Davey knew that players familiar with the original Stanley Parable would be searching through the different paths, looking for the "new content", so after a few runs of checking every nook and cranny, they just plop it down directly in your path where it's impossible to miss, zero subtlety. "You're looking for the new content? Well, here you go". When I was playing and first saw this, it felt like the game had read my mind.
