I thought this was a cool story and followed a very different training path. Qui-gon didn't do things by the book, and neither did Quinlan, and Anakin was no ordinary Jedi. The Jedi council was ready to reject the training of Anakin because of his age, so the training of Anakin needed to be very different. Aayla's involvement in Anakin's training was brilliant, one thing you did not specifically mention is the fact that Aayla being Twi'lek and a race often forced into indentured servitude would help her better understand Anakin since he had been born into indentured servitude, and that fact would have only made their ability to bond like brother and sister even more realistic and compelling, but that was not a fact that needed to be mentioned, it just was inherent in the story.

It’s so weird that if anakin had a brother or sister in canon that was older than him, everything that palpatine did would be useless since him buttering anakin up would mean nothing since the sibling would think that it’s weird the chansllor is doing that when in any other circumstance, palpatine would be trying to manipulate anakin.

I think this AU shows that Filoni was right when he said "Qui-Gon was the father Anakin NEEDED". More accurately, Anakin needed a FAMILY to raise/train him because he was already older than most when he was brought into the order he still had a longing for family.

An interesting story. I really liked the bond between Aayla and Anakin which is something that Anakin never had in canon; a friendship with a Jedi outside of Obi-Wan and Aayla or Barriss (who in Legends was just a year younger than Anakin) would very well fill this role. This would prevent Anakin from being isolated and becoming an easy prey for Palpatine.

I love this! The fact that Anakin felt fulfilled in life is amazing and I think the sibling relationship was both beautiful and genius. I also think having Quinlan be the original master is an interesting choice because of his unorthodox ways, and I think this makes the story even richer. I've got a doosie of a what if. Its something that's been rolling around in my head. We all know that Kenobi was a great negotiator, yes? What if Plaguis noticed Kenobi and wanted him for the grand scheme? This would entail putting or having him as a Padawan put in situations that made him think, make him question at the very least how he'd Better handle negotiations. Fast forward a few years and he's not just questioning things, but has an angry undertone towards the council. He apoears to be in a somewhat sour mood when he and his master end up in Tatooine and meet up with Anakin. He's clearly not thrilled about Qui-Gon's interest in the boy and he openly resents his presence. On the other hand, elsewhere in the Galaxy, we see a hooded figure switching off a communicator after hearing Ben's voice saying "it is almost time" Who else could it be, but Dooku? And he's not on Coruscant in space on his ship. The fight between Maul, Ben, and Qui-Gon results differently. Rather than a fatal wound, Qui-Gon is still wounded, but can be saved. Ben does in fact kill Maul. Cuts through his weapon and an upward slice up through his body. Ben drops his weapon and he falls to his knees, winded. Camera seitched to an unconscious Qui-Gon when we see a robed figure place a communicator/recording device just inside of Qui-Gon's robe. Just enough so that when he's moved, it falls out. Dooku had pieced together a recording that puts the council in a very bad light for Obi-Wan. Leaves a very sour note. In my mind, it's along the lines of them not believing this "mission" could even be dangerous and belittling both Qui-Gon and Ben's position in the order. Sidious played a long game in canon, but I'd like to see Plagueis play the long game as well. Of corrupting the master negotiator and turning him. Maybe end up killing Qui-Gon and abandoning Anakin on Naboo. Maybe in his darkest moment, putting the fear into young Anakin. That could certainly make the council rethink some things and maybe even realize that they are in fact responsible for him. Dooku would still be a pawn, especially with Ben serving the dark side and using his skills. As a negotiator on the dark side, makes me wonder if he'd take on a role in politics? I honestly don't see Sidious willing to give up his position. I could also see Ben working both sides as well, maybe even escalating the timeline of the fall of the Jedi. At the very least, the Jedi order would be more vigilant and hopefully Yoda would be more aware of where things stand...and be a bit in the remorseful side of things. Have a few ideas of where things could go from this, but I think I've said enough. I'm a writer - not a verbal storyteller. Besides, if it's taken up as someones project, I feel its the storyteller's responsibility to tell their own rendition of the story, albeit keeping some or as much of the idea as possible.

Great story. If Aayla did fall in love as grew further into adulthood. The romance between Padme and Anakin happened even though there was a huge age difference. I don't agree that a romance would turn Aayla into a sex object. Aayla is beautiful what man wouldn't be attracted to her even when she is wearing a full Jedi robe. . I respect the approach for the story., but would've liked a little bit more of detail with the downfall of Palpatine . It was too brief and matter of fact .
