Not only is Jacqui gorgeous; but her voice is perfect and beautiful like an angel’s and the style as well. Fabulous band. I love this amazing band as a whole and as separate musicians. Been listening to them for decades! ❤️

Can we get some love for Terry Cox’s drumming on this one…

Wonderful, eclectic, thanks for the post!

They had a wonderful melting pot of folk and jazz (certainly in the rhythm section of Cox and Thompson) and the lighter end of rock to these ears at least. And they made those odd time signatures sound so natural and flowing, fantastic band….

I first listened to their albums in 1971 when my girlfriend, later first wife, was into them, Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention. Marriage was a disaster, but still love the music

Amongst many other things, I really like the “Bo Diddly” beat in this one.

one of the timeless bands, with its very unique style anddynamics, always quite enchanting... "Circles" by Emerson comes to mind.

I first heard a vinyl album of theirs in early 70’s. ? Maybe it was 12th century. 🤷♂️ It impressed me as medieval jazz. The bassist is truly a rare talent. They all are of course.

Two of the best guitarists ever to grace the folk genre. Hear Johnny Marr talk about Bert Jansch. Then the jazz influence from Terry Cox and Danny Thompson coupled with Jacqui's voice made the band unique. Seen them many times over the years -always a brilliant show.

This piece is extraordinary. It's in a "5" meter; either 5/4 or 5/8 I believe. Ms. McShee, whose voice blends so beautifully, isn't necessarily the soloist at all times, but sometimes sounded more like an equal part of the ensemble's texture. Pentangle was an exceptional group. Dare I say it consisted of intelligent musicians? I think it was.

So beautiful. Like no time has passed. Jacquie voice shows maturing and new beauty. We need time machine to live through the past events in the today's time and space. 30years ago Pentangle opened my eyes, to look under the hood.

I'm not quite with it yet.If this is 2008 is it the 5 original Pentangle musicians I can see and hear? Sounds great! Yes thanks I'm with it now. How well her voice has held up; although she did look as if she was falling backwards at one point. Brilliant ! and I kind of think there maybe a few more releases in the future.

According to Wikipedia this was the original line up, they reformed specifically for this performance.

Loved the whole performance. It is so refreshing to hear a live performance, instead of a lip-syncing autotuned bunch of crap.

I;m old enough to remember them from my youth however Pentangle flew well and truly under my radar. Only found them recently via the fabulous zakia sewell.
