When Beyoncé’s line was first announced all you saw online was BW saying “I’m not buying Haircare from her”. Cool that’s their choice. But they couldn’t just move on, they wanted everyone to be put off from her line and swore the ingredients would be bad. Now that Cecred is out, has amazing packaging, ingredients and great reviews they are crying “what about 4C” “Why isn’t it BW hair only”. Beyoncé would have been foolish to not include other races. I’m glad she finally woke up and stopped trying to limit her global appeal by just catering to BW.

So even if she did a wash day routine for Cecred, they would still be mad about the texture of her hair. Also Cecred is an inclusive brand for ALL hair types (thank god) , so why do they keep acting like it should only be focused on 4C hair?

The fascination with hair in the black community seems to be nothing but problematic. I personally don’t care what beyonces hairstyle looks like or the politics of her hair because, why? But I think it’s great that she has a hair care line of products and I want to support that. It shouldn’t really go further than that. You made a really good point that some black people love to act like "We're all the same" (which stems from the one drop rule) yet complain about mixed & lightskin people only being successful due to things like colorism and pretty privilege. With as many people as I've heard say "Kelly is more talented than Beyoncé" her career should be at the same level if not higher than Beyoncé's but its not because they know it isn't the truth. Even Kelly admitted that. It's very strange how people who look nothing like Beyoncé want her to be their representation and then get angry when more people with her phenotype are being represented instead.

I also don't have time for lace fronts. I actually despise same. I'll wear very cutesy wigs and sometimes weaves. I have strict requirements though when it comes to wigs and weaves. I want nothing that's too bulky. Bulky to me is downright ugly. Same with excessive length. It's just not for me. I sometimes wonder what the heck is wrong with women's eyes - some of us tend to overdo things and end up looking fugly. Come on man, make whatever you add to your person (be it hair, toe/fingernails, veneers, lashes etc) look as natural as possible. Shouldn't that be the point? But to each their own, I guess.

Beyoncé showed her natural hair, years ago. Her mum is also her hairdresser, and really looks after it for her. I am jus5 confused by the black community/ diaspora: when Beyoncé wore natural, curly/ coiled extensions, she said got so much flak . It is a sad reflection of the community's self hate and self policing. A lot of black people ( light skinned to medium to dark skinned ) have a diversity of hair textures and phenotypes. There isnt just one look. People mustn't forget that Africa has a huge diversity of skin tones, nose shapes,hair textures. West Africa has such a diversity of looks, for wxample, it puzzles me, why other black people in the West ( The Americas and Europe ) police who is black and who is not, but judge " phrnotypically black " but pedestalise anything that is not " black"! If you want so called 3c hair. But have 4b hair, there is nothing wrong with using wigs and extentions and getting on with your life, as opposed to critiquing those who have what you want. Although, i have never followed Beyoncé 's music or style, it is up to her,to do whatever she wants. She is clearly extremely talented and beautiful. Kudos to her ! I wish they would let her be. Good question. I don’t know or care what she does too her hair. She always looks so beautiful and it took for me to look up to Beyoncé to really get comfortable with those features shared from my multicultural background. Growing up around UABW I had to go through up front and in my face being excluded for not being black enough and it’s time the full ride is taken and Beyonce is the one doing it. Now the world can see the bigotry of my experience and stop shushing me when I speak of it like it doesn’t happen in the black community. Now the world can see and can’t deny what treatment and conversations have been hidden. They out now and I love that someone so big is making the true colors show. So people can stop pretending it’s non-existent. I’m here for it and the only reason I’m not getting a texturizer is because I might go back blonde too. I’m back to mid back and I’m shooting for waist length but who knows. This Cecred line might be the answer to that. Seems to be “just for me”… pun intended. If Beyonce comes out with a relaxer I might get that too. I’ll wait for that. This topic has me lit 🔥
@LM-xh2sd9 ай бұрын
I never negate a person’s experiences in life, because they know those experiences better than anyone else. I will, however, state, that I am surprised, no, maybe, I’m more amazed at the experiences shared on this channel or the conclusions that UABW think XYZ, ABC or want to be like MLSW. My family is heavily mixed, with both my immediate and extended family being huge! We run the gamut from those who can pass as white, those who favor Arabs, Asians, Native Americans, to those who are darker skinned and unambiguous. The focus has never been on skin color, eye color, or hair texture. It was literally just, “this is our diverse, beautiful family.” Plus so many families in America are mixed to some extent. I am not sure if certain areas of the country find greater prevalence of hatred, stereotyping, etc. The internet is a different beast, I understand that. Perhaps a better way to express this is that no one in my family was treated special because we’re mixed. The cousin with the hazel eyes and glorious mop of sun-kissed curls was acknowledged as beautiful just as the cousin with phenotypical AA traits / features and 4B hair. They were each beautiful in their own right. My mother is often mistaken for a white woman-she has waist-length hair and green eyes. Yes, my siblings and I have been asked what we are “mixed” with but we have always just answered we’re black because we know that is the way the world at large sees us and there wasn’t a time that we felt a strong need to further define our genetic makeup, at least not into early adulthood. Being teenagers, I definitely had a season where I felt like I needed my white school friends to know that I had a lot of mixed ancestry. Anyway, I started watching this channel for the decentering men series, which is phenomenal, and only recently started viewing some of the other content. I’m not ignorant to how people hate or are jealous of others….i truly didn’t know this many mixed women had such horrible experiences with other black women. I think I take a different approach when it comes to celebrities-people in general are tired of being lied to, gaslit, etc. For example, when black women began embracing their natural hair, and learning tips and hair care routines and about product lines from YT / social media influencers, it would come to light that a lot of those influencers were getting Tex-lax or other treatments but claiming they had a particular “hair type” and how to take care of said hair type. It was blatant misrepresentation and people don’t forget about those moments and they do question what we are being fed. I understand that celebrities are a business - if they can sell clothing, makeup, hair care, perfumes, etc., then they are going to do so. Many of us grew up when Destinys Child was just starting out. We’ve read the articles on Hollywood / Entertainment Machine “white-washing” “black” actresses and entertainers, with Beyoncé often used as a classic example. The entertainment industry utilizes a lot of smoke and mirrors to sell products and sell the world on their celebrity commodities, so I’m not surprised when people have some level of skepticism when a celebrity is the face of a product launch. Considering that there is a ton of psychological aspects that go into self-perception, idealization of beauty, self-hatred, proximity to “whiteness,” etc., we also know that hurt people hurt other people. I’ve read a lot of the comments pertaining to Cecred and I wonder how much of what people are saying has anything to do with “hating” on Beyoncé or needing her to be XYZ for them or being “mad” that her hair type is 4a vs 4c. When I was younger and attending, pretty much, an all white school, I coveted white girls’ straight hair because my mother would not allow us to straighten our hair until we were older. I didn’t continue to covet their hair as I matured. In the same way that women have stopped coveting the social status of “having a man” i consider how there is so much black empowerment (overall) and a movement away from trying to be like white people or considering it special for proximity to whiteness -part of this may be because in America, it’s no longer seen as something rare or super special like it once used to be. Perhaps I am biased because I haven’t faced the level of discrimination or disdain that others have. In other aspects, when you see from an early age how the world works (favoritism, beauty standards, idealism, etc), I accepted that for what it was - of course men are going to gape at the woman who looks like XYZ, not only is she actually attractive but we’ve all been trained to think of this type of standard as being more beautiful than another. I’m light caramel in complexion, however, I’m not lamenting that I’m not the same shade as my mother or other women who are lighter. Self-empowerment moves a lot of people away from former shallow thinking and wasting time wishing they were something that they are not. I’ve rambled enough. 😂

Shemiriah Rice Exoticals United I've been binge watching your videos for a about month now especially the decentering men videos and I gotta say I totally agree with you. I saw Beyonce's natural hair as a child and as a teenager in her pictures and she never had 4C hair. Beyonce has natural curly hair but it's the loser hair texture in the 3C category. Another thing in the United States they keep claiming that Beyonce is fully black when that's clearly not true she is mixed race. Her mother is of black, French,Creole, Acadian, Irish, Breton and Penobscot first nations. Beyonce's father of course is just black. The black community needs to stop with this bullshit claiming biracials and multiracial people to be black it's really annoying over some stupid Jim Crow law made in 1910. But the thing is Beyonce has one mixed race parent and one fully black parent me Shemiriah Rice on the other hand I have both parents mixed race my mother is of black and French decent and my father who passed away was of black, English and Asean/Asian decent. By the way I'm kinda dark skin but still mixed race and people think I'm Haitian when I'm not I don't know where that came from. My father who was mixed race was also dark skin people thought he was fully black until he showed them his father then they realized he was mixed race he grew up with a lot of racism and discrimination/segregation. My father was born in (1938) so growing up half black half Asean Asian and part English decent was difficult

Ugh it’s so disgraceful how much division there is with this. Beyoncé can’t help what she looks like and what texture her hair is. It’s amazing how much people assume things about her because of her complexion or hair type. I met her once and I was surprised how she thought I was too proper (I’m darker skinned but grew up around only white people) and she was kinda black hood acting (surprising since she didn’t grow up poor by any means her parents were millionaires by the time she was 5)but her family is nice and have all the complexion mixes under the sun. My mother and husband are racially ambiguous looking and my daughter is light skinned with really long high porosity 4a hair and I’m ALWAYS annoyed by the comments people have when it comes to complexion and hair type. I worry about my daughter’s own cousins or black folks cutting my daughter’s hair or marking her face out of pure jealousy. I’ve seen it so many times and it’s disgusting we have these issues in the black community smh She’s 5 and I don’t even know how to prepare her for this nonsense other than making her feel beautiful and confident and staying away from certain people and neighborhoods.

I watched a lot of those videos and they were just saying they don’t see her natural hair and has nothing to do with her texture. I think you are reaching with this one. Beyonce also wants their money so either she gives them what they want or the business flops like the other ones. People just want to relate to her like Riri is hands on (uses her products online).

Same, I can see flaw in both sides honestly. Some mixed ppl have a few bad experiences and think everyone is envious. I’ve had haters that were dark, light, and mixed. I don’t lump everyone in the same arena though. I’m dark sided and I definitely get that some darker skin ppl can have self hate and envy issues. However, some lighter ppl can think they’re better than others. I’ve heard and witnessed things. I think ppl don’t think the product is something she is passionate about. She’s had clothing brands that she didn’t really put much effort into. I believe it’s a money grab and I’m a Beyoncé fan that’s dark skin with looser curls. I’m not bragging either. I’m saying that certain features or hair types can be associated with mixed ppl but that doesn’t mean that others can’t have those characteristics or traits. I know a dark skin guy with green eyes. I’ve had a light skin homegirl that would hype up every mixed man but envied mixed women. However, I’m way darker and never felt inferior/ envious. My mom is light skinned and we had discussions about her experiences and my own. I can see both sides on the coin. However, some mixed or lighter skin ppl don’t like to acknowledge certain things. I’m glad that with the show basketball wives ppl saw the racially ambiguous women for who they really were on that show. They bullied darker skin women and tried to bully a mixed lady but ppl were more quick to defend the mixed lady that was bully when several other darker skin women were bullied and called black in a disgusted/ aggressive manner. They gaslighted the darker women that would fight back. Everyone, started to protest about how this was wrong and the show was about to get canceled.

@@chacha2321 I see also both sides. Beyoncé thinks that her name alone should sell her products and people won’t but bcoz they also know her with music. Hair products is not her niche so she would have to go extra mile if she wants acceptance but she wants to be private about her hair and I understand however she can’t eat her cake and still have it too. I’m glad this channel is enlightening people about expectations from light skin people but I think she’s going to the extreme.

@@arewahaircaretv8718you are asserting your on projections on to Beyoncé lol. What makes you think she doesn’t care about the products she puts out? Lol Beyoncé is known for being a perfectionist so your saying she is a perfectionist in music but not in any other aspect of her career and business? It doesn’t work that way. It’s not a cash grab for Beyoncé. She has stated she invested her own money into this project. So if someone invest their money and 6 years into a project how much of a slap in the face for you to say she doesn’t care or put effort into her name and brand? Just stupidity
@jjw19208 ай бұрын
Why does Beyoncé have to be like rihanna? You can name all of Beyoncé family and kids and her issues with her dad. Her ex high school bf. Her friends etc. can you name half of that for rihanna? Probably not. Beyoncé has been in the spotlight for almost 3 decades. If it’s an issue for Beyoncé to keep her personal life personal then that’s an issue for y’all not her. Jessica Simpson has a billion dollar business and so does Jessica alba. Those two women are private as well as they got older. Y’all just want access to Beyoncé because y’all are nosey. It has nothing to do with her personally

but there was none of this outrage when Riahanna started her business? people have their point that rihanna promoted her business more believabe, would do vogue get ready with me and stuff like that, her business blossoms and people respect that, now with beyonce people don't respect dishonesty of sell outs her previous companies flopped bc she promotes stuff she clearly doesnt use like most influencers and people just tired of that bs
