When you realize how young Teddy Riley was during his hey day itll make you rethink everything. When you realize he started out making all this amazing music in the projects while living in the projects of NY in the 80s....::mind blown::

Great Teddy Riley interview. Thank U Pensado's Place. I never get tired of hearing how his music comes together and the people that he has been blessed to produce. He's an incredible inspiration and an innovator. When Quincy Jones calls you to produce someone, it's like being called by God. The music industry needs TR - He keeps our head bobbing (the neck knows). :-) Music changes so much and producers come and go, but it feels good to know that Mr. Riley is still in the mix. Peace and Blessings always

Teddy Riley is a living legend and has no signs of stopping or losing the touch. A true inspriration for anybody doing what we all do. Such a lovely guy too, shows the kids you don't have to be an abrasive "G" to be in the game. Everybody on this show does that actually. Would be amazing to see him work for just one day! Big up's Pensado's, best interview for ages!

@MrJgreat. & @Marcos Council. NEWS ALERT: There's absolutely NOTHING WRONG (or problematic) with Windows based PC's for music production. Apple/Mac's are over-priced Chinese technology. (Research: "FoxConn China") You can custom-configure a dedicated music production Windows based PC for 60% of the cost of a Mac (or LESS). AND it will run steadily for YEARS.

I would certainly argue that Jam & Lewis invented NJS. Now THAT would make a great episode.
@PhuckHue210 жыл бұрын
Nasty is officially the first released NJS and J&L were also influenced by the DC go-go artists and james brown. Grace Jones 1985 STTR is an example of pre-NJS. Teddy claims the demos he was making in 1984 while still in high school were NJS.

If u listen to the first Keith Sweat, GUY, "Just Got Paid" by Johnny Kemp, BLACKSTREET, JANE CHILD's "I Don't Wanna Fall In Love, (all from teh late 80s/Early 90s, All Produced By TEDDY RILEY, none of those records sound like Jam & Lewis!! Jam & Lewis' sound was dubbed "THE MINNEAPOLIS SOUND." It was an extension of their mentor, PRINCE's, sound.
