up the vocabulary of what 'sbmm' is and pitch it to investors as a positive - giving false validation to the investors as to where their money is going. Truly sad, every game with SBMM has the majority of the community complaining about it and they gasilght everyone to pretend that it's actually a positive.

I enjoyed the campaign, pretty good. The last 30% sucked, including the ending. I don’t enjoy multiplayer anymore because of sbmm and how sweaty it is, and this multiplayer is basically MW3 all over again. The multiplayer lacks that Black Ops feel which sucks, including the maps feeling like scrapped MW2/MW3 maps that were too bad for those games. The zombies is the star of the game and it’s really good so far, and I’m excited for the maps they’ll add into zombies.

MW3 seemed like Sledghammer really gave it their best shot with multiplayer but the campaign and zombies was so horrible so there was no way I was buying. There are certain games where SBMM is required even in casual. For example fortnite. If a tryhard comes to fight you you will learn NOTHING you will see walls constructed around you and then a pump shotgun after a build edit. But games like COD where the only difference in skill is movement and accuracy then SBMM isn't exactly necessary.

Runescape and Halo 2 mentioned! Currently grinding agility in OSRS. Halo 2 and Halo 3 had the best matchmaking system. Separation of casual and ranked modes is the way. SBMM is trash. It’s designed for player retention and winning is rigged to average 50/50 win loss ratio if you solo que.
