Also don't wear gloves with magnetic catches in them. I did last winter. I could get the calibration to work. I nearly sent the camera away for repair. The magnets interfere with the GPS unit. I found out by accident when I got home and took my gloves off. Lesson learned.

Do you find useful using the smartphone to focus in the dark where you have to focus Little stars?

Thanks for the video! Is it possible to use the gps from the phone? Will you share your star photos with the settings (iso/aperture/time)? Thanks!

You should use 2s timer, not 12s since 2s lifts the mirror directly. 12s lifts the mirror just before the shot. Use together with remote control. Or, has this behaviour been changed on this model?

What if you are using Astrotracer on a GoTo mount? Does the dual movements conflict and mess up the images?
@laurentldoldi8403 жыл бұрын
I used the Astrotracer with my KP, excellent. I have just purchased a K-3 III and I am wondering what are the Type 1 and Type 2 Astrotracer modes? (a half-speed mode to get the ground les blurred?)

Seem so. But i Will never use : type 2 brings star trails anyway and i hate them

Where did you buy the Pentax GPS unit ?
@PentaxTips3 жыл бұрын
I’ve bought two of them second hand. They can be purchased at any camera store for about $250 CAD: www.mcbaincamera.com/productdetail.php?mcbain_id=0275108
