You're correct, it's Italian... and most people guess Spanish 😄 The original was the Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli (and Celine Dion). Scott worked with an Italian tutor for six weeks to get the pronunciation as good as he possibly could.

What some people also don't know, is that it was in The Quest for Camelot movie. Whoever wrote the song wrote it for Celine to sing in the movie, and Andrea for the Italian version of the movie. Then it eventually got turned into a duet.

Hi there! First time viewer! As a partially deaf person, captions are always a plus. However I felt you were a little far from your mic so it was hard to understand you at times. I was constantly adjusting my volume(on the computer at the moment so it was easy but sometimes we watch on the tv) because your intro music was loud, then you were quiet, then the PTX video was louder than you were. Pure Pentatonix Perfection. Everything about this is perfection - the arrangement, the vocals, the ear candy, the videography, the message. Mitch singing so clear and pure, hitting each note perfectly with those runs and vibratos. Scott's baritone on the operatic presentation in Italian. Kirstie belting those sharp notes. Matt keeping the bass undertone. Kevin with drums and clashing cymbals. All of them together harmonizing, rising to the crescendo and Mitch coming in again. The stunning videography. Just beautiful. PTX do not do anything in a studio, that they don't do exactly the same on stage. Also, they don't do covers, they enhance them. They are truly amazing and have laid the ground work for other a Capella groups that are coming out now. Original singers Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli.

As we all know Pentatonix is an incredibly diverse group of talented individuals, and their taste in music is so widely spread between all five of them. Not many people actually realize that this is a mashup arrangement. The first half with Mitch and Scott's duet in Italian, is the traditional Celine Dion and Andrea bocelli version. However the second half is the gospel cover version of the song done by Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin. Not many people realize that, but majority of Pentatonix grew up loving gospel music, and it is present in quite a few of their songs. Thanks for the reaction, but to piggyback on other people there was some issues with your audio. Good luck on the next one and be careful with the copyright gods they are very crucial when it comes Pentatonix 🙏🏾❤️

I highly recommend you search this song performed live. Even if you don't film a reaction. They performed it live for a TV show, can't remmember which one. It's amazing how close it is to the studio version. I personally like it better. And Mitch sounds exactly the same, it's unbelievable.
