Such an underrated comeback! Pentagon deserves better
@johnt26425 жыл бұрын
At least it's their second best selling album. I know there are people who said they fell off after Shine, but that was an outlier and a turning point. Thumbs Up and Genie:us are their best performing albums after positive.
@madamevastra89425 жыл бұрын
@@johnt2642 Love that you note that! I also like to add that Genius did better than Thumbs Up and it only about 12k away from Positive it will probably end up near Positive in terms of sales. Since Genius is also their fastest selling album. It took sometime for Positive to get to 50k. I think it is a sign of growth and healing in the fandom. They are also being promoted pretty well right now and are constantly doing something! I believe in them!

I can attest to this lmao I’m a new universe, got into the fandom because of Kino And I. JUST. CANT. STOP. LISTENING. TO. THIS. SONG. SINCE. THREE. DAYS. AGO. I’m not even exaggerating I’ve been only listening to this song on repeat so I’ve probably heard it for 60 times Hui is a Genius
@iamvoldy45833 жыл бұрын
i dont know why but all of their songs are really really good! they deserve recognition but enlisting started! anyway we are getting jinho back soon but hongseok will leave, power vocal back but honey vocal will have to go. i dont know if they'll get recognition before breaking up(i dont want to use the actual word)

Sha La La is genuinely Pentagon's best song. Shine was fantastic, but this one is just on another level. Hui created a masterpiece.
@violet-oi2kw3 жыл бұрын
Sha La La is DEFINITELY underrated but is actually A BOP! Even Hui, the composer, knows it. It's really sad how it didn't get recognition that it deserves. One of the reasons why is bcs of what happened before... you know, and Kino not being able to perform with them bcs of his injury that time. The song is very uplifting for Pentagon. Especially the part where Jinho sings, "I'm not a loser from yesterday/before, I'm better now," hits so much. I know I'm commenting this late and I know Pentagon is in a better moment right now in Nov, 2020. I'm just so happy that Kevin appreciates Sha La La bcs his opinion holds so much power as he is a great musician and a music analyst (imo). As always, stan Pentagon!

Maybe the piano is representing them moving on from shine? Since they had the iconic piano riff at the beginning of that. But that's just an idea

I definitely is. The teaser showed the piano with funeral type flowers on top. And in airport photos Hui sported a bag with the words naughty boy and i'm a loser crossed out. This was the third album in their PTG concept set. (P)ositive was about being unsure and scared to be yourself. (T)humbs Up was challenging authority and finding your voice. (G)enie us is about finally being free, telling people how it's going to be, and finding your way through the struggles to a better place.

Thank you so much for reacting to Pentagon, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! There is a theory within the fandom that the piano represents Shine (due to the iconic opening piano), and the smashing of it is symbolic of them moving on from that era and being wholly represented by it and the obvious obstacles that it was shortly followed by. There are other hints to it throughout the song - both Jinho and Yanan's verses contain direct lyrical comparisons, and there are also subtle moves in the full choreography that are copied from Shine's. It's an upsetting image for sure, but I do think they meant well ;) thank you so much again for the reaction!
