As a french person, I can tell you Scott nailed this, they all did really, love your reactions! 😊

He sounds Canadian-ish, or Canadian French speakers (not necessarily from Quebec) sound like him. Haha.
@yankumi6944 жыл бұрын
@@ailawil89 maybe! Never heard Canadian French outside of Québec and their French is very different from ours :) here I'm really impressed with his "R" sounds, I think that's where English speakers struggle the most..

This song was a huge hit in Europe when it came out! I’m not a native french speaker but from what I know I think it sounded really good, they hired a language coach to help them with the french for this song 😝
@Sweeney5414 жыл бұрын
They don't speak French, but they hired a French teacher to help them learn it properly. They've actually sung in a lot of different languages over the years, and I don't think any of them speak them fluently: French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Chinese (Kevin speaks Chinese, but he rarely sings). Oh, and the song is about a boy asking "father, where are you?". In the original it's a boy who has lost his father, but PTX made it about a boy whose father is more preoccupied with his work than his son.
@dianericciardistewart22244 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is correct. BTW, I am with you as far as the singing in different languages as I have done many as well in my earlier performing years. 💕💕💕

@Ofra Cohen I know they have 2 in Japanese: Perfume Medley and Pretender. But I believe they did some Chinense song - I think it was on the Chinese Sing-Off, but I'm not 100% certain

Some people don’t like this song but Ptx covered Gangnam Style by Psy a while back, when they were still doing cool sound effects. It’s in Korean and they do an incredible job of it! It’s just a fun song and I hope you will react to it! Have a nice day!

At this point I'm always surprised when you come up with new reactions to PTX, because you reacted to so many of their stuff, I'm always like: "is there anything left". But I mean, obviously there is, because their catalogue is huge. I'm sure there are things that I've missed too :D.

Great reaction! Please consider "See Through" (Mitch-led original), "Water" (Kirstie-led original), and their Perfume Medley where they sing in Japanese. Thanks!

I'll join you in a vote for Water. Too many reactors ignore it because it doesn't have a music video but it's a really good song. My favorite from that album is Cracked and no one reacts to it either. Water is probably 3 or maybe 4 on the album for me.

Yes - please also look at Stromae’s original - you can find it with Eng subs! P.S. Scott also sang their Gangnam Style cover in Korean - so he seems to be their ‘go-to’ person singing in foreign languages (although Kirstin sounds good in Japanese, and Mitch has a good accent in French!)

None of them speak French. The group has said in interviews that they were thrilled for Scott to take the lead on this because he has most of the hardest stuff. Just like he also learned Korean for their cover of Gangnam Style. I speak French (not a native speaker) and thought Scott did a really great job.

😩Missing your PENTATONIX reactions!! YES! It was French!! Scott took a CRASH COURSE to make sure he got the right pronunciation!! PENTATONIX also did one in Japanese!! (Kirstie is pretty good at speaking Japanese) "Perfume Medley" and in Korean they covered Gangnam Style (for this one check it till the end for the bloopers) Then they did the Despacito/Shape Of You Mashup where Kirstie uses her Latina roots for the Spanish lyrics!!!👏☺

This is a very interesting and unique video. Please check out the original video by a French singer, Stromae, which has 700M views. In this video, it's impressive that Scott learned all the words, although he doesn't actually speak French. The original video is about a boy whose Dad goes away to fight in a war and never returns, and he asks "Papa, where are you?" The bit at the beginning where the boy is turned away by his Dad is a take on this.
