For all us English speakers: !!!Make sure that your melted chocolate mixture is cooled significantly before adding it to the egg/brown sugar mixture or else you'll end up with scrambled eggs in your dough and a very sad rest of your day!!!

No, you won't. Because at the temperature that eggs cooks, the chocolate would have burned and seized. So if your chocolate was hot enough to cook the eggs, it would have been a solid mass.

You should do 'tempering' - adding a small amount of the hot mixture to bring the eggs up to temp gradually without cooking them. Then you can add the rest, no scrambles!

I weighed it all out and converted 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips 2 table spoons butter 1 egg 1/3 cup + 1 table spoon dark brown sugar 1/3 cup + 1 table spoon flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Also 160 Celsius is 320 Fahrenheit Edit: To add vanilla and fix a few things

I just made these and they are so delicious! 아주 맛있어요! I also have a few suggestions: - Add a pinch of salt with the flour as it brings out more of the flavours - For a fan assisted oven, bake at 145°C - My cookies stuck a bit to the parchment paper so bake for around 12-15 minutes

This is really a foolproof recipe, I'm making it for the 3rd time today and they came out perfect with pretty cracks! Because of lack of ingredients, I used both dark and milk chocolate, I swapped butter for oil, and I used both brown and white sugar. And they still turned out perfect! My suggestions would be to make them small (I scooped too much and they puffed and stuck together :( ) and don't freeze them or refrigerate it for too long! The last time I froze it to speed it up and no cracks appeared... So just put it in the fridge for 20 minutes and it's ok. Also bake them for a little longer-- it stuck to the paper. They cookies are great because no matter how badly and lopsided I scoop them, they bake out wonderfully, if I underbake or overbake them, they taste awesome, if I have to sub lots of ingredients, they're still yummy. I tried baking it in toaster oven and it was still good. Thanks so much for this recipe!!

@@hahnenaje6742 yes, it still cracks. If its flat I think either you didn't refrigerate long enough, the oven is too hot or you didn't mix or weigh the ingredients properly.

I've just made those. Tip: they spread A LOT. So keep your scoops small and some good centimeters between those cookies. Also mine came out a bit deflated bc I opened the oven too early and also stabbed them with a knife, so uh, leave them be.

Tummy perhaps you’re refrigerating them for too long? that could happen sometimes. just refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes and it should be good.

@@Isolation7v7 I didnt get a crack the first tine either!! Besides the 15min fridge time, it's also rly important to cream the sugar and butter well! Make sure the oven is pre-heated and that you have the right quantity of baking powder.

It isn't silicone based on the texture and sound + you can see it has been torn on the left side as if it was on a roll like cling film, there's also a light crumple there. It seems a lot like tissue paper or thin parchment paper. Nonetheless, you can still try out reusable silicone wraps because they seem like a good investment. 👍

Add your egg and brown sugar in a different bowl. Mix until it turns pale. **If you use brown sugar rather than white sugar, cookies will be moist and chewy.** Add the melted chocolate+butter mixture and mix well. I just tried these and had to make them twice. Some small tips for dummies like me: 1-The first time making them, after 12 minutes in the oven, they were still super soft. And I baked them again a little and ended up burning them. They will get harden once they are cold. Don’t burn them like me! 2-I didn’t want big cookies (they wouldn’t fit in my cookie jar lol :) . So I made 20 of them. And somehow they are the same size as it’s shown in the video. (So 2 trays each of them got 5 cookies, 2 time baking) 3-In my first try I put the dough in the fridge for only 25 minutes and it didn’t harden enough. So the second time I put it in the fridge for 60 minutes. My dough was slightly thicker than shown in the video but they really turned out great. Just try to put them like little balls (put more dough on top not sides). 4- Ten minutes is enough (at least with my oven, I know it can change). After that it loses the cookie texture and becomes more of a flat biscuit. They are a bit too sweet for me tho so next time I’ll try to find even darker chocolate with less sugar in it, maybe that will work! But I’m so happy I didn’t give up on the recipe and tried it again because they are super delicious!

Fataniah_ Salleh I use oven without fan. I got the cracks on my top tray not on my bottom one and the top ones became more flat. So I change the tray’s place half way cooking.

I made these today but accidentally bought light brown sugar, so I added a little milk and like half another egg yolk. They didn’t look exactly like the ones here but they did have the cracks and my family were really impressed - and they tasted GREAT and were soft ! Great comfort food, I would recommend:) Edit: this is the next day, and they stayed soft and were finished quickly by my family - Needless to say, simple yet successful cookies

만들어 먹어봤는데 진짜 맛있어요!흑설탕이 없어서 황설탕으로 대신하고 베이킹소다를 안넣는 대신에 베이킹 파우더를 2그램 넣어 만들어 봤어요.구웠다가 처음 꺼냈을때는 빵?같았는데 식으니깐 꽤 바삭해졌고 되게 맛있었어요!저는 모랐는데 식힐때 냉장고에 좀 넣어두면 더 바삭해진다고 하네요:)

Tried these and they turned out so delicious! Exactly like brownies so fudgy and soft! I did have to make a few changes, I used self raising flour and omitted the BP and BS. I didn’t have any dark brown sugar so I used 1/3 light brown sugar and 2/3 dark muscovado sugar. They recipe made 11 for me. I loved these!

these are actually so good! I definetely messed up when I was making them because my choco burnt just a little bit, and I added too mich baking soda bu accident and i forgot to sift the flour and my brown sugar was clumping and it was horrible! but then i was picking out the sugar clumps and mixxing it a ton and then i baked them AND IT TURNED OUT AMAZING! you seriously can’t go wrong with these cookies and i love how little ingredients you need, perfect for quarantine!

황설탕 대신 비정제원당을 사용했어요. 15ml 담기는 스쿱으로 떠서 13개 나왔어요. 반죽이 걸죽해보이지만 윤기나고 잘 떨어져서 기분이 좋더라구요! 12분 정도 구웠고 팬에서 식힘망으로 바로 옮겼더니 식힘망에 쿠키 바닥이 좀 달라붙네요ㅠㅠ 안은 촉촉꾸덕하게 잘 되었는데 겉면은 쭈글쭈글? 하게 크렉이 생겼어요ㅋㅋ 아주 맛있습니다!

I just made these... This video popped up randomly on my feed and I immediately darted for the kitchen - and they turned out amazing!!!! 😍🍪 I never bake - but being in isolation has got me doing all sorts of crazy things! 😂 ***NOTE: I got 12 cookies out of this recipe - but definitely could've made the balls smaller and got more out of it - they turned out huge! ***also leave the batter in the fridge for 30 mins - 45 mins. Mine cracked beautifully. 😉

I'm not much of a baker, but I even melted chocolate chips in a bowl over hot water and used that for my chocolate - and everything baked and cracked to perfection! ☺

I just tried it and turned out really beautiful and delicious! Btw if there is anyone wondering, i shaped them with a table spoon and got 9-10 cookies. I baked them for a longer time, i guess it depends on your oven. And sadly my cookies don’t look that fluffy but they are still delicious! Thank you for the recipe!

This was fantastic, turn out poofy, rich, soft on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. This recipe is foolproof, if you don't have brown sugar, I mixed maple syrup and white sugar together, turns out amazing!

finally made mine after watching this like ten times!! They didn’t come out with cracks sadly 😔 but they WERE delicious! A little too sweet for some of us but still super tasty! Did them in two trays, left one for ten minutes and the other a couple more after taking the first tray out. I think in the future I will just leave it for 12-13 min, but it probably depends on your oven. My grandma already wants to make more!! ☺️😊

I used 30 g of powder sugar and 25 g of honey instead of brown sugar, also I added just 3 g of baking soda (I didn't use baking powder) with a tsp of vinegar and a pinch of salt. The cookies were so good!!! Thank you so much for the recipe.

Omg I just want to say how CHOCOLATELY AND FUDGY THESE taste after you put them in the fridge and eat once it's out for a while. I have made this FOUR times and found that 85% cocoa works best, i use lindt as most of the baking chocolate is out of stock due to the current situation. Back to the taste - the cookies are a chocolate lover's dream - moist, decadent, fudgy. It tastes like a fudge/brownie and I'm OBSESSED. And I think this recipe calls for little ingredients than usual and that was what made me try it in the first place, so thank you hyossome.

My cookies look nothing like what it is in the video but the texture of it is my favourite of all the chocolate cookies I've tried! They are light, a thin crunchy layer on the outside, soft and chewey on the inside. I read comments that say they are more cakey than a cookie, so what i did was i baked for 10min at 160c, and then another 5 min at 180c. Also I refrigerated the dough for an hour, hard enough to form a ball, then press down. But the downside of this method is that while you get nice shapes, the cracks don't appear. I will continue experimenting!

@@jellyfinut2203 was your dough liquid? 1. I used a small egg 2. I also used 5 grams of white sugar (50 gr brown sugar and 5 gr white sugar) 3. Wait until your chocolate buttermix is cold (Room temperature) 4. my dough was firmer than in the video anyway i packed it in the fridge for 35 min 5. then I stirred the mass just a little bit then I shaped it round (because my dough was firmer, I pressed it lightly)

Just made a gluten free version using half oat flour (Make sure the oats are blended very finely) and half gluten free store bought flour. They turned out great and look just like the original!

i made a batch last week, it looked like poop but tasted awesome! mine had a rough texture... i think it's because i didnt have the same type of ingredients.... it may not be as pretty as the video's, still, it's yummy, my family enjoyed it with a glass of milk!

I used light brown sugar instead of dark. I also used 49% dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips. These tasted amazing. It was crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. But they do not look like the video. They do not have the pretty cracks but I would still make them again :) Edit: I made them 2 more times and they had the pretty cracks. I think the first time i didn’t mix the egg and brown sugar enough. 10/10 would recommend

For all of us heathen Americans I wrote down the recipe with measurements we're more familiar with. I actually made this recipe with these measurements and they turned out pretty good (yields 5 cookies). 110 g/3.9oz dark chocolate 1 cup (depends on how finely chopped) 30g unsalted butter 2.5 tbsp 1 egg 55 g brown sugar 1/3 cup 45 g all purpose flour 1/3 cup 1 g baking soda 1/4 tsp 1 g baking powder 1/4 tsp 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract 1. Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and baking powder) and whisk together, set aside 2. Melt dark chocolate and butter together until smooth over hot water 3. Cream together egg and brown sugar until smooth. 4. Mix cooled chocolate mixture in with egg and sugar 5. Sift in dry ingredients 6. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and whisk to combine 7. Cover and let sit for ~30 minutes 8. Pre-heat oven to 320 F 9. Spoon out 1 tablespoon blobs onto a parchment lined baking sheet 10. Bake at 320 F for 10 minutes 11. enjoy some dope cookies

I made this and it tasted amazing! The dough spread a lot even after I made 15 small balls out of this recipe (my oven is rather small anyway haha). But recipe is lit. It's just that I didn't get that beautiful cracks, I'm not sure if that's because I shaped the dough like a ball because in the beginning it stuck a lot so I kept it in the fridge for an hour and dough became quite hard that I could shape it like a ball. Anyway, it tasted good! Thanks for the recipe!

Learn from my mistake, guys! You gotta put it in the fridge for at least 60 minutes or you'll end up with very thin cookies and it spread out into one huge disk cookies 😀😀😀 but netherless it tastes sooo good

Hello, i'm trying this recipe for the 4th time and can't make them not even close to the video. I use the same ingredients and proportions, but they came really flat. Do you suggest anything?

@@OldairVargas maybe it's the amount of dough you are putting into the oven. Usual measure is every cookie like an ice cream scoop. Also may be the temperature of your oven that it is too high. For my oven works with 15 mins at 180 °C and then let them cool for about 20 mins. They may look like not cooked but they are, they just need that extra time outside the oven. I hope it helps :(

@@CM-er1hp Thanks for the aswer, but I tried those things and didn't work too. When I bake at 180ºC they turn into a coal in about 8 minutes. So Right now im' using at 140ºC for 13-15 min. The problem is that, while in the oven, they turn flat in the middle of the process, and just stay that way... I usually use an ice cream scoop to do they, and sometimes just make bigger or smaller, but the result is always the same, i must have done more than 50 right now haha and all of them were really ugly... but at least a bit tasty. The ones in the video are really beautiful... maybe one day I will do that #dreams

@@OldairVargas D: then it seems to be the oven. Maybe it's too powerful. If you have preheated it well so it is not too hot or too cool then they should be fine for the amount of time required for your oven. Maybe it is too hot before putting the cookies inside? I don't know :( I hope one day you could make them too they are really tasty and fluffy :(

If you love fudge, you'll love these. I even used almond flour and they turned out very well. They look just like the cookies in this vid. They are far too sugary for me though so I'll be adding at least an extra half cup (64g) of flour next time to make them more cookie-like.

UPDATE : A much easier, faster, and cheaper way to get a very very similar cookie to this is get Betty Crocker's Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie mix in a bag. It's like $2, and use BUTTER instead of oil as it says on the package. They're very chewy and just like these if you make sure not to over-bake them!!! I made these twice and they're good even if you dont do it perfect! First time I used Dove chocolate pieces (about 10ish) and the cookies came out flatter and chewy. This time I messed up and used too much chocolate so the batter came out *super* thick... I added about 1 egg more and a bit of butter but it was still thick. I still baked them and they actually came out good but just more fluffy! Here's the measurements I used (roughly!): 4 oz of dark chocolate (roughly one Lindt bar, but lean on less not more) 2 tablespoons of butter 1 egg 1/3 cup of brown sugar (plus a spoonful extra) 1/3cup flour 1/4 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp baking powder *Be careful on how much chocolate you melt for it because the consistency can change the outcome. The brown sugar is what will make it chewy, converting from grams isn't perfect so that extra spoonful is necessary because the original recipe calls for more sugar than flour. Follow the video instructions and it should come out yummy.

@stan talent stan mamamoo I think they made about 10 or 12 when I did it depending how big you make them. It should still come out but if you're worried itll mess up the batter you may want to look up a different brownie cookie recipe with exact measurements! Hope it comes out.

hey guys! I just tried this recipe for the first time and they came out looking like a brownie (idk how to explain it but the cracks resemble brownies from a box) and the cracks didn't come out like the video. but I was still pleased with them!! :)) here's where I think I "messed up" (bc they're still beautiful and yummy) 1. I used dollar tree dark chocolate & some semi sweet chocolate chips 2. I hand whisked the egg & brown sugar mixture (for almost half an hour to get a similar texture like the one in the video, I recommend using a machine whisk) 3. I didn't refrigerate the dough for the full 30 mins cause before I put it in the refrigerator my dough wasn't liquidy like in the video 4. I baked it around 12-14 mins instead of 10! overall, I would try this recipe again! the cracks weren't similar, but they were still pretty :)

Help!! I tried to make this cookie twice but i failed miserably. 1st attempt the cookies turned flat af n no crack but it tasted good. 2nd attempt i tried to measure everything perfectly and baked at the same time on the recipe. But still no crack but there was a puff but still flat. Pls someone can tell me what i did wrong? The quarantine life is making me crazy so i tried some of the recipes that I've been wanting to try since long time ago and one of them is this brownie cookie.

I haven't made it yet but I'll try to help. Make sure the melted chocolate and butter is completely cooled down. Try having your egg (all of your ingredients in general but eggs tend to be refrigerated) at room temperature before mixing it in. It helps incorporate the ingredients better. Make sure the brown sugar is packed when you measure. Don't skip chilling it in the fridge. Make sure your oven is actually preheated before putting your cookies in. Try keeping it in the oven for 2-4 minutes longer (don't open the oven door, it will need to bake much longer if you do bc the escaped heat will need to build back up). Let your cookies cool down before trying them bc they may still seem underbaked when in reality, it's actually still soft from the heat. When it cools, it'll harden a bit (learned from too many failed attempts of overbaking). Those are the only things I can think of that may have gone wrong. I hope that helps. Baking sure does pass the time of being under quarantine

A few more things. I don't know if you're using grams or cups. If you're using cups based on the versions in some of the comments, flour will need to be 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon. Make sure you sift your dry ingredients. Check whether your oven is using Celsius or Fahrenheit. If your oven is in F, then your cookies will be underbaked.

@@as_march you're welcome! I just baked them today and somehow made 12 instead of 5 but don't worry about how big the cookies are. They turned out a bit underbaked for me that I had to put it back in for a few more minutes. I used the cup and Fahrenheit conversion so that may have played into it. Other than that, the cookies crinkled and ended up gooey and delicious.

Three possible things, did you cool your chocolate/butter mix before adding to the eggs, did you chill your batter before baking and did you add the right amount of baking powder and soda?

Farah Haddad maybe when you waited for it to melt it’s temp came too low? The only other things I can think for for spreading is the type of butter and the type/amount of sugar. Other than that I’m stumped 🤷♀️. The chocolate type shouldn’t really affect it
