As a Roblox Player myself, who frequents RP games you are extremely correct. Even games like Starship Roleplay: HCR-146 Emmissary (For Context, basically a Star Trek inspired Game.) or Neon District (Cyberpunk themed) Are usually swamped by these types of people. I've met a bunch of extremely interesting players with even more interesting characters, and then we have "Jacob/Angel/demon/god of creation/taken/engineer".

OP's pfp goes diagonally to the right and the lines look like they were drawn in Microsoft paint, as they're incredibly uneven and the colours are not as fairly distributed as yours. I also considered that they could have edited the original image. Really weird that we both ended up with something so similar though. Edit: May I also add that I made my pfp with a really specific color palette in mind (the colors are directly taken from specific characters). While it's not incredibly unbelievable that someone could have used a similar palette, the fact that the colors are arranged exactly the same way (just in a different direction) and in the same order is absolutely mind boggling.

I just have to say Roblox’s moderation is the equivalent of somebody looking at a blank page and deciding your fate off that. I once got a warning for making a slightly political joke with no real intention to be political. Then there are the people in servers bypassing the chat filter and shouting racial slurs, and in Roblox’s eyes, this is perfectly fine. My friend wanted to make a realistic game, and there was a female character in it. There was nothing sexual about this character or model, and his account - with $100 worth of Robux got banned. And also, they made voice chat where you have to put a driver’s license in to have it, and people can search up former president’s Brack Obama drivers license, and you can use it and Roblox will allow it. Then there are games like build a boat where you can make your creations in game, and people can make the p hub logo, and tell people to search up the website. It truly baffles me how kids can be safe on this website, a website with scammers, and other malicious people, while being safe. Anyways my rant about Roblox is over.

I played the game when I was younger, and came back once to check everything out, but it's always been bad. I've never been involved with the controversies, but I made the silent observation that the shop system was messed up. I play Fortnite, which I'll let you make fun of all day, but that's not the point. The items in that game are only sold by Fortnite itself, and have a pricing pattern based on rarity and types of items. Roblox, on the other hand, is dominated by items that are priced according to users, not the game itself. The problem here is as it was discussed in the video, many of the users are children who do not have a definite concept of money, prices, and stock.

I would just like to offer some counter points. 1 I know and have spoken to an actual roblox dev (The dude who created the roblox squid game) while roblox may be taking a large sum of the profits he himself stated that with only roughly 10,000 concurrent players on you can easily make more then enough money to live off of roblox alone (Upwards of 50,000). The creators of Jailbreak are millionares so you can't argue that roblox is taking so much of their money they still do pay and they pay enough that you can become wealthy off the platform. 2 Roblox is unique as a gaming company because unlike all other services like Steam and such they run your overhead. They maintain the game engine for you, pay for your servers, and run the overhead this costs money and that money is hard for roblox to make the entire platform is free almost all game are free and the player base is kids. What this means is that the paying audience is tiny for the size of actual users. In short roblox has been struggling to make profits and has already been taking losses every year to keep the platform going so their is a legitimate reason for them to be taking such a large share of the profits. I'm not defending roblox. I'm just sayiing their is another side of this picture and straight up vilifying them because of one report is rather dumb.

One of the big reasons catalog collectibles aren’t talked about is that they’re not very prevalent in today’s Roblox outside of a 1% of the 1%, if not smaller. Limiteds were a flex item that made your character stand out due to their uniqueness and the limited amount of accessory items Roblox had. Nowadays, since the development of the UGC, most limiteds have lost their uniqueness outside of the well known like valks or the ones with special effects like sparkles. Kids obviously like cool looking things over just being collectible, and as the UGC is making new highly detailed clothing items while limiteds continue to look more dated, less and less people flock to them anymore.

​@@yesyes-om1po 2012 was around the time trading began to explode in popularity on Roblox, with a game called "Trade Hangout" that dominated the BC-Only game section. Obviously, it still wasn't something everyone cared about, but there was a huge community around it as opposed to today. The game alone holds over 92 million visits, and half a million favorites, which is a very large amount for a game that was BC only, had little to do outside of trading, and was mainly relevant in a much smaller Roblox era compared to today. Everyone has a unique experience on Roblox, some people had more exposure to limiteds and limited trading on Roblox depending on what games and communities they involved themselves in, while some didn't. But statistically, it is undeniable that limited trading wasn't incredibly popular compared to today's standards. Now with the UGC, trade botting, limited bot sniping, the price gouging of limiteds, and so on, it has shrunk in size dramatically. I say this as someone that has been playing Roblox since 2008, my whole childhood, and was an active trader in that era.

Ever since the Ruben Sim lawsuit and the claims i started to raise an eyebrow to Roblox because of first, how stupid many of the claims were and two, that people haven’t really proved many of the following to be real. Also everyone know that Roblox had a grudge against him for exposing prior shady things they done in the past, not just the head of moderation. And this practically confirms my suspicion. Ruben was basically the catalyst of a series of ongoing events on Roblox going ahead and censor and extort anyone who brings up and exposes Roblox’s shady and even illegal tactics and things they have done before and still doing in their site and users. Because of course no shady and greedy company would ever want to be exposed of being shady and greedy. I hope Ruben wins the case, but with prior cases of similar incidents that occurred the chances are very slim, and so is our right to speak freely against Roblox. This will leave a dark precedent in our community and im sad for it.

So something that I think needs to be said is that while yes the outrageous prices on the roblox limited items gives a rough estimate of their worth, most of the time that is not their true value. Their true worth can be seen as the blue number you saw on the website Charlie was browsing. This value is called well, an items value; the green one was RAP or recent average price. So yes while these items are valuable, most people put them on sale like that just to joke around/flex. Also it is important to know that the robux one earns from trading on the roblox stock market is not eligible to be cashed out into real money through the developer exchange. It does not qualify under the terms roblox specified. If you were to think “oh well I’ll just sell the hat directly to someone,” you’d also be breaking roblox rules. This would constitute as (I forget the wording) an out of site transaction and is grounds for account termination. This is to discourage people from buying limiters from third party sites that squire said limited through shady practices, but I have personal suspicion this is also roblox getting upset about missing out on their cut.

It’s doesn’t help that Roblox’s toolbox dev tool is so corrupt. Me and my friends make games randomly for fun and we have to check the whole code for things to make sure it’s not a virus or just straight up porn. But even then deleting it from a game not yet released is still a way for the moderation bot to terminate your account. So actively clicking things that are very public that roblox says they check is full of virus’s and porn because they only care whenever it effects them or their money not their player base.

Fun fact: people can put viruses into models that let the creator of the model put anything into your game. A very very very popular roblox KZbinr actually got his account banned for this (luckily he got it back), and I think that might have been what got the pet simulator game banned. Roblox still has yet to fix this issue too, so that means that there’s a 50% chance that if you make games with free models, then your game or your account could get banned.

I don't really get scared by alot, but some of the horror games did get me afew times, and I loved it XD. I want to get scared sometimes! But sadly I rarely do ;-;. Hell even a game called Specter (basically Roblox's phasmophobia) had afew times where the ghosts scared me! I'll be hanging out with my friends trying to get the last bit of evidence, and out of no where a fucking ghost randomly walks up behind me like it owns the place! I mean I guess it technically does own the place, but still! Or in the first game we would always go to one map (I don't remember the name of it, if I remember it I'll update this), head towards a long hallway and every damn time I go there for the first time a creepy sound effect of a baby crying will start! And I always HATE that map beacuse of it! I can't ever remember the name, but I know it as soon as the game loads and we leave the van! Another fun game is called Flicker, not a horror game its just a typical murder mystery game, but it can be fun as long as you don't get the twin role -_-.

I started playing roblox in 2008. I use to waste hours of life away in the many games on the website. Back in the day, Builders Club was specifically for those who liked working on games. It was great. But when they added TBC, and OBC. It sort of created a social class in the game, and it became less about being able to to develop games and more about status. Roblox took a wrong turn somewhere in 2011. I remember they added a new thing to the catalog, GEAR, and it forever changed the way the Roblox developers looked at the game. Also one of Roblox’s Co-Owners passed away from cancer and I believe his input on the game would’ve prevented the cesspool Roblox has become.

feel the need to give my input! i’m a roblox developer and i’m an adult, and i’ve been developing for two years. the amount of corruption in roblox, while in itself sounds ridiculous, is INSANE. so many groups ran by adults exploits children into working for free, whether it be moderating discord servers or working hours long “shifts” to get a “promotion”. on top of that, the adults who run these groups don’t give a shit about their developers. most of the developers are children, and they’re severely underpaid. i only know this because when i want fair paying i get harassed and told my prices are too high - for example, i wanted £150 for a whole asset set for a game and was counterbalanced with £40. absolutely not. it’s such an interesting underground exploitation ring - i only started because i enjoy developing and roblox, being a low poly game, is a good place to get started and gain experience. and now it’s INSANE

For the record: you cannot cash out robux earned by trading or selling owned catalog items. The devex feature on the platform is explicitly for cashing out robux earned by selling either game access, gamepasses, other in game products, or created catalog items only. It’s impossible for someone to sell an expensive avatar item and cash it to USD through official platforms. Also, the percent take doesn’t factor in the fact that roblox sells robux for much more money than developers can cash out for. If anyone’s interested I can get the exact ratio.

I used to trade a lot on Roblox and should really cash out after I checked recently. The whole idea is horrible. The amount of scams that you had to be weary of, the constant checking and it would be all you thought about, the value every minute of items. I worked through it thinking it was everything. THe entire dive into the roblox stock with limited items is kinda off, alot of the items still hit insane prices, but the listed price is just the cheapest one listed, so when there is such a limited supply many are either inactive, or just not selling and instead trading. The highest value item i can think of that actually trades for such value is the Dominus Empyrus, being around 12-15 million robux. WHen you go to the website you were looking at to see the owners you can see the value (what the item actually goes for) listed, as well as the common recent selling prices. Trading is a much more common way of getting items you want via trading up or just buying items that are actually selling for their value instead of being listed at some insanely high overshot, it is still insane that a digital white hood with a few spikes on the side is selling for 150k if you were to buy enough robux to do such, but typically it is done through slowly trading up overtime and waiting for certain items to rise in value. Personally, ive had items that ive sold for around 13k (around 140 usd) that rose up to 60k ( 600 usd) within a few months. The roblox market is just a less stable stock market of the original nfts. ez
