Thanks for talking about this! To clarify the guy did assault me and there was a whiteness, but the police didn't press charges. Another time they took a knife off him while he was on his way (drunk) to my house and let him go. Two men had to restrain him when he followed me into a shop and chased me. They took him in for one night and let him go. I can't have a gun because I have tourettes and it wouldn't be safe for me to use one. The police have just suggested that I quit my streaming career because they would rather I quit my job then have to actually do theirs. We have to fend for ourselves. I put my money into my mum's care needs so I could never afford 24 hour security guards. If I quit tomorrow none of these stalkers will forget me or stop, I will just have less money to spend protecting myself from them. I'm angry for all all the streamers who have to face this every day. We literally risk our lives to entertain people. 😞

Long before I was born, my mom was stalked by a cop. He would follow her around, pull her over in the middle of nowhere and make her get out of her car and walk back while he followed in his car, showing up at her job, etc. It all came to a head when my uncle visited my mom at her job (she was a bartender at the time) and the cop assaulted him and threatened him bc he didn’t know he was her brother. My biological father (who was my moms boyfriend at the time) knew one of the higher ups in the cops department but the BEST they could do was move him to a different area away from my mom. Like 6-8 months after this he pulled over a different woman in the middle of the night (who he had been stalking) in the middle of nowhere and raped her. Stalking isn’t considered a serious crime until they harm you.

I had a friend in high school who had a stalker, she was in a relationship and turned this guy down on numerous occasions. He was like 22 and she was 16, but he had enough of her rejecting him, got a gun and found where she lived. He attacked her once and the police were called and he wasn't caught, she also told them he had a weapon but nothing was done. A week later he broke into her house, killed her dad, her girlfriend, and then himself. I had to go to a funeral for a girl I had known since 5th grade and the other girl moved away. Because you're right, they don't take it seriously until someone ends up fucking dead.

I lived with a stalker for a year, they really don't get punished at all. My roommate was female too, so they REALLY did not take it seriously. She sent over a hundred long deranged incel emails to this poor boy and finally had a psychotic break after getting nothing in return. She then spent every waking moment outside looking for him, I even had to hide all of our kitchen knives because she had become so unhinged. Law enforcement told us that we couldn't even legally force her out unless she actually hurt someone, I had to tell her to gtfo myself. It actually angers me how little law enforcement does with stalking until it's too late. This poor boy never felt safe and I know it's gonna take him quite a bit of time to feel normal again.

A victim isn't to blame but these things don't fall out of the sky either, the police should just do their fucking job. I do think that becoming an internet persona comes with risks that are simply inherent to the job, that being exposing yourself to some of the most deranged individuals in our society that you normally would never interact with or would be exposed to. It's horrible that this happens but there's risks involved with everything, busdrivers don't deserve fear of violence that is often used against them while on the job; but it's simply reality and we have to accept these risks with any line of work. Especially if you're catering on a platform filled with the lonely, socially rejected outcasts.

Use decoys, get your sister to a safe place and switch cars, lure the stalker to her with orchestrated social media posts. A crime will be committed, its either you who does the crime or the stalker but it seems like its no longer a choice to do this lawful unless she doesnt mind moving. I understand how it can be rocky because a crime 'hasnt yet been committed,' but honestly stalking in and of itself should be considered a violent crime, under the same logic as false bomb/shooting threats. (Actually) stalking someone, no matter the motive, makes them fear for their safety/life, and reasonably so. The amount of crippling and genuine fear that you can cause that person can be detrimental to their mental and even physical health. Stalking should absolutely be punishable without them having to commit another crime.

My mother also had a stalker a couple of years ago. I'm not gonna explain the full story because honestly it's pretty tedious but it definitely wasn't as bad as Anita's or Amouranth's. He'd still follow her everywhere and try to talk to her, he also found out where she lives and would ring her door every other day. She went to the police 3 times and they pretty much ignored her, claiming there was nothing they could do. 3 weeks after all this started he rang the door when I was alone at her house, so I grabbed a bat and handled the situation by myself. It's been a couple years and had no more news of him. To this day, I can't think of any other way any of us could've handled the situation better, and yet, if he pressed charges against me I'd get in trouble. Victims of stalking are extremely vulnerable and I believe it's a legal problem, instead of a police one.

I had a man stalk me for four years. He was 40-50 something years old and I only met him once. I was still all dressed up for church because when we got back we realized my dog was missing and so I was looking for her. He showed me some picture of his “daughter” who turned out to be another girl he was stalking. He moved into and began renting the house right next door. We complained for two years and the only reason they came out and put him in cuffs was because he walked into my home and walked out with my underwear, my pillow, and a few of my clothes and stuffed animals. They said they couldn’t find anything. He went to jail for a night. When the trial eventually did roll around, we were only granted a restraining order for a year and he was sentenced to three years probation but only served about about 8-10 months I can’t exactly remember. I can’t exactly remember because I was 15 when this all started. He had a history, he’d done it to two other girls, about the same age, same he ght height, same looks-and still, the justice system failed me. He had some slight mental disorder and absolved him of his crimes apparently. After I came home from college, I didn’t have a car, so I was walking home from the store and I saw a familiar white truck pass me really slow and my heart sank. I watched him go by 7 times on my ride home. I jumped ship and moved in with some guy I met and he never found me again. I think he lost interest thankfully, (I guess, because I haven’t had any problems for about about 3 years now) but it also hurts to know he’s out there tormenting some other girl… I’ve been hurt a few times and the justice system has never once helped me.

Even before the internet, they've never done anything about stalking. "We can't do anything until an actual crime is committed." Except then when a crime is committed it's a lot of victim blaming or "If only we'd known maybe we could have done something to stop the stalker." It's a classic case of law enforcement refusing to actually help people because they aren't constitutionally required to protect anyone.

To the people saying things like "just move houses/cities/somewhere else", it doesn't always stop the stalking. Stalkers will often find a way, somehow, anyhow, to track their victim down, and find their new location. If the victim changes their number, they'll find out what the new number is. If the victim quits their job and starts a new one, the stalker will find out their new place of employment somehow. Stalkers will go to any length to get to their victim, they are extremely dangerous, and they are NOT to be underestimated.

Also, that puts the responsibility and blame on the victim when it's not their fault. They cannot control other people and also aren't responsible for someone else's decisions and actions. They didn't decide to be targeted, the stalker did. The victims are usually just living their lives like any other person and should be able to live in peace. They shouldn't have to uproot and destroy their life because some pathetic excuse of a person decided to target them. I know that actually holding the stalker responsible for their actions and focusing on them to stop (or even just be arrested for stalking) is unfortunately idealistic in many current societies though which is disturbing. It's ridiculous how many people think "just move somewhere else", "just don't go out", etc. are valid suggestions for the targets instead of focusing on stopping the stalkers. The stalkers should be the ones who suffer the consequences but it often ends up with the target suffering and losing the most. There needs to be significantly faster and harsher punishments for stalkers because at the moment, not much is being done and it's insane.

@@Alyakismydutchname I agree, we definitely live in a society that blames the victim of a crime way more often than the perpetrator. In the events of robberies, r*pes, assaults, and even murders, I always see people blaming the victim, saying they were "asking for it", or "must have done something to deserve it" or provoke the person. It's disgusting. There definitely needs to be more education on stalking, because there's still so much ignorance and mockery towards it.

It cannot be understated exactly how bad of an idea it is to move while you are being stalked. If you even have to move, that's very costly, and that alone deserves reparations should the law, by some ungodly circumstance, see this as the solution. But that's not even to say the risks and dangers of moving to a new place, leaving the place you're familiar with, leaving the home you're familiar with and have more control and stability. "No, you should move to a strange new place where you have no connections, no clue where anything is" What the fuck? Whatever new apartment or hotel you stay at isn't nearly as secure as an actual home or residence with family and loved ones. That's not to speak of your loved ones. This can easily become a hostage situation. They can try to blackmail you. Say you decide to move back to your hometown? That can put your own family and friends at risk. It's like...trying to cure a fever by applying a heat pack. Ridiculous. The guy moved from Europe after selling everything. I'm sure he can follow Amouranth to the ends of the earth.

Questions I still have: How fucking cold hearted and careless do you have to be to not help a TEENAGER calling for help against a stalker, fine them, and still not help until the stalker’s work is done? (The stalker killed this teenager.) I do get that specific acts of events that can be considered stalking can’t be acted upon. But it begs the question, what is considered to be an act of stalking that can be acted upon? Because (According to the video) the stalker had weapons on him while streaming himself stalking her and was even caught with weapons when arrested, but was only released A DAY after this? This was after ignoring her and saying that she was wasting police time, and when they sent someone, it took over half an hour. If this stalker had major intentions to kill her, or even had a firearm, she would’ve definitely been killed in that time if the stalker wanted to. But this was still not enough to send concern to the authorities. Does the stalker have to shoot guns at them for police to respond? Even then, it would be converted to attempted murder, not stalking. Just judging by the stories mentioned, the people getting stalked and telling police about it seem to get punished instead of the stalker, you know, THE ONLY REASON WHY THEY CONTACTED AUTHORITIES IN THE FIRST PLACE.

In reality she was living with me and was texting me all day at work as normal. Because of these one sided laws I had to go to court and it was only in court that the details came out and the judge literally got mad at my ex for lying and using laws made to protect her to hurt someone else and dismissed the whole thing. It's pathetic that people blame Amouranth for her stalker when 99% of women with stalkers are not even online and they still get stalked for just existing. I have known several people who were stalked to their home or through public transport, women both big and skinny. It doesn't matter how baggy you dress, how much makeup you put on or how pretty you are, sometimes you just get chosen randomly and living with this reality is utterly terrifying enough, now imagine being a public figure who is beautiful and openly sexy on the Internet, it's a hundred times worse.

@@getbogged dude, I’m a server and I’m glad I never went through that. However, a friend of mine who was also a server at the time as me (she introduced me to the place), she was somewhat-harassed by this customer who only requested women. Weird, but whatever. She served him like once or twice, and all of a sudden he only wanted to be served by her. There are regulars who request certain severs, so it wasn’t a big deal. Everyone who worked there always thought he was odd, but we didn’t think anything of it because we thought he was just a weirdly nice person. Then after that, he kept on coming back only on the days *she* worked, and if she didn’t work that day for some reason or was busy, he would just leave or would wait until she could serve him. After awhile, it started to get out of hand, and she refused to serve him anymore. He would always comment about how beautiful or smart she is, and constantly ask her for a drink or dinner after she got off - even after she told him that she had a fiancé. She would politely decline his offer everytime, but when he told her that her relationship with her fiancé wouldn’t work out for many reasons he *listed,* that’s when she stopped serving him. She got a new job in another city, so she sadly doesn’t work there anymore, for other reasons, but that was the main one. But almost everytime we talk about our jobs, she asks if that guy has come back. The weird part is he only came back once, and one of the servers told him she doesn’t work there anymore, he never came back. It’s honestly weirdly concerning.

Law enforcement is literally there to not only punish people who break the law, but also prevent that. If what you said was the norm, people would just do whatever the fuck they want (as they do nowadays), and then they suffer the consequences, sure, but people may have died for example in the meantime. Try to imagine a situation with a mass shooter. If the cops waited for said shooter to shoot at someone in order to arrest him, they'd enforce the law, but they'd let a person die. You see how stupid that is? Also, stalking itself is a crime, so the police wasn't even punishing the criminal in this case.

My fiancé used to work at a grocery store when we first started dating in college. She was stalked all of the time. I can confirm, the police do not do anything. If it wasn’t because I had friends who were cops in the various local jurisdictions, we would have never gotten a restraining order. For those who don’t know much about stalking, the stalker rarely even understands that what they’re doing is wrong. We ended up taking this one stalker in particular to court for a restraining order. When confessing to the judge, he clearly had no remorse for the things he did or said to my fiancé. And he said some nasty, creepy stuff. Even wrote it down in letters and had them delivered anonymously while she was working. We ended up getting the restraining order from the judge no problem after the judge read the notes but restraining orders are only valid for one year. My fiancé quit her job 364 days later to avoid the stalker entirely.

To me when it comes to police not intervening with stalkers, it's similar to how shooters have a history of being a nuisance and exhibiting dangerous behavior, but yet no one in power that can stop it or curtail it does anything, so the issue gets worse and worse and worse until an explosion happens.

What's even more sad about stalking is that, in most underdeveloped and developing countries, stalking is not even viewed as a major crime. People who participate in such disgusting acts get away with doing so as many times as they please because the law allows them to do so. And even more developed countries such as South Korea only views stalking as a minor misdemeanor as recent as 2021. Laws against stalking specifically in South Korea were only implemented last year, and most speculates that it was only brought to the table after decades of postponing because of a highly publicized stalking case that was on the national news.

I remember hearing stories from my mom about how our creepy neighbor was driving to her everyday. Whenever she has to drop me off to middle school or fueling her car, he was there in his car just watching her for whatever reason. Idk what he’s doing now that we’ve moved but he better not do that again, what a freak. I got 0 respect for creeps like that. And idk if this counts but I remember one time when I was 12 while my sibling was cleaning her car someone drove behind us and parked right there. It wasn’t too bad but when we left they kept following us and they weren’t like turning away to the other direction a few moments later or anything they were just behind us always until we left out of their sight. Anyone who stalks people deserves a solitary confinement, not only is that an invasion of privacy you could potentially have your items stolen or you/your loved ones hurt to feed their twisted desires, and that’s just to name a few.

You have to take into account her line of work, she is a sex worker that uploads images and videos on only fans, and also streams herself with very little clothing on a gaming platform called twitch. This platform is full of tweens and also more vulnerable people whom seek to watch footage of gameplay. Twitch is strictly anti sexual content, and has even banned this person before from their platform, and changed their rules because of them and a few other "streamers" like her, making it so you're only allowed to wear bikinis in a pool or a beach. She went as far as to buy an inflatable pool and use it in her room to continue her "work". She gives more attention to the men that donate the most, often giving them the delusion that they might one day be with her. Some of these men are very sexually neglected and desperate. Whether this is moral or immoral, that's subjective, the question is, is it her fault that she's getting stalkers? Knowing what her work entails, having millions of male viewers and exploiting their sexual desires, she could have used the millions of dollars she makes from her twitch streams to buy a home with better security, or better security measures in her current house, or at the very least avoid exposing her real location to online strangers.

My stalker sent a 50lbs package to me through the local police station. The same police station where I had them call and give her two no contact warnings. They said because she sent it to me through the police station and not my home address she technically didn’t break the order. Two months later she lied about who she was to my university, got my address, and showed up at my door with flowers. The police said they couldn’t arrest her because I don’t have a formal protection order and they wouldn’t issue a protection order because I don’t have her current address. The only way I can maybe get a restraining order is by reporting every incident, going to the courthouse, and filing a formal charge. THEN the police can retrieve her current address and serve her...then she can counter the charge and end up costing me thousands in court. What’s worse is I’m afraid to go forward with any of it because I’m worried it will piss her off enough to deliberately break the order, something she’s likely to try doing. Not only that, she’s from out of state and the order would only be good for the state I currently live in. I want to move after college and will probably have to go through it all again wherever I go. The advice the police gave me was to get a ring doorbell and a lock off of Amazon. To give you an indication of the kind of police I’m dealing with, I should mention I don’t live far from Akron, Ohio.

Maaaan police in Ohio don’t give a fuck. Last year my sisters friend had a dude over and he ended up staying the night and leaving early asf. Come to find out he took her new custom hand gun that she was about to sign for THAT DAY. She wasn’t too worried, she figured he would’ve just sold it cuz the night before he was tryna see it and apparently didn’t know shit about shit, anyway, her my sister and I are tryna call the police and at the very least get a report going and instead of “911 what’s your emergency?” We get an IMMEDIATE interruption like “if it’s an immediate emergency please hold” and we sat there for a good 5-10 minutes like god forbid somebody was getting killed

As an extremely lonely person, I have experienced the sense that I am in a "romantic relationship" with a KZbinr, before. I am not completely _insane_ in the sense that I did not actively persue them, but I can see how it could turn into that (especially, if you have violent tendencies). All I can say is people need to hit the "refresh" button on their reality, every once and awhile. It's okay to watch streamers and feel somewhat less alone, but that doesn't mean you have an actual relationship.

I find it EXTREMELY concerning that Twitch took down the stalkers stream (multiple times I am assuming based on the wording) and didn't feel the need to pass the information along to local authorities? Amazon has always had an issue of being so massive and trying to be in every market that they ALWAYS end up under delivering where it matters most. This is disturbing. Stalking is a bigger problem than ever, particularly due to parasocial relationships. Most streamers have their bread and butter on parasocial relationships, and when you have thousands or tens of thousands of viewers there's bound to be some with issues, some who don't understand boundaries, some with mental health problems, et cetera.
