Thanks for the comparison, it was very useful. 😊 By the way, it's "aventurine" named by a crystal, not "adventurine" but you may be right, it's adventurous to write with it. 😃

Love the sapphire Dave, that a beautiful ink. For my wife's birthday I gave her the Edelstein Jade ink with a matching Pilot Custom 64 pen, and she loves both. Thank you for the comparisons, I'll have to put them on the list. Paul

Not a fan of blues but when I do go for blues I prefer dark, same with greys-must be dark for me. Robert Oster Great Southern Ocean is a favorite of mine so I really loved the Tanzanite here! I also have Adventurine and Smoky Quartz. I love dark blue-greys as well and the blues I prefer are teals more on the green side but I do love a good turquoise like lamy turquoise which is glorious! Thanks for another great comparison!

Try diamine oxford blue. Dark saturated blue with nice flow. Great for extra fines.

Loved this comparison! Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine was my very first bottle of ink, loved the color and bottle but bought it before I even knew how to fill a pen from it 😂 Now 100s of samples and dozens of bottles later I still reach for it for my Pelikan pens and my TWSBI stubs especially, helps control those really wet writers that can be “uncontrollable firehoses” with average inks.

I really like Moonstone, particularly with a broad or stub nib. That Sapphire replaced Noodler's Bay State Blue, which I got tired of working with. Thanks--this guy really enjoys your opinion.

Thanks Dave like to see comparison between star ruby and ruby also like to know about cleaning issues with inks I use lot of converter pens, but plan on using more of my Pelikans and Homo sapiens, want to stay away from staining or problem inks to clean, I know to stay away from shimmer
@PenultimateDave4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick, I've never had any cleaning issues with these inks using converters or in any Homo Sapiens demonstrators.

🎉Happy New Year to you Dave!🍾 Great review as usual. I just ordered Star Ruby, Garnet & Moonstone. Aventurine, Aquamarine & Sapphire all look lovely as well and perhaps those will be the next three I pick up. Thank you for swatching Jade & Aquamarine next to each other as I thought the same: that they looked very similar. Next to one another, however, the difference is noticeable. Looking forward to your next review! 😊

A comparison video I had been waiting for! Thanks a lot! Only tried the Tanzanite, Bought it at a good price, for the bottle honestly. I like it. In a wet pen it’s almost black. In a dry broad nib the colour blue is visible. With some dilution it’s a nicely shading bluish ink. For that reason the name ”Tanzanite” fits well. I might try the ”Aventurine” next time. For the bottle 😄

No ‘D’ 😉 Some fantastic colours in that Edelstein range. I’ve looked at a few but never buy them. I was going to get the Aventurine for another Green 👍🏻😃

Tip: top quality inks like these do have sheen in them you just need to shake them before use bcz the sheen is sitting down the bottom.

So far, I really enjoy their star Ruby, Olivine, and Smoky Quartz. I have Garnet and it's nice in a very wet nib, but I don't tend to love reds?

This might be random, but could you compare: - Smoky Quarz to the Pelikan 4001 Brilliant-Brown - Tanzanite to the 4001 Blue-Black and maybe Adventurine to the 4001 Brilliant Green? Because they look fairly similar through the video and what I have laying around, just 1/3 the price
@PenultimateDave Жыл бұрын
I don't yet have any 4001 inks but if I can pick them up, I'll try to compare them.
@Daniel-dj7fh Жыл бұрын
@@PenultimateDave Thanks :-) Because the 4001 inks are considerably cheaper than the Edelstein ones, and maybe more of value depending on how the compare

Jade is a whole lot greener with no blue colour.

Moonstone looks nice. I've never bought a Pelikan Edelstein ink, because of their reputation for dryness, and because I've many other inks in my wish list before them anyway. Also, the bottles look nice but not very practical.

Smoky quartz looks like a brown ink.

The first one is not „Adventurine“. Ist!s Aventurine without a d after A. It means a gemstone with the same name. Edelstein is the German word for gemstone.

Aquamarine is one word. It means also a gemstone. It doesn‘t mean AQUA and MARINE. But hey thumbs up again for your comparison video.

I don't see the point of a double swatch; I don't over-write my hand-writing. The Jade sample doesn't look at all Jade to me; more of a teal. I have and use smoky quartz. I bought two bottles, and now am nearly out of one of them. Grey ink: I'm fond of Noodler's Lexington Grey, I have some Private Reserve Tanzanite, but it looks like a dark purple ink to me. My eyes may have some color-resolving deficiency, because it is common for people to describe colors that I don't see.
@spenserblakeney3 жыл бұрын
My only complaint is the mispronunciation of the word Aventurine. Especially as you’re writing it since THERE IS NO D. Apologies, love the reviews
