Penn State continued to show struggles offensively early in the 2006 season despite having talented players on the field. One player who didn't struggle was tailback Tony Hunt, who ran for well over 100 yards in this game. Midway through the game an electric run by freshman AJ Wallace on an end-around put some life back into the offense. Luckily for this team, the defense was more than solid. Time after time, keeping the Penguins from penetrating too deep into Lion territory and getting the ball back for the offense is what kept this game under control.
Penn State's Top Performers:
Tony Hunt: 18 carries, 143 yards, TD
Paul Posluszny: 8 total tackles
Ed Johnson: 5 tackles, 2 sacks
The 37-3 victory was Penn State's second win of the season (2-1) with a trip to Columbus looming in the following week.
