Best tandem in the backfield 3 yr starting QB offensive line with 4 starters with years to f playing together a tremendous secondary and a couple transfer WRs with a couple returning uprisings stars. So yeah it’s a championship caliber team 100%

Talk about overvaluing a DC, defense hasn't been the problem at PSU. Funny how OSU's D under Knowles was never great until after they got torched by Oregon this year, when Day forced him to make some changes (which he apparently has been butt hurt about ever since). Oh, and he had a unit full of 4 & 5 star seniors experienced in the defense, and Caleb Downs showed up. Unless Allar figures it out and the offense takes big steps, it doesn't matter.

Nope, year 1 the OSU D was lousy. Year 2 was much better, then this year was great, during the playoff run...but only after Day had a heart-to-heart with him after the first Oregon game to make some changes in the way he was approaching things. In the 4 game playoff run for Ohio State they beat 4 straight teams ranked in the top seven and the defense really upped its game. Party because Day told Knowles he wanted Caleb Downs to be playing much closer to the line of scrimmage in the middle of the field as the denensive QB and that made a huge difference...that was because of Ryan Day. In Knowles first year, he and the refs were basically responsible for blowing the 14 point 4thQ lead against Georgia in the playoff game. Knowles defense was horrific in that 4th Q, in addition the prior 2022 game vs UM that year when OSU gave up five 50+yard TD's to an average UM offense. Now some of that was because of Michigan's horrific cheating which they're going to soon get hammered for... but there was still no excuse to be that bad

Geography --- Philly being home. + the $ ! --- He is losing many to the NFL off that OSU - D. --- There were 'differences' with L J on the staff - and rumor is Ryan Day prevented Knowles from 100% of what he wanted to do with their D ! ---?--- His schemes are very complicated and took 3 years to fully implement - for the players to digest. Took that at Oklahoma St as well. > P S won't get his full benefit for 3 years - at least (!) - but - with the Portal & transfers - perhaps longer ? Were no transfers from the portal to deal with in his past - like there will be going forward ? - - - Remains to be seen if his 'potential' value is even possibly realized in todays game of NIL / portal use ? --- Players @ Oklahoma St spent 3 - 5 years in his "system" to fully learn it all !

Not really. PSU needs to move away from being a run team if you want some alpha dog 5-star elite WR. That dog is not coming to PSU if they don’t see the touches. We have great RBs and all-world TEs… that is our identity. We have to win it based on that. We need serviceable WRs, not 5-star elites.

Yes. Not that she was terrible or anything. But Kraft is definitely driven to raise the bar around here in ALL sports. It probably helps that he doesn't have to care whether people think we put football first, like many people were doing when she arrived. Barbour had to deal with a lot of that from certain trustees, and she also didn't have the support that Kraft has from President Bendapudi.

@@johnhaversack1634 We have had coaches leave for better jobs, for the NFL, due to "health reasons", retired, left during scandals and still 90% of the time if you were a winner you got a good send off and remained loved by buckeyes. Today at the championship celebration that Jim skipped, when they read off Knowles name the players went silent. Brian Kelly knows football too.. doesn't mean I want him as a coach...
