Pentatonix Sings @ Moore ES Talent Show Before Sing-Off Win

Pentatonix, started the annual 2011 Mary Moore ES, Arlington TX, talent show singing three songs. They were great, even though the bass members did not perform. They also did a performance, earlier in the week, at Martin HS, their Alma Mater.

I think this video just proves that there is a difference between The Trio and Pentatonix. Like don't get me wrong The Trio are great. But PENTATONIX are out of this world.

It's a good thing you needed 5 people to compete in The Sing Off. The "trio" are good, but they wouldn't have won without the meat and potatoes.

Shawn Stockman is definitely right in saying that Avi and Kevin are the meat and potatoes of Pentatonix. It just does not sound like Pentatonix without those two. With that being said, these three sound amazing! I looked at some of their videos back when they were still "The Trio" and they are really good. But they definitely became better with the attention of a rhythm section

This performance gives me a greater appreciation for both their singing and Kevin and Avi's baseline. Without the bass and special effects, they still have a great sound, but it doesn't compare to the full 5.

Whoo! Go Pentatonix! Their harmonies are sooo good! Though without Kevin and Avi it's not truly Pentatonix (Video Killed the Radio Star especially!) but it's still amazing! I really hope they win!!

@mitchgrassi The more I listen to you sing the more I hear these crazy transitions like at 3:01 where you completely seamlessly go from falsetto into middle voice and back again without ever going through head...
