I liken them to a set of interchangable Barbie dolls. Just switch the heads and bodies and you got a new sound. Matt and Scott ... interchangeable. Mitch and Kirstie ... interchangeable. Kevin's kind of on his own. However, both Matt and Scott have helped on beats, Mitch on the stomp pad occasionally. So, maybe interchangeable feet.

Usually PTX take an awesome song and make it even more awesome, but it's probably even more impressive when they take a mediocre song (maybe that's unfair because the underlying song did have a good structure, I just felt it suffered from poor execution as Charlie Puth's voice sounded weak & strained in it - idk maybe that was the uncomfortable sound he was going for, since it's the first time I'd heard anything by him watching his version in your vid of it) and make it slap hard. And as per usual, it's once again a million times better than the original. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a pretty good song writer, the underlying melody was promising, the rhythm section was the strongest for me, musically; the bass line on the original was very funky and so good...and then Matt took that and blew it out of the water with just his voice. Maybe I'm being harsh, idk, I just felt Charlie's voice lacked, but then I guess I've grown used to listening to some amazingly talented singers like the members of PTX, so maybe it's an unfair comparison? 🤷 Anyway, in conclusion the PTX version wins again.

I love PTX videos because you’re usually focusing on their talent, creativity & the song itself. I’m not supposed to get lost in a video drama to distract me from the fact that I’m listening to an over produced pop song by an average singer who probably is pretty or some cute guy. Pentatonix has all of it and don’t need to distract or hide. You’’ get inundated with Pentatonix requests. For something different - I’d love to see you react to Brian Justin Crum. I’d recommend starting with his 1st 2 auditions on AGT. Queen’s Somebody to Love and followed up with Radiohead’s Creep. Many choose these song on these talent shows much Crum chose songs that showcase his power & control. Brian May liked it so much he asked Crum to sing a few gigs in the Queen tour of their musical We Will Rock You. He was on stage with Queen’s May & Taylor - holy cow. I have a few other Crum song suggestions but those are the 2 I’d recommend you start with. ✌️💚
