It gave us a weak, not even intimidating villian of a main character that we can't even relate to and it also downgraded two great characters that we once loved. Kathleen has no desire to support boys and their transition into men and she didn't have any interest or respect for Star Wars in general.

I'm convinced this is the best timeline. Luke has great success in his initial dream of serving the empire, palpatine is dead, Vader can no longer terrorize the galaxy and I'm convinced that especially with Luke's influence seeing that luke is thrawn's right hand, Thrawn would be an at least semi-compassionate ruler as he would likely know that being a dick to the galaxy would just cause uprising.
@TarsonTalon2 жыл бұрын
You might say he brought balance to the Force. Speaking of which, I wonder if either Thrawn or Luke would become curious and investigate the Force themselves. Probably a Grey Order, that is a lot less religious and far more utilitarian.

I really like how this turned out. I've heard several What Ifs for Luke joining the Imperial Academy, and while they go differently, they all follow him joining his father's side and becoming Sith. It's quite refreshing to see Luke follow a path of a pilot and wind up under the cunning guidance of Thrawn. As well, your story had the prophecy come true in several different forms. Darth Vader (still Anakin Skywalker) killed Palpatine, leaving one crippling blow to the Dark side, then Leia, a skywalker, killed Vader, bringing an end to the Sith, and finally, Luke Skywalker killed Leia, leaving Obi Wan and Yoda to pass away of old age and end the Jedi, leaving the force entirely neutral and balanced in Luke who was affiliated with neither religion, his only concern being with serving his new Emperor in Thrawn.

The most glaring change, being the way the Jedi view the Sith and dark side in general. The quick and easy path indeed? How many generations of Sith from Bane onward, were there secretly and methodically putting the pieces in place, and positioning their successors one step closer to the end game? How long was the game Plagues and Palps played, to get that check mate move, Darth Jar Jar set up in ep 3? I was thinking that would be a great setup for a part 2 of this. Leia gets away, Luke hunts her down, Thrawn reorganizes the Empire. Heck, maybe somehow Maul reveals himself to Luke since he'll still be lurking around, obsessed with revenge. Thrawn would certainly piece together that Vader revealed he was Luke's father and he was one of the few who knew Vader's past. Luke would need to learn the Force from someone if he were to hunt Leia and Ezra, who he knew about, and Ashoka and Cal, who were still out there. A "Rule of Two" between Maul as a criminal underworld kingpin and Luke as an Imperial Grand Admiral would be an awesome dynamic.

Talk about a twist ending, and I LOVE IT! Luke joining the Imperial Academy would have given him a better life as a pilot and vice-admiral in the Imperial Navy. And who knew Luke is good at his job and felt like Luke being a vice admiral would suit him best, and being similar to Thrawn would make him his equal. Not until Darth Vader ( Anakin Skywalker) sabotaged Luke's work to join his side. At least Vader is impressed his son is doing more time focusing on his projects and at least cares about his interests. But Leia being gunned down by Luke is very dark and almost sad, for Luke does not realize he just murdered his long-lost sister in cold blood, and it could be far worse if Bail Organa learned her adopted daughter was murdered, and Obi-Wan might have gone into a deep depression. On the bright side, Thrawn became the new Emperor of the Galatic Empire; at least a galactic empire under Thrawn would be way better than Sidious since he plans to live forever. I imagine Thrawn forming his new political dynasty, Vurawn-Skywalker Dynasty, with Thrawn as Emperor and Luke as his heir. Too evil Vader wouldn't have Luke as his apprentice and would be pissed at Thrawn for becoming the new Emperor and making Luke his heir if he were forced ghost, and Palpatine would have been way angrier if Thrawn is now taking his place as Emperor. What is your personal opinion, Mr. Pente Patrol? My two great what-if ideas are: What if Anakin was taken in by Satine Kyrze, Duchess of Mandalore, when he was kicked out by the Jedi Order for being too emotional as a young padawan? What role would Satine play for Anakin, and what his relationship be with Bo Katan? What if the Clone Wars instead becomes the Mobile Wars with dark force users piloting mechas? Do you prefer the descendants of the siths driving these machines, or do you want new enemies for the Jedi? Anyway, this is great; what if video, my friend, and may the force be with you!!

In the original story, Luke was faced with what many young men in our history were faced with. That joining the army (whatever army was offered) was the only way to get away from the poverty and drudgery of a life in their home towns. In return for service, Luke would have gotten training, an education, room and board and some financial support, gotten away from a planet he hated and gotten a chance to travel and learn to fly. To make some sort of life and future for himself. Plus he would be able to send money back to his family. To his way of thinking, it was a perfect solution. It is an old story, one that has been going on in human history for as long as there has been history. Owen apparently did not have anything much against the Empire, as one would expect from poor subsistence farmers who live far from any city or from any of the depredations of the Empire. He, in turn, did not raise Luke to hate the Empire. To them, like to many people who are just trying to live and get along, who is doing the ruling makes very little difference. What difference did it make if the Republic or the Empire ruled? It was all the same to their lives. To farmers like Owen and Luke, the Empire was very far away, and had very little to do with their lives. They had never suffered from any actions of the Empire. So there was no animosity in Luke toward the Empire-----until the Empire gave him a reason. Actually I never really did understand the bloodlust that the Empire showed. Why did the Stormtroopers leave a trail of death and destruction in their wake in searching for the droids with the stolen plans? What difference would it make if a few farmers and Jawas knew the Empire was looking for a couple of droids? No one could have known why, and the only thing they did was draw attention to their actions. When the Stormtroopers searched the town, they were not slaughtering everyone in sight. So why the massacre of the Jawas and the murder of Owen and Beru? Just for fun? for the hell of it? Just because they're the bad guys? What makes the idea of Luke joining the Empire's army so interesting is how Obi wan would have reacted and what the Empire would have done if they discovered Luke's power in the Force. Because the Empire was going out of their way to eliminate---or pervert---Force users. If they even did discover it. Luke himself did not know, and with no one to teach him, he might only have remained a talented pilot. It seems unlikely that he would ever have come to the attention of Darth Vader or the Emperor. Would Luke, after seeing some of the depredations of the Empires' forces have eventually joined the Rebellion anyway? Would he and Obi-wan ever have met at all? It makes for interesting speculation.

One thing to keep in mind, if Luke would have joined Biggs and the rest of the group as planned they would have had a group sense of loyalty, not only to themselves, but those that supported the group, aka the Empire. Add to it the accolades and promotions received by the group in this story, it would not surprise me at all for them to give up on their original idea to join the Rebellion and stay with the Empire. I think them not going as a group is what made Biggs want to get out of the Empire and back to his friends as soon as he could.

@@RCracer7223 Plus, Luke was doing REALLY well and shooting up in the ranks enough to perhaps make a difference from the inside... and with Vader stalking around at random due to interest in Luke's projects, defecting would probably end up with a rather merciless end before they even got out of weapons range in a ship.

Honestly I have to say this is by far one of the best videos you've done so far, I like the creativity imagination and the willingness to separate from the original story. it all fits and it all makes perfect sense. The only thing that didn't make very much sense was the point of getting all of the smaller kyber crystals to function, I thought that working with covered crystals was like the equivalent of working with uranium, and the reason that they went with the larger crystals was because they were more stable then the smaller ones. For example of how unstable the smaller ones are may I respectfully remind you of the lightsaber rifle?

TIEs are great fighters. They're faster than Xwings, have incredible firepower with their twin lasers (3 shots per movie frame as opposed to 1 for an Xwing) and compliment the Star Destroyers well. Shields are overrated since at best they fend off one or two shots. Imperial casualties were so high because the Rebels repeatedly used the same few squadrons, meaning their pilots had on average much more experience than the imperials, who were spread out far more.

I remember that, long long ago, in the Legends/Exp.Univ. there was at least one version of an *ending for the whole series* where “Empire” (or whatever the name was for the similar “nemesis-type” group at that moment) does win over “the *good* protagonist force” but there’s no force sensitive people at all left alive anymore, and the “until that point evil Empire regime” just slowly becomes a nicer type of governance.

There's a lot of great thought put into this. As, yes, one of the 1977 Boots On The Ground Tail Gunner Boomers, this has gone on for possibly more years than you know. Luke is actually 20 when we meet the Lars family in "Star Wars:First Of Its Name" (it received "episode IV" and "A New Hope' in 1983), his age established by Alan Dean Foster's (ghost writing for GL) introduction of '..Twice the age of the ten-year-old Vaporator he stood beside" (a little artistic license) and then a very terse dinner, Owen's excuses are wearing thinner and everyone knows it -- and results in the ultimate teenage angst tantrum employed throughout the galaxy (guilty) "Yeah, that's what you said when Biggs and Tank left... *huff* ... push away from table ..."Luke, where are you going?" "Looks, like I'm going nowhere ..." Cut to: Sulk in the garage = Life changing event. The Boomer Fan Speaks, and YES it's a REAL GIRL! I cannot tell you HOW many times, over how many conventions, myself and our little posse would listen to this nonsense until one of us (largely this typist) did all the math as said, "WHAT THE *BLANK* ACADEMY DO YOU THINK FARMBOY IS TALKING ABOUT?! IT'S THE IMPERIAL ACADEMY! AND LET'S TAKE A LOOK INSIDE! HOW LONG do you think it's going to take out at Corrida or wherever he enters for someone to get on the phone to Coruscant and say, 'You know ... I've got this great kid in our newest class of pilots and he's just dusting them, I think you need to strongly consider extending him entry into the Royal Academy, I have no doubt he is going to be an asset to the Navy and rise very quickly up the commander ladder ... yeah.. no, the kid is amazing ... Tatooine, if you can believe it ... Nope, got his jacket in front of me ... Name is Skywalker.'" Over the years, reactions of dawning realizations have run the gamut of horror and utter delight. And so, I give to you, Owen Lars, BEST Star Wars Dad in history (It certainly came up in "Kenobi", he met his stepbrother once. That's all it took. Owen doesn't have a lot of use for Jedis and I don't blame him (In addition to becoming a successful nerd, I am the product of a working Farm and Ranch, Harvest is INDEED when you bring in extra help, when it is in or shipped and safe THAT'S when you finally relax. And try to make it up to your pouting kid who's lost his friends and there really ISN'T anything to do. (Currently Din Djarin is the best SW Dad in the Galaxy) And Luke may have flown under the upper command radar for another couple of weeks until ... there's TWO right people who would see that name and the die is cast. Which, retroactively having gone from the huffy teenager when I met the gang in the galaxy far, far away, every girl my age fell in love Han Solo, (I jumped ship in 1980 and signed onto a TIE squadron, saw them shoot "Jedi" in 1983 in the California desert, ended working on a couple of things for Lucasfilm, published an article in 'Star Wars Insider' and gained a group of friends at LFL that I wouldn't trade for love or money nor "Fortune and Glory" Boonta Eve medal is a nice touch. A touchstone connecting the triptych together. In your work how would Owen know Anakin had become Vader? Kenobi certainly knows it, but he's excellent at being tightlipped and evasive, and in very nebulous terms explains half-truths to Luke following their encounter in Beggar's Canyon. I DO like where this AR is taking us. It's fun and creative, and I enjoy anything that involves Kallus. (Standard TIE/LN fighters, nor any TIE model does not have Hyperspace capabilities, nor shields until the introduction of the Defender, which made it a complete game changer.) Luke taking an advancement into the Inquisitors is an interesting idea.

I enjoyed this story and I thought it was an interesting choice, not training Luke in the force. In the original trilogy there were glimpses of him tinkering and fixing things, so it is easily believable that he would excel in that area, so well done in using that in this story. My only criticism is not about this story, it is about the announcement of the next story "What if Grievous turned Obi-Wan to the dark side. Grievous was not force sensitive and there was almost nothing left of his organic body. Yes in the prequel trilogy he does state that he has been trained in the Jedi arts, but he does not say trained in the force. Grievous was a warrior trained as a warrior from birth, and his race was a warrior race, so learning the combat styles of the Jedi or Sith means nothing in this instance. Even if you adjust the canon to make him force sensitive you still have to account for the fact that there is so little of his organic body left. I fear that video will be the worst story you have done on this channel, I have generally enjoyed most if not all of the stories on this channel so far, and I will watch it, but be ready for me to post comments and not be supportive of it. It is possible that all of these issues will be addressed and I could enjoy it, but I am very skeptical of that at this time. If you wanted to do a what if where Obi-Wan turned to the dark side I think you would be better off having Dooku turn him while he is being held on Geonosis, that sounds like it could actually be a better and more compelling story that Grievous turning him. I am just saying I see a lot of issues with Grievous turning him to the dark side.

@@derekvandewarker4211 Good point, but Grievous doesn't seem persuasive enough to that, and as for trauma, Obi-Wan didn't turn when Duchess Satine was killed in canon, so Grievous would still be a hard sell, but I am posting after the release of "What is Obi-Wan joined Dooku" on this channel, so I think that was a better choice.

It seems more likely that Vader would sense a special power and simply acknowledge that there was potential there if he ever needed more followers. He, in my mind, wouldn't be having an inner dialogue of Sith and Jedi because he hates both and knows that the force isn't that black and white.
