The Grenchler is basically "What if we took the Hornoad from Metroid 2 and spliced it with a crocodile" and I love it. One of my favorite Metroid creatures. If I remember correctly, they used the Sheegoths from Prime 1 as a base for it.

The Grenchler is legit one of my favorite videogame enemies, because it's basically a reskin of the Baby Sheegoth from Prime 1, except now everything is AWESOME. Goofy little guy with no eyes and a pudgy body becomes three hundred pounds of angry crocodile. Pew pew snowball attack becomes LIGHTNING BLAST. It’s faster, more aggressive, it can swim, and the snapping sound its jaws make haunted my fucking dreams as a kid. Even the name went from "aw, who's a baby goth boi" to "'grench' is probably the sound my head is going to make when that thing crushes it in its teeth."

Its not that Other M is "bad", the combat and gear usage in the world was sick. All the bosses were PRIMO action (except the final which is complete aids). I get how the story beats were dumb and went against our queens character. But seeing Samus put aliens in a headlock then headshotting them is fucking rad as hell. Verdict: Other M isna solid 8 outta 10

I wouldn't call the combat sick, it's decent but it needed the nunchuck, the dodge button also being the movement button is dumb, the story is trash (she cowers before Ridley even though it's their (at least) 7th fight (not counting SR), lets herself die until Adam allows her to use her Varia suit, ...) it's not as bad as people make it out to be but that's to be expected since the next real metroid released 7 years later (Samus Returns, Federation Force only come out the year before that) while 2002 to 2007 saw the release of Fusion, ZM and all 3 prime games
