With KO singing, the harmonies can be more complex, which results in that dark, haunting feeling. This one cuts me deep every time I hear it.

"Enough Pentatonix. Have a word with yourself, mate." I laughed so hard I missed the start of the song and had to start the video over! Perfect! There's so much I could say about "Run to You" but everybody needs to know this one amazing fact about the video. Jamie Antonelle has already mentioned it, but I'm going to move my reply to Jamie up here, to be sure you don't miss it. Did you happen to notice how the confetti is sometimes falling and sometimes rising? It's true. The confetti falls down through the verses, but drifts back up during the choruses. To make that happen, PTX learned to lip-sync just that phrase--"I'll run to you"--backwards. And that's how they filmed that part. I don't know where I first heard the story, but somewhere in the depths of the pages of comments on the PTXOfficial vid there is a post from Bill Hale, a Grammy-winning music producer who has worked with PTX (and also with Nota, the a cappella group from Puerto Rico who won the first season of the Sing-Off). Mr. Hale confirmed the story and gave more details. Just to be sure, I found his website and got an email address and wrote to him, wondering if it was really him or just somebody using his name. He wrote back and confirmed it all. So, this legend that is a favorite among Pentaholics is completely true!

I'm noticing a pattern of everybody who just wants to watch one or two Pentatonix videos ends up binging them, me included. Not even just on youtube, all my friends do it too. I mean obviously they are insanely talented and work better together than any other group I have ever seen. But I think it's the warm, genuine, and loving vibe you get when watching them that makes them so likable. Once you take a step into the hole that is PTX there is no climbing out. Trust me, I'm living proof.

You heard two more originals the other night during your mini-concert: Love Again & On my Way Home. Their originals show their diversity and varied musical influences, as all 5 members contribute. Almost immediately you know this song meant something to all of them. There was a sense of urgency and conviction in their voices. I am always amazed that this group can, after a blitz of their music, still grab us by the (insert your adjective here), and leave us grasping for words to describe what just happened. I'll admit that at times there is so much new and exciting artists and musical styles coming out. It only takes one song to remind us that we can never again let this group go so long between listenings. I appreciate your reactions so much, because they are genuine and most definitely heart-felt. agree with other commentors that Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, and Love Again are some of their best originals. However, my most favorite original song/video is Sing. 2nd fav video is Can't Sleep Love. What I love about Sing, is that they had fans send in clips of themselves singing the song and they incorporated some of those clips into their video. At the end, they got a lot of their fans out on a pier and filmed them just having a good time...great concept and loved that they included their fans. and also agree with you that you can NEVER get enough Pentatonix...that statement you made proves you are a true Pentaholic!!! Love it :)

In addition to being a moving and beautiful song, it's one of the rare cases of not doing a "rhythm section" with Kevin's beatboxing and Avi's (or Matt's) bass, but rather beautiful 5-part harmonies... this was probably the first song where Kevin had a significant singing part (he has a really nice tenor voice, which they've used much more often, although usually in smaller bits... he was very prominent in "Imagine").

Loved your reaction! It's one of their videos where the mood just overtakes you. An interesting note - During the chorus when the snowflakes are going up, they learned to say the words backwards, and then reversed the video and sang over it. The chorus only has four words so it wasn't too hard, and it's an interesting effect. This song was written and arranged by Avi, who studied opera composition in college. I don't know if you've reacted to "PTX Aha! Singapore The Star Vista" (filmed by Shane Nicole) The choral part at the beginning of that one was also from Avi.

You should also do a reaction to Light in the Hallway. I believe it was written by Scott, but they all agreed to have Avi take the lead. They used to close their concerts with it that last year Avi was with them. I think I recall reading somewhere that they had to learn to sing this backward for the video, the way it was filmed. I could be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere.

In a recent prequel of PTXPERIENCE World Tour #0, they all mentioned that they're making new music for a new album, but even more exciting is they're making original music! I don't know if their next CD is going to be nothing but original music, but I am thrilled that they're making more original music! "Light in the Hallway" is an absolutely beautiful song that Scott wrote (with some help from Mitch) for his first nephew when he was born. They never made an official video out of it, but it is easily accessible. I'll tell you how in a second. First, they performed it in concert and they'd come off the stage and stand close together in a semicircle like a traditional acapella performance. in front of them, dwad-center there would be one microphone on a stool and beside that a lightbulb 💡. They had no earpieces in and no individual mics, so the audience had to be extremely quiet. One fabulous thing about Pentatonix fans is that they have total self-control and each audience became absolutely silent so that Pentatonix could hear each other and the audience could hear them. Scott wrote it with the intent of Avi singing it. And it is beautiful! There are many uploads from fans of this song being performed in concert on KZbin. It's also on their self-titled album. You've just got to check out "Light in the Hallway" !

They have a whole album of original songs - which does include three covers to keep to their roots - but they proved right out the gate they are more than just a cover band. They are a talented group of musicians. They even have a couple of originals on an album before that. This particular composition has Avi's fingerprints all over it. His compositions are easy to indentify. It was executed with masterful precision. They flawlessly applied crescendos and decrescendos, perfectly in-sync dissident chords, and equal passion. There is a reason we are called Pentaholics. And we are our own support group without a problem to solve. My only problem is figuring out how the fuck they do this. FEED US MORE!

Pentatonix is working on their second full album of originals right now. (Their first album of all original songs--save one--came out in 2015.) This song, however, was written earlier (it was on their EP PTX Volume II, in 2913). The new album will be released sometime after they start their world tour, and some of the songs from the album will be performed first on the tour (an inducement to see them live, as if that was needed). They've only announced the first leg of the tour, which is in North America, but I am sure that they will be announcing future legs. Their first world tour, in 2016-2017, had seven legs and spanned 17 months, including four shows in Australia and one in New Zealand. Pentatonix has quite a following in Australia, so I suspect that they will include it in their tour.

Mitch absolutely /nailed/ that breathier "run" part. Having sung that song for choir before, it's a /very/ difficult switch to get right.
