Your statement would be like telling an adoptive-parent 'you can call yourself adoptive but parent doesn't come into it - a parent is a biological ascendant of a child, of which you will never be'. While woman CAN simply mean adult human female, it's a bit more complex than that - more leaning into feminine sexual maturity and the role in relationships/social dynamics. For example if someone asked the gender of my cat, I would say she's a girl, not a 'woman cat' or a 'man dog' when referring to a male dog - because it invokes themes of adult human sexual relationships and roles within them/society (it feels a bit silly and inappropriate). But equally if we reverse your logic, saying my cat is a girl cat - doesn't make her a prepubescent human female (when she's an adult female cat - and clearly not a human female child). In that respect I would ask you to think about the terms 'manly' and 'womanly' -- if a man is simply an adult human male, than how can one man be more 'manly' than another man? You can't be 'more' adult human male - it's illogical. There's clearly cultural significance to the word, it's something you 'achieve' and work towards. If we was in Spain for example, and I told you that there's a British man waiting at the bar to give you £100, it's intentionally misleading when it turns out the man is British-Pakistani - you likely wouldn't have been looking for him, you would be looking for a white man. It's the same with trans-woman. To just say 'woman' is inaccurate, 'trans-woman' is the correct and scientific/social terminology - regardless if you agree with it personally.
