Congratulations on your school’s accomplishments, both academically and athletically. Another great assortment of pens and inks. That Sailor Reglus is a nice color with that little bit of sparkle. I share your sentiment on using inks that have been discontinued; inks are made to be used so use them. Currently the hot topic in the fountain pen world is the new Lamy Dark Lilac ink. What are your thoughts on this? Good luck to you and your students at the state science Olympiad.

Thank you so much! On April 20, we will find out how we do. As for Lamy Dark Lilac: I've never used either of the controversial inks. I understand the color of the shading has changed. But any comments I have are useless: I've never used either ink.

Enjoyed seeing pens I haven"t seen on your pen channel recently. As a secondary school stem teacher and math/physics/computer science guy you might enjoy reading The Worlds I See byFei-Fei Li. She is a leading AI and computer vision scientist who has written a memoir about her personal journey as an immigrant from Szechwan and her professional journey beginning with a years long project in image recognition. She devotes quite a bit of comment to the help she received from Mr. Sabella, her first American High School math teacher in New Jersey, and the later personal friendship and help he extended to her family.

I'll put that book on my list. And thank you for the specific reference to the author's high school experience. It's a good reminder of why I went into this profession!

I'm excited! Fargo will be in person. Nationals...not that we stand a chance...are virtual. So I think my students will have a good experience.

Recently I bought some Diamine Jack Frost sheen ink in a lovely 4 legged bottle. Monteverde have released a Regatta Mondrian I bought with a Omniflex nib. The have also brought out a Regatta with a Harlequin pattern in black and white.

The 4-legged bottles aren't exactly functional, but they look cool! And fun concidence that you've pulled out a Regatta: my own just came out to play after many years!

The new OMAS has nothing to do with the original company, it is a new collaboration between The Pen Family, Narhvul and Giotta. The reasoning they have used for using the name, model names and copying the models is that Ancora have done nothing with them for so long that they should now be public domain. The present nibs are OMAS but not one knows how unless Manu is pulling them from, unsold pens he still has, but over time either they will have to do a deal with ScriBo for 'OMAS' nibs and feeds (which could happen), else we'll see the ubiquitous Pen Family nib in place.
