Check out Kevin's solo stuff, its just ridiculous what the man can do musically. Cello, beatboxing, looping, keyboards etc etc. One of my favorites is 'Down' just search under Kevin Olusola. He calls them KOvers. Also as an FYI, he went to Yale for pre med studies before joining PTX.
@karmakkaze4 жыл бұрын
You forgot that he is fluent in Mandarin. Why? Because he is SUPERHUMAN. What else do you say about the man that CREATED Cello-boxing? React to his "Sign of the Times" cover and his "Down" cover!!

I know that "etc etc" is a catchall, but the instrument that you don't see unless you specifically look for it is the saxophone. He is fluent in that, also.

Lol... I was shocked by the exactitude of Kevin’s bongo sound and that little scrappy thing and then the trumpet! I think pretty much all of Mitch’s fan love his free spirit in styles. He’s adorable and it takes a lot of confidence and dare to go for it the way he does. I also love the colour scheme on this video, very exotic. Their stylist is killing! They all look amazingly beautiful. Great cover! I enjoyed your reaction. 🤗

I know it’s really hard to find a good place to stop but a great policy when you do you have to stop is to back it up five seconds so that you maintain the integrity of what you’re listening to and you don’t miss anything really cool. There is an old video on YT of him getting an award when he was in high school and he plays the sax and is put on the spot to perform his secret new passion ... beatboxing LOL

That lip caterpillar is his Freddy Mercury disguise. That invisible trumpet is a Fluggle horn. The cello he plays is not invisible. If you want us to recommend what to hear we can keep you here all day. Everything they do is golden. Do you like Christmas songs? whether you do or not you'll love "The First Noel" (or any of the dozens they do.) They don't have a video to it but they do the BEST version of "Boogy Woogie Bugle Boy" out there. Now that you're a newly hatched Pentaholic have you tried Home Free? No competition here, Pentaholics and Home Fries like them both. Look or "In The Blood" and "Champaign Taste"
@nanaakuapokuaa81554 жыл бұрын
Matt is soo talented and I pray this Avi web from some of the pentaholic will one day fade and we all appreciate his talent.. Did you all noticed when Kevin was doing the flute sound it was Matt that was doing the beat boxing and still in bass... A youtuber noticed it and it's few ppl who gets it too... Watch it with keen eyes and don't be blown away by the harmonies

I totally agree with you!! I love Avi, but Matt is sooo amazing and I feel like he gave them a new spark when he joined them!!
@carolynl.higgins62063 жыл бұрын
Yes Nana great comments and observations. I'll look for Matt's beatboxing. Some people (I hesitate to say pentaholics, because I feel a true pentaholic would root for the group) intentionally troll and disparage Matt whenever a reactor or commenter recognizes his skills or beautiful voice. Often one can feel the personal ire and disdain for this young man. Why!?! They are obsessed with comparing. It is quite disrespectful and immature. I've watched old videos with everyone messing up. Pentaholics compiled blooper videos way before Matt got there. But I guess it was just called "being human" before Matt came. So what has Matt done but come in doing an exceptional job, showing growth exponentially compared to the time period the rest of PTX had to grow and having a wonderful time just being himself and what PTX wants and needs. He has a beautiful "no drama" spirit, and God has given him the power to shake it off. Continued prayers for Matt and this excellent band.

"Intentional" was the perfect comment. Nothing is left to chance. They plan exactly when they will take breaths so there is never a gap. Some of the sounds they make take 2 people in perfect coordination. They alter their tone to match or contrast the person they are singing with at the moment. Precision so perfect it seems spontaneous because there is still room to improvise.

Another great reaction - if you're after recommendations, one that is sometimes overlooked is their collaboration with Jason Derulo (If I ever Fall in love ) I ac tually think he blends really well with PTX (hard to do a 6th harmony with an established 5 part)... Kevin is a BEAST!! Here's what I have read about him in a nutshell. He is terrifically smart - was originally going to go to medical school but chose Pentatonix! He is the only member of the group with perfect pitch. He plays cello, piano, and probably several other instruments. He has played cello with the famous Yo-Yo Ma. He has lived and studied in China - he speaks fluent Chinese (Mandarin?) and Spanish. He, as well as the other Pentatonix members (with maybe the exception of Matt?) have released their own music apart from Pentatonix. Kevin has several notable ones - he has a cover of the Marian Hill song "Down" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3jNmGRvaM1nhc0&ab_channel=KO). Kevin also wrote and performed his own creation called "Renegade" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/naDYmoxuatB3aNE&ab_channel=KO). ALL of the members of Pentatonix are just incredibly talented and gifted, but arguably none more than Kevin. Some of us think that, although he is a cello-boxer extraordinaire, we would like to hear him do a little more singing in the music videos sometimes! Great reaction! Thank you!!

Great reaction. Mitch-stache didn't last long. If you get in to some of their older stuff, watch out. Mitch's looks change dramatically over time. The saying is that if you wonder "Is that Mitch?" it's Mitch. He gains weight. He loses weight. Sometimes wears glasses. Hair changes a lot. He doesn't always look like the same person, but always sounds like Mitch. On that, do try some of their older work: Daft Punk Medley will blow your mind. And it won them their first Grammy. Hallelujah, hard to believe human voices can make such beautiful sounds. Bohemian Rhapsody has to be heard to be believed! Imagine, no spoilers but, it's moving. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - not a single word and they won a Grammy with it. Love Again is an amazing original that doesn't get near enough reactions. You said you like bass? Sing is just fun. Kevin's "trumpet" playing goes all the way back to their Sing Off performances. If you're really gonna be a Pentaholic, you'll eventually have to go through all of them, in order. See how it all started. Enjoy the journey. We're having fun riding along with you.
