In the Japanese version the way he speaks changed during cosmo canyon, the text was different from how it was in midgar. But in the English version the way he speaks doesn’t change because it’s hard to express different maturity with the language than it is from Japanese. So they didn’t change the character at all.

Just love how they wrote her in this. Exactly how a teenager would behave in a group of adults, kinda cringe at times to prove she deserves to be here. And all the relationships with the other characters are great! As you said she acts like Cloud (and Nanaki to an extent) are her brothers (so some banter but also she seeks their protection), Barret is a father figure, and Aerith and Tifa are the sisters she admires.

Having Cloud participate in group activities with the NPC's is probably my favorite little touch in Rebirth. I didn't know he clapped to the singing in Kalm! I did see him do a wiggle on the boat, but it was lower, like a hip-wiggle and swishing motion. Don't think I've seen him wave his arms like what you showed here 😂. And then in Nibelheim, him getting involved in the elderly stretch session was precious. It all goes to show how he's really opened up and is having more fun, even in the dire circumstances.
