Pennsylvania Railroad 'S1' Review ~ Train Simulator

The Pennsy S1 was a unique 'Duplex' steam locomotive that proved very impractical due to her long rigid wheelbase, in spite of her impressive looks. The real thing only existed for ten years; built in 1939, withdrawn in 1946 and scrapped in 1949. But thanks to the work of DSGDDR, we can now enjoy the S1 in Train Simulator classic.

Something I forgot to mention in this video was how to install the S1 in the first place. The file is an RWP, which means you'll need to use 7-Zip in order to access the folder in said RWP file. Then you need to drag the 'Assets' folder into your RailWorks directory; that's it.

Hi! Glad you enjoy S1! I'm beta tester for DSGDDR and did the screenshot you see on website :D (Hi-line). Back when it was in beta I did list of routes in four categories: "Ok", "Okn't", "Nah" and "F**k no". Highest speed I recorded on that thing was 157.3mph.

Nice video! One could only imagine how good TSW could have been had DTG built a proper open simulator instead of their greedy closed off system. It's no wonder they're known among the biggest clown developers in simulation circles. Take this review as an example. A freeware model being of higher quality than the junk DTG is selling for TSC.

That's something I forgot to mention in the video; this S1 models puts a lot of DTG products to shame (even the steamers in TSW).

We all wish there were some free-ware products in TSW, even stuff like liveries (like the ICE1 & 3 livery alterations), but the air horn sounds like a dying cow, something which made me laugh.

Sad thing is that, whenever the devs do make extra liveries, they insist on making them payware. I wish they would just give them out as free updates, like what TSG did with the red BR628.

@@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga I’m pretty much switching over to railroader and century of steam when It’s fully released the locos are beautifully modeled and the gameplay is enjoyable and it feels like the devs actually have a passion for railroading. I read the TSW4 official review and the amount of bs the dev talked about being a lifelong hardcore railfan reminded me of someone fresh into the hobby building a simple oval 4x8 layout thinking that trains only go around in circles in real life with no purpose other than to be there with no true industrial interaction and destination whatsoever. They just want to make 100% profits on digital dlcs regardless of quality control

main issue i havewith is is that when i go to adding other wagons to the trains it like up and when trying to drive the thing i found that usally it would crash my game

NS 8112 is not a C40-9W. She's actually an ES44AC.

Ey mate, I know this isn't related to the S1, good vid btw, I play tsw4 steam for the most part (more used to). And you say you have trouble with getting the 8f and jubilee to speed. On the tender, there is a water valve that's automatically set to shut and its located behind the driver seat. Open it to keep up water in the Boiler. But tbh I honestly agree to an extent on the dtg matter, just unsubed to the tsw4 channel. Sucks to since the steam brought me back. Note this was ps4 that my copy was on. I'm now trying to find outside storage drives for my pc so i have space for trainz 2019 stuff.
