I'm positive you guys have no clue that police are deciding to back off and not pursue dangerous evasion techniques. Police training is incredibly lack-luster, but vehicle training is a different story. Most departments train in their lots doing maneuvers every month and make it mandatory for every officer to attend and pass tests. Too many people have died due to incompetent driving from police in the past, so it's one of the few things most US police are very well trained in. They absolutely knew his obvious moves, and did the right thing to not push the pursuit to be more dangerous. Just as a source, I did ECU tuning for my city's LEO high-pursuit vehicles for a few years, I got to attend their training seminars on numerous occasions and even got to participate. You'd be surprised that most of the techniques used were avoidance and de-escalation. The PIT-maneuver (TVI) is a last-resort technique for an era before learning that de-escalation works 99% of the time. BSR Inc. that came up with the technique have been sued numerous times over the unsafe used of TVI. Even they have denounced the use of it in the last few years.

In Houston, we had a car chase where the police pulled off, but a lone tow truck kept following the guy for the entire police chase. When the police finally swarmed him, the tow truck was there ready to tow the vehicle.

Shit tow trucks drive like that dude in the video everyday in Houston. I'm surprised they haven't killed a few people with their shenanigans!
@ScottMStolz2 жыл бұрын
For context, they were following him in a police helicopter and a news helicopter, and the guy did slow down when the police cars pulled off. So the tow truck just casually followed him the whole way.

They need to because the streets is so tight in Houston☠️

You never go an surround a house or a bank if you expect the suspect to leave it anyways. The reason behind that is that there is a high chance the suspect will take hostages once he realizes hes surrounded. The officers protected those people by not surrounding the property. This is acctually how they work/should work.

Good point that I didn't consider. Give the suspect a way out but have several units ready when they're guided into the "escape path"

@Abraham Johnathan thats true, but if thats the last resort for the criminal he will take hostages... So better not risk it and let him leave the building and not get others invilved.
@disposable31672 жыл бұрын
lol they were actually in the process of surrounding the house as he left. you can see them on all sides as hes pulling out.

@Abraham Johnathanyou’re forgetting one simple thing. Criminals are usually pretty dumb, and probably don’t know how ineffective taking hostages is.

I literally laughed out loud when you asked if the city would pay for the truck.
