I bought a fixer upper a few months ago and for a long time, it only had one or two outlets with power. I used to have to come into my house with a lantern at night. It was spooky...and inconvenient. Just yesterday, my electrician came over and finished up. My house feels so much more like a home and less like a construction site now! I have a gas stove but an electric water heater so I'll have cold water when I lose power :(

This video coming out about not having power was weirdly convenient because a few days ago my street had to be evacuated because of a fire and as a precaution they turned all the power off. Even when the evacuation order was lifted my power was still out for a whole day so I was surprised to see this in my notifications not too much after I finally got power!

When I was a kid we used to miss power for like 7 hours everyday, mostly on the afternoon, but also at night sometimes. My sister and I got so bored that we entertained ourselves plucking out a hair off our heads and burning it over the candles and watch it shrink. Try being without power (electricity) for more than 5 months!!! I was in PR for hurricane Maria and the after math was terrible wash clothes by hand , no fans it was so humid, no cold water to drink, just can food cause I had a gas stove ... Looking where to charge phones cause sitting in the car to charge phones we were wasting gasoline...so that was ridiculous...and so on! So a couple of hours without power and people run around like chicken without a head! So Brenda... Turn on the lights it's dark in here!!!! 😂😄😂😄😂😄

When you have kids I feel like your more prepared for outages and storms and such. We always have candles batteries flashlights water etc. I also buy charger packs from like Walmart for 10 bucks and u can charge them from your car but really just charge then and store them.

i know this is a vlog and that this comment will probably get lost, but you have inspired me. a year ago i was really depressed, and i had been slacking on my hygiene and i took very little care of my skin and hair, but when i started watching you i figured out that i should really have been takig better care of myself. i started reading the labels on things, and taking better care of my skin, hair and my mental state. i thank you so much for helping me realize that being a greaseball was. not ideal lmao,,,,ive been doing skincare for a year now, and now my non frequent breakouts are even less frequent, and my skin is a lot healthier! thank you penny for making me laugh in trying times as well :)
