I really enjoy your videos. And your cute kitty! This is my first time commenting ever! I have been re-visiting a love of fountain pens after about a 40 year break. Just ordered the 12th one and some ink samples. So far my collection theme would be "cheap" and since I don't have that many, I try to write or at least scribble with each one each day. I've found it interesting that the pens have led to journaling and handwriting improvement. Thanks for taking time post videos - I've found them very helpful.

I have the Platinum 3776 in the Chartres Blue with Rhodium trim. This is my go to pen for taking my French notes, I love the feel of this pen in my hand, but I have to advance the ink from the converter frequently because the nib goes dry on me a lot. I have a Conklin Orange Nights that I love the look of. It looks like it should cost much much more than it actually does. This pen also feels good in my hand. I have a Pilot Custom Heritage 912 with the FA nib, I like to use this pen when writing letters and working on my penmanship. I didn’t get the chance to purchase a Visconti but I recently added a Pineider Le Grande Belleza to my collection, and I also have a Pelikan M805.

Always fun to watch these videos. I actually even correctly predicted two of the five pens on your list here. I have my few EDC pens; and what I understand of your ‘go-to’ pens there’s a distinction between the two categories. I have six favourite go-to pens for the last two years. They are: Aurora 88, Aurora Optima, Sailor Pro Gear II, Waterman Carene, Edison Collier and Visconti Divina Elegance.

My go-tos at the moment seem to be my Lamy Al-Star (gold EF), either of my Opus 88 Fantasias F, or TWSBI Vac Mini F. My go-tos for drawing are the Platinum 3776 UEF, Lamy Joy (gold EF), and the Pilot Falcon SEF. I enjoy your videos-keep up the good work!

My favorites, vintage Parker 45, arguably the best fountain pen ever made and a vintage Sheaffer Glideriter which I used in high school and that writes smooth as silk. Not the most expensive pens but in my opinion best pens for the money.

Pelikan M600, Estebrook Esti, Twsbi Eco & Platinum 3776. Diplomat Esteem & Pilot Prera (fine nib) are honourable mentions.

Please consider adding a summary of the pens you cover in the write up. I'm sure there are many followers who would find it useful. That way it can become a reference which people will come back to even when they dont have time to watch the whole video again. It would make def your contributions more helpful.

Hi, another enjoyable video. My go-to set contains Cross Century II, 2 x Waterman Hemisphere, my Dad’s old Parker 51 - all fine or extra-fine nibs. Also inked at the moment are a second Parker 51 and a Lamy LX for moments when I lose my mind and decide to use a slightly broader nib!

Great video. My go to pens are a couple of bespoke Lotus Pen Wizards with custom JoWo nibs ground to a Fine Architect nub by the good folks at Peyton Street Pens. Then a Homo Sapiens Bronze Age in EF. And then a Montegrappa Nerouno Grand with a Fine nib. They also tend to be cycled into my EDC pens.

My top 5 (in order of use) - Pilot Custom 823, Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze, Lamy 2000, Pelican 805 Stresseman, and Aurora Optima. All of them are GREAT pens. Glad I don't have to limit to only one...

I love my Visconti Divina Maxi, and my OMAS Paragon as top tier. I also enjoy my Visconti Van Gogh Crystal, and Wheat fields under Thunderclouds. Those are what I've been using mostly since those were all acquired this year and it's difficult to put them down. When I leave for work, it's so difficult to leave them behind. And your cat looks very comfy there on the floor. Does yours ever sleep on your desk and knock things on the floor? Mine does. Well, one of mine does. He recently broke my Esterbrook Estie with the vintage nib. Now, I don't leave any pens out on the desk. Live and learn.
@BlueMel_MH5 жыл бұрын
I understand not taking your Visconti out and about. I took my Opera Master Luna (B) to work and dropped it... one Italian vacation later, it's fixed and writing, but I'm hesitant to take it out, except in a protective case to pen meetups. My other go-to/always inked are Turquoise White M600 (B), Vanishing Point Raden (F) which I travel with sometimes, Visconti Ocean Breeze Rose Gold (M), Stipula Tocco Ferro (1.1mm stub), and Nagasawa Skeleton Proske w/ Sailor Zoom nib.

I don't really have a rotation; I keep too many pens loaded. I have some on my kitchen table, but most are on or by my computer desk. Those by my desk are: three Benu pens, one a Scepter, another an Opal Dust; I don't know the model of the last one. A Waterman Carene, a burgundy Laban Greek Key, a silver Parker Sonnet Mistral, two Lamy Safari's: Petrol Green, and Mango Yellow, a Lamy desk pen, a Lamy Kaweco an AL stone-washed blue, Lamy Aion in green, a Pilot burgundy Decimo, a Sailor black KOP, a Sailor-Wancher green & white Pro Gear, a gold chevron Sheaffer Legacy, a Cross Year of the Rat in blue, a Bluedew red, a Franklin-Christoph black & cinnamon Model 02, a small black Sailor Pro Gear. a retro Pelikan Green/Black M 200, a Visconti Medici, a urushi black/red Nakaya Neo Standard, a black Sailor 1911, an Aurora red Talentum, and, finally, a burgundy Pilot Ishime.

This will probably change in a month when I clean out my pens. Except for the Lamy Dark Lilac; just love that pen inked up with Lamy Azurite ink. Your kitty is so cute! That's a drool-inducing top five. I have the 3776, which I love. It's my first and only good nib. I have a SF on it which I enjoy but I do notice that it tends to catch the paper on the upstroke sometimes. My go-to list is: 1. 3776 2. TWSBI Eco blue 3. Lamy Al-Star Pacific blue 4. Faber Castell Look 5. Diplomat Magnum (purchased after your review)

I'm just getting into this, and I'm trying to go mid-priced. I was surprised that so many of your go-to pens are so expensive. I think my limit someday would be $200. I used to carry a MontBlanc ballpoint as an EDC. I never left it anywhere, thank goodness, but I don't use it much. It was nerve-wracking to carry around..

My go to pens are pens i ink when i want to feel good ☺️ 👸🏻 1. Platinum 3776 chartres blue in B. I pair this with any ink and it just makes me 😊 2. Platinum 3776 celluloid jade in B, paired with edelstein jade. Quickly becoming my fave pen, though #3 is giving it a run for its money. 3. Wancher dream pen akatamanuri in B, paired with mont blanc poppy red 4. Visconti hs bronze age in M, with iroshizuku yama budo 5. Delta fantasia turquoise in B, with Lamy turquoise Yeah, i like my pens wet 😁 i want them to bleed through the cheap paper in the office and for the ink to smear my fingers and get into my nails.... I have a problem 🤪

1. a Bic I bought while paying for gas 2. an old Bic with the cap missing 3. Some Bic pen I found on the bus...sweet! 4. A Bic refill with a bunch of rubber bands wrapped around it for grip 5. a pencil OK - not funny - sorry; let's see: 1. Namiki Urushi "vermilion" [M #50, cursive italic] (w/Bishamon-ten, a lovely red ink. This is a100th anniversary ink. I hope there's a permanent equivalent added to the Iroshizuku line of inks) 2. Visconti Homo Sapiens [EF] - "Bronze Swirl" (I use blue inks, often Edelstein, because it's a demonstrator and I want to avoid staining) 3. Pelikan M800 classic green pinstripe [B] 4. Stipula Etruria Valtiberina Alter Ego 31/88 celluloid [1.1 stub] 5. Namiki "Golden Pheasant" [M] These are all fantastic writers. The Visconti is perfect I've never had a problem even after sitting for months! And it lasts forever with the reservoir, but there's something about the large Urushi pen that makes it my favourite. And I can adjust the wetness of the Urushi very slightly by opening the "tail" which is nice. The Pelikan is so so so smooth I love that pen. The celluloid of the Stipula makes it one of my most beautiful pen, but I needed to self-nib-meister the hell out of that nib before it wrote well. The Nippon Art Namiki is a beauty and like all Pilots I've used it writes perfectly (and buttery) - right down the line even my Pilot Prera with a steel nib is great.

I love Elysee pens because their barrels and caps are made of metal. I dropped them hundred times and nothing bad happened. Pity that the brand is out of business. I wanna try a Retro 51, but they are not available in Poland. I prefer pens with clips, I always afraid that clipless design pens roll to some obscure places. It happened to me once in a cafe and I had to say goodbye to my vintage pen. Parker is great. I am sure she looks after your pen collection ;-)
