At the time, I lived between several sirens, so the distant warbling wail was cycling chaotically, from all directions. It's quite effective at scaring one shitless. When I got my own place, one of my requirements was that it have a basement. I'm in eastern MO, I spent about 8 hours down in my basement during the tornado spam last week. Fortunately, I only lost a few trees and a window this time.

Canada should be 10/10. And here’s why: One time back in 2014 my homie and I were hanging out while my parents were at a concert. They bought us a whole bunch of snacks and left us to play video games all night. We went to bed very late but we’re woken up just before 2 o’clock in the morning. My parents were on the way home, because the venue where the concert was being held was pretty far away. We were woken by the Canada sound and it was on my phone about an active shooter.
