Jenova's name is definitely based on Jehovah, especially since she was named that by Shinra researchers (if I recall correctly), and since they thought she was ancient, they thought she'd lead them to the Promised Land, much like the god Jehovah would his believers. Fun fact it also the "nova" part in her name means "new" in Latin, basically making her name mean "New Jehovah". Overall a lot of FF7's lore and terms are based on especially Jewish religion and mythology, but as they've same origin, there is a lot of similarities with Jehovan/Christian mythology too. I don't know if I agree with Jenova symbolizing Christianity's "foregeiness" to Japan, as I haven't seen any proper proof about these themed being used for other than lore/setting. There is also a not so well known story in Japan that Jesus wasn't crucified and escaped to Japan, with his grave being located in Hokkaido. This story has its origins years before Christianity arrived to Japan from the West. So there is that.

I love how gay some of Sephiroths dialogue is. Like at 17:51 it’s implied that Tifa and the others can see him, but they don’t know the full context so to them it’s just some guy showing up and asking Cloud to “Embrace Him” and “Don’t Deny” him or whatever. It would be funny if shortly after this moment when the group gets back together everyone’s like “who the HELL was that guy, your ex?” And Cloud would be like “no.” And then proceed to not explain it further. Peak comedy. I hate how Sephiroth is in Square Einx. They are going to make him into NFTS man….. also Sephiroth helped me realize that I have a thing for long-haired men so thanks I guess.
