Thanks Alberto for mentioned about the Xtrackers LPX Private Equity Swap UCITS ETF (XLPE). Although it looks overpriced at the moment I'll be interesting on buying this ETF if it dips. Normally retail investors don't get access to World private equity so indirectly getting access looks like the next best thing.

Hello Mr Ramin, I've opened an ISA fixed for 1 year in November 2023. Is it good until april of 2024, or it's going for hole year? Can I open another one in April 2024?

I think you just have to make sure you don't invest more than the limit each tax year, but agreed it's confusing. Maybe ask the provider of the ISA?

Hi Ramin! Why do you say XLPE is a fund of funds? If I have a look at the factsheet, it shows which companies the fund invests in. It is not like Vanguard Lifestrategy. Thank you.

Hi @Alberto-di7lx this fund buys "The 25 most liquid listed private equity companies" e.g. KKR, Apollo, 3i. So it is a fund that buys listed private equity companies. Those companies themselves buy other companies i.e. it's like a fund of funds. For example, if you take a look at KKR's investor day presentation ir.kkr.com/app/uploads/2024/04/KKR-2024-Investor-Day.pdf you'll see its portfolio of investments. Thanks, Ramin

Thanks Alberto for mentioning about the Xtrackers LPX Private Equity Swap UCITS ETF (XLPE). Although it looks overpriced at the moment I'll be interesting on buying this ETF if it dips. I might buy a small amount today just to get started so that I can monitor. The management fees are a little high at 0.70% , but if it gives superior returns then it is worth it. Normally retail investors don't get access to World private equity so indirectly getting access looks like the next best thing.

Re FCA banning us from investing in bitcoin etf's how can we get the FCA to a) allow or b) admit they have no interest in our protection? After all they allow us to gamble via TV ads & bingo & other guaranteed ways of losing our money.

The UK FCA is owned by the banking and finance industry, and does what it's told. Blocking UK investors from buying Bitcoin ETFs and trackers isn't safeguarding or protecting them at all, because they can still buy bitcoin proxy stocks like Coinbase, Microstrategy, or Bitcoin miners, which are actually way more volatile than bitcoin, and carry an even greater risk of loss. However, they can't really ban them, because they're all legitimate businesses that are listed on the NASDAQ. Thankfully, the UK FCA didn't protect me from buying Coinbase stock at $83 in my SIPP, and selling it for $255 recently. However, they did protect me from buying an altcoin on Binance for $2.40 shortly before it ran up to $20. Thanks FCA, I really owe you one! 🤦‍♂️

I find the gambling laws in the UK unbelievable given all the regulations and fuss over not allowing investors to invest in what they want. And gambling income is not even taxed.
