Listen to their original Light In The Hallway, for a good dose of Avi’s voice. Scott (and Mitch?) wrote the song for Scott’s newborn nephew, but wanted Avi to take lead because that’s whose voice he heard when writing it.

Kevin is a high tenor. The bass is usually taken over by Scott, when Matt (or prior Avi) is having a solo. (best seen in the second verse of Halleluja or in their Sound of Silence video).

Avi started a solo career after leaving PTX. He is AWESOME! And the range he has from those sub-woofer deep notes to a beautiful higher falsetto range. You should definitely check him out!! ❤ Love this one by PTX but also feel that they could sing the news paper and I would love it. 🤣 🙌🏻

Listen to them sing "Shallow" also to hear Kirstie really singing - you have heard "Hallelujah", yes? Avi sings "up" some in that and Scott takes the bass

I think the solemness is supposed to emote a sad or somber mood. Kirstie looks like she has been crying for a week over a broken relationship. Kirstie is amazing! Check her out in “The Wizard of Ahhhs”, “My Favorite Things”, “Shallow”, “O Holy Night”…

They were going for that they were a painting. That’s why they didn’t move.

Yeah, but it was Scott who suffered the most for not moving, as you see Scott was gripping really hard on the back of the Kirsty and Kevin's chairs...LOL

They wanted this to look like a family portrait, one of the really old ones where the film was so slow that people had to be totally still for several minutes in order to get the picture. Did you notice Scott holding onto the backs of two chairs? That was because it was the only way he could find to keep his hands still while singing.

Check out Pentatonix with Avi singing the lead on the song "Light in the Hallway. If i'm not mistaken, it was a song written by Scott for his nephew.😊

One of the things I enjoyed when seeing them on tour last year was that they decided to go with a "casual look" for their wardrobe, that harked back to these early days when their outfits looked like what "normal people" wore, and made them very relatable in those early days. The more stylish outfits they generally go with onstage are amazing, but there's just something about that "everyday Joe" look that a lot of us still really like.

I know that they were on tour when they filmed this and I believe that Kirsten was very sick when they filmed this video. Obviously the vocals were recorded separately. ♥️ Love your reactions!! 🙌🏻

One of Kirstin's eyebrow rings had gotten infected, so she was in some pain when the video was filmed. If you look closely, her right eyelid droops a bit. But it all makes her appearance very appropriate for the tone of the song.

Kevin is not a bass but a tenor. Mitch and Kirstin have actually said Kevin is higher than either of their voices believe it or not. LOL

This is one of the earliest songs by PTX where Kirstie was the clear featured soloist. If you love her voice (as I do!) you should also check out "Sing" (an original by them) and "Seasons of Love" (there's a video from the PBS 4th of July special). She absolutely slays it in both of those.

Even though Avi's lowest notes have actually blown out speakers in live performances his range extends upward to about the middle of a normal tenor range. (Matt's voice goes even higher than that; he comes very close to the top of a normal tenor range.) If you want another work where Kirstin really shines, try watching "Todrick Hall - The Wizard of Ahhhs (ft. Pentatonix)": kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5y5ln6YZ86aqMk It's an homage to _"The Wizard of Oz"_ (the 1939 film starring Judy Garland) and it won't make sense if you've never seen the original, so take care of that first, but once you have, well, Kirstin really shone in it. She sang all three major female roles: Dorothy Gale, the Wicked Witch of the West Side, and Glinda the Good Witch. Todrick posted it to his KZbin channel just two months after Kirstin's twenty-first birthday, so we're talking Babytonix here. Scott played the Scarecrow; Mitch played the Tin Man; Avi went full basso profundo as the Cowardly Lion; and Kevin played Dorothy's little dog Toto (they were running out of characters and needed Kevin to be in every scene).

Kevin is not a bass or even a baritone. Vocally he’s a tenor.

Zuko was barking in time to the music, singing along. I think it was triggered by the almost staccato way they were singing: "Say. Some. Thing. ..."

Kevin is not "bass-ey" singer, but he has an incredible range...the beatboxing makes it seem like he is a bass but he is not

Girl, FACT CHECK: You and Josy reacted to PTX's cover of "Hallelujah" a little over a year ago, where Avi sang the second verse in his upper register like he did on his solo here. Don't fib, and say you've never heard him sound this way before, when you certainly have.

That's a little harsh. Reactors listen to a great deal of different artists, and can't be expected to remember everything they hear.
