In this video, we’ll look at a way to build a resilient portfolio - a portfolio you can keep for the long-term that historically has had a good rate of return but which was not too prone to long, deep crashes.

Lol what an exaggeration, was like 15% of the video maybe 20% max but only because this one is a shorter video , idk why people get so bothered about it just skip it if you don’t care, it helps KZbinrs keep making free content for viewers

Hi @djayjp our website members get the commercial free version of the video. But I'm afraid these sponsorships allow us to make free content which many people find valuable. And we're very selective about the products we mention. Thanks, Ramin.

@@Pensioncraft I completely understand the need for it but honestly it was too much this time for such a short video. I didn't click to hear about rebalancing features in InvestEngine for a 100th time and a few minutes for the actual video topic.

Interesting. When tools like the Investengine portfolio creator say "Bonds" - do they mean Sovereign bonds / gilts or corporate bonds? Do they mean individual bonds held to maturity, or bond funds?

What’re your thoughts on invest engine?
@tombowman4489
@tombowman4489 Ай бұрын
Just looked at the fees. Seems pretty cheap. Need to compare that to vanguard though which I haven't done yet to have a clearer picture. They have a table comparing their fees to free trade, interactive investors and AJ bell which of of they are much cheaper than. But I suspect one of the reasons 212 and vanguard aren't in the list of compared is because they are cheaper. You probably have a lot more choice on what you invest in on invest engine though in comparison to vanguard. Vanguard is quite limited.

simplicity is best, just hold one low cost world etf when you're young and dilute that as you get older with buying property slowly and renting it out
@koneism
@koneism 21 күн бұрын
Too much hassle with property. More & more regulations make it not worth it. My much smaller portfolio out performs rental income every single time & no hassle. All the financial savvy ppl I know are unloading their properties & sticking it in ETF's.

That is a weird portfolio Long term bonds and small cap ? Sounds like a bloodbath to me but portfolio chart tells a different story not for me though

Long terms bond are bad right now, but have been pretty solid before, especially during crises.
@dronevilOO
@dronevilOO Ай бұрын
@@PensioncraftTextbook example for "past performance doesn't guarantee future results". I'm sure there are many weird stuff one could construct based on back testing but it doesn't mean we should. It's very interesting for a discussion, but I find quite dangerous to present this as THE resilient strategy. Would you personally use this as your pension portfolio? Thought so.
@MagicNash89
@MagicNash89 Ай бұрын
@@dronevilOO Still, its an interesting discussion, and concerning past performance - this is all we have in terms of some solid data - everything else would literally be conjecture because we know little of the future and we must assume what we know of the past an the present is mostly correct - which it may very well not be, as it turned out so so many times before. While my own portfolio is vastly different than this weird one, still, there are many similarities and the main one is DIVERSIFICATION into different asset classes, equity sectors. Best advice for "past performance doesn't guarantee future results".
@dronevilOO
@dronevilOO Ай бұрын
@@MagicNash89 If those asset classes and sectors are not good and hence high risk then the diversification itself is of little benefit. I agree it's very interesting for a discussion, but I worry that people who don't spend a lot of time researching might jump on it by default. For example, looking at the title I expected a resilient strategy that I might potentially use for my small SIPP pension, to diversify away from a single fund. If something is truly resilient, it would be a good candidate for a pension portfolio, no? Would you really use this one for that purpose? Discussions are good, but some more disclaimers are even more important here. And to get that point across clearly, it doesn't help that 80% of the video is a commercial.

Stocks usually rally towards this time of the year but it is going to be a red January and tough for investors in the new year. I have been holding stocks to sell at a profit at this time but it isn’t looking so, going into 2023 I am in a fight to hold or to sell.

So am i right in thinking there's no set up fee, no charges to buy and sell etfs no dealing fees, no platforn fee and no charges if you invest your money and leave it to hopefully grow, no charges if you don't put any more money into the investengine isa once you set it up and invested some money into a portfolio. So is it free of charges to invest in their isa. Am i correct in my assumptions
