Jacqui is convincing with the lows of her voice as with highs. Perfect singer.

I love the cheeky look on Jacqui's face when she "thinks of what we're gonna do".

Always loved Pentangle. One of the best folk bands from the British Isles in the 1960s. The Incredible String Band were amazing too. I met Danny Thompson in 1994 in Watford ( UK) shopping centre. I always hold the door open for whoever is behind me. Low and behold this time it was Danny Thompson and his wife. We had a chat for a couple of minutes. Very sweet, humble and down to earth gentleman. Top flight musician too.

Yes! Love Danny's bass solo and Jacqui 's singing and looks here. What is it about this band? The unique mix of folk, jazz and early music!

Based on "All Blues " from the Miles Davis classic KIND OF BLUE album. Of course I had no idea of this back in the 60s.

People say to me, "Oh you like Pentangle, you must like all folk music" Er, no. I just really really really like Pentangle. No band like them. An ethereal mix of magic and music. Blues and folk and jazz, early music and fairy stories. I heard this particular piece was inspired by a Miles Davis track.

It's based on Miles' 'All Blues'. Also check out Tim Buckley's 'Strange Feeling' recorded 1967 - almost identical to this. Miles was a strong influence on Folk during this period - a lot of the folk musicians of the time were also heavily into Jazz (that includes Donovan - check out his Live in LA album from the same period).

All Blues, on the album Kinda Blue.

I'm struck by the similarity in chord structure to Miles Davis' "All Blues"
@JentschChris Жыл бұрын
Totally...it's a straight up contrafact that borrows not only the chord progression, but also the time signature, groove, and bass line. But I clicked on it because I thought it might be a Beatles cover, but...not.

After listening to the trash of modern music, 2 seconds into this, and that's all it takes to lean back, finger off the skip button.
