That's a bit of an understatement. The first time I had a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-a, I was enlightened. Everything from that point on had changed for me. No longer was I an infant, and a naïve boy; but from here on out I became a man. It had an impact on me that I will never forget which is that it cured any depression, anxiety, or ADHD that was inside of me. I was a tri-varsity athlete from that point on, becoming the coolest kid in my school, heck, the coolest in my town. I was famous, everyone knew me, everyone liked me. People said that I was "him". I never would have had such a great life changing experience if it weren't for that delectable chicken sandwich I had eaten upon the day I turned cool.

I used to live in a nice area, than my family moved to a much shitter location. don't get me wrong, this area is slightly ghetto, but it's not too bad, just generally like, barely above poor and entering middle-income level. the service here, at EVERY SINGLE FUCKING PLACE, is absolutely atrocious, and trust me i'm not picky and easy to please. but i swear to god these people legit go out of their way to make your visit as horrible as humanly possible, more than likely because they are hoping you won't come back so they don't need to work as often. some of the worst moments is waiting 1 hr and 15 minutes for 1 bic mac and a chicken sandwich at 11pm lmao. needless to say, the food quality is usually pretty much as bad as it can get

PDQ in my area was total garbage. Everything literally tasted like it was dipped in toilet water before serving. Chicken had no flavor, fries had no flavor, and dipping them in sauce only made them marginally better. It became an inside joke among my family to sarcastically suggest going to PDQ when we were hungry. It also closed down recently, which is most likely due to COVID, but I like to think that this particular PDQ was so bad that it just went out of business on its own merits.

@@precursory3185 The price is steep, but everything is cooked-to-order, fresh produce, fresh beef. We don't even have a freezer in the back. 3.6 oz per patty plus as many toppings as you want. Fresh cut fries every morning. Can't really argue with quality. I don't necessarily agree with the pricing myself, but there are ways you can enjoy a burger on a budget. I think a little burger (1 patty), little fry, and drink should net you about 12-13 bucks.

Partly as a CFA fan and partly as a former CFA employee, I feel compelled to point out that they offer about half a dozen different kinds of sauces, free of charge, that you can add to the sandwich. You can even ask for extra pickles. Part of the appeal is the quality of the customer service, the chicken being fairly healthy among fast food (and every piece of chicken was raw within the 60 minutes prior to its being served), the cleanliness of the restaurants, the incredible speed with which we can serve customers, (more than 2-3 minutes on an order came up on the queue in yellow, and by 4-5 minutes, in red- including during 1000 order/hour parts of the day). You can also go in 30 seconds before closing (probably a bit after, if you appear to be flustered parents with young children), order absolutely anything, and get the full range of service.

@@nathanielpowers2447 Biggest deviations from the norm that I'm aware of are: -When the fryers get the peanut oil completely replaced rather than just filtered and topped off, the first few batches of filets or nuggets will come out a lighter shade, and taste, I assume, slightly "cleaner" -If all the non-spicy fryers for chicken are occupied, and there's a call for more strips (which are actually stored in a bit more seasoning than the filets and nuggets, rather than just being a different size and shape), they sometimes get put into the fryers used for the spicy filets, and emerge with a little extra something.

I have the same opinion about In-N-Out as you do about Chickfila. I think it's definitely above average fast food but I have no idea why people literally worship it and spit on anyone who don't think it's the second coming of Christ. When I went out west and had it for the first time I was genuinely blown away at how insanely average it was for how much people talk about it. There's definitely plenty of fast food burger joints that give it competition, like Five Guys, Culvers, hell I've even had burgers from Hardees/Carl's Jr. that genuinely impressed me. In-N-Out is overhyped only because it's an exclusive staple of the southwest IMO. If it was available nationwide, I think don't think people would be hyping it up as much.
