The skill creep on apex has been ludicrous over the past few years. The bronze lobbies are harder than diamond and the qp matches are more sweaty. I just wish we had a new fast paced arena shooter instead of BRs. I want 6-9 different guns at once instead of only 2 at a time and they all function pretty much the same. Doesn't help that controller players and mouse players are in the same matches. Literally playing a different game against each other

So why did they get rid of shield swapping but didn't get rid of upgrading shields automatically after breaking someone else's shield in the middle of a gunfight. That seems way more broken than shield swapping.

They didn't. You can still swap shields mid-fight to get more shield. The only difference the current system has in comparison to the other one is that you have to work in order to get better shields, you can't just third-party and get purple of of someone else's work or just get randomly lucky and get better shields.

@mementomori3665 that's part of the looting system tho. They should've gotten rid of the automatic upgrades mid fight, there's no in-game logic for that to take place besides making the easier for casuals

It's perfectly balanced dude, also when you upgrade shields mid fight you don't immediately get the shield, you get an empty socket and need to use a cell or battery first for it to actually be helpful midfight . So if you lose a gun fight , you can't use that as an excuse

@@fourscore1964 They figured that shouldn't be part of the game anymore. That's good, since it keeps the game fresh and forces a more agressive playstyle, which is the entire reason one plays Apex. Evo-shields always upgraded mid-fight and they still do. You don't get any additional HP for advancing to the next tier, you still need to heal it first. I think you're portraying something wrong here.

Most of this game is running around picking things. For a combat focused BR with different character abilities, maps are just too big. Either that or the ring has to shrink faster but I'd prefer smaller maps.
