That is cool. Does it work for any key? So the idea is to simply move up a half step and play the same penta shapes as the main key? So in Gminor Penta play Ab, In Dminor, play Eb penta and so on? Is it for any genre or work better in blues, etc?

I guess this is one way of sounding outside but it's a bit jarring, just playing modally and sliding to the pentatonic notes from the other notes in the scale makes you sound outside and is much smoother on the ear. also make use of that flat 5 and sharp 7 every now and again to give yourself that blues jazz fusion sound. ✌️

Nevermind. I got it. It seems to work best- any key over A SINGLE CHORD. Not sure if that is how most VAMPS work but now I think so. I was able to make some decent sounding improvisations. Clearly not as good as Jamey. My ears have to get used to this, but it's a start and very cool and creative to play outside of the scale. Will this work with say the major scale? Does it have to be a single chord progression? THANKS!

Did not work for me at all in blues pentatonic. Going up 1/2 step and playing the same penta shape sounded bad...and not in a good way.
