SEC has very well done requirements, I'm not sure about states but either way none of these people are registered with either so they can't legally give financial advice so they use that cop out saying it's not financial advice. If it's a strong enough argument that remains to be seen but otherwise you could sic the SEC on them. I believe there are similar rules in the UK and in EU. You can easily look this up. SEC itself provides a pdf on what constitutes a real financial advisor. I'd post more info on this but I'm not sure how to put it in a form short enough for a KZbin comment.

But it attracts criticism because of its high volatility. However, fancy telling that to someone holding Netflix stock. My preference is for people to actually stop using this umbrella “crypto” term. There are subsets within and it reeks of ignorance to bundle it all into one.

Crypto can be set up by absolutel morons or chalratans who are doing nothing like they say with money and you can't easily find out nor know. That's the difference.

@@crunchyfrog555 you get to find out more about crypto projects too, people know about Vitalik Buterin co-founder of Ethereum and Charles Hoskinson co-founder of Cardano, people know about the teams behind these projects and the founders and lead developers are fully doxed, with the roadmaps being made publicly available. You could definitely call purchasing ETH and ADA investing. There are many crypto projects with anonymous teams behind them and no solid use case or reason to exist, in that case you'd definitely be gambling. There's a massive difference between something like XRP and a random meme shitcoin.

Newsflash: Most criminals are worried about being exposed as criminals and experiencing the consequences of their behavior.
