The real magic: Every single word was in the right place. The 'Pasteurized 2% milk' pun was a gem.

I’m just annoyed that didn’t catch the 2% after he said the “98%” part of the dad joke. ;) In fairness, all of those micro-jokes, back to back, did make for a pretty entertaining performance. The magic wasn’t really up to FU quality, but I’m glad he was on the show.

@@patcat8950 Yeah, first thing that popped into my head too. Very succinctly explained, btw. Nice. As you know, ASL is not English (or S.E.), but there is a lot of wordplay humor: Color-ado, Star-bucks (one variant), micro-wave, cents, …

I dont think Fool Us is about fooling at all. Its about showcasing great performances of not so known magic artists, giving them the room to be creative and awesome. Its about the art and entertainment and being known to the world. Very good routine!

What I like about this show is (from what I've seen) even when they don't fool Penn and Teller they still praise the act, and the contestants always seem to be good sports about it. As a fellow michigander it was just cool to see some one from the state on the show.

Hey, Jon, I liked that a lot ! Very clever application of some classic magic principles , which , as it turns out -- no big surprise I guess -- were principles that P&T were familiar with ... But one of the things I love about this show is that the "contest" part of it is not the main focus , it's about presenting quality magical entertainment , so whether you fooled 'em or not , this was very entertaining. I love that you and Jasmine have your own stage and travel around doing your shows together. I hope I'll see you perform in person one of these days.

SPOILER ALERT!!, if you don't want to know how (I believe) he may have done this trick then stop reading now.... First of all I have to say that the table he used is particularly big, I mean, big enough to fit someone inside of it, someone that could actually handle him which ever price Penn and Teller choose (or he could have all those prices stashed on his clothes on hidden pockets). Now, when he unfolded the box, both the noice it did and the movements he did made me think of one name, Svengali, the are several Svengali props out there, for example a book with drawings, which, depending on how you hold it, as you spread the pages you can see all blank pages, all black an white drawings and even all full colored images, and you could have even more layers, in this case, as many layers as cereal boxes he put on the bag for Alison to pick one. Either the person inside the table placed the price behind the box right after he placed it on the table or he picked it from a hidden pocket on his clothes, whichever way he did it, he then placed it on the changing bag part that contained the cereal, so when he spread the cereal over the bowl, the price felt on it, and the other section of the changing bag had the milk on it, like the old water pouring newspaper trick...

Really neat trick. I love trying to figure out what Penn is hinting at with his code talk, and sometimes (like here) I kinda think I know what words he meant for you to hear in there. I'm still absolutely none the wiser, which amuses me greatly. :D
@ke6gwf2 жыл бұрын
He was basically using names of trick techniques, and it boils down to, there are pouches built in to the seemingly flat box that conceal the cereal and the milk, so he just has to open the pouch to pour it out. And I assume he loaded the glasses from a pocket in a similar way he loaded the spoon from her ear. Oh, and the box would have multiple layers in it, each with a different artwork, so when he opened it he just had to select the proper "page" to match what Allison picked. And after showing the artwork, when he closes it up, the narrow side of the box almost looks like it's bulging, which is where I am guessing the milk is stored. Nice show, pretty standard techniques.

🧐 No Ikea worker here, just a magician??? If it was done that way, I may have fooled them try again.....

@@lachancemagic The point I am making is that it does not look magic, if the magician (as you at 3.01 mins kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpDOXqCQhpiZlbM) steps completely out of sight and reaches into a huge black box, just to come back with one item from there. you could have done it that way and have 20 small boxes there, and it does not matter if you not did it that way, because it takes away all the wonder. you see, from the audience's view you could just have done that, and it does not matter if you did it otherwise, because this ruins the trick for the viewer. It literally looks like telling an Ikea worker you order/choice (chosen item) and then you back to the storage and pick it up for them to produce it.
@YTAliasJoeCool Жыл бұрын
If a magician has to step completely out of sight behind a black box thats even larger than himself, then the audience expects something great like a pair of dancers appearing from the box, and the magician entering the stage/room from another spot with a quick dress change. you know something like that sort. for this trick you and your hands should be visible to the audience all the time to be convincing.
