I think it's the most realistic portrayal of the mindset of abusers I've ever seen. The fact that the character is voiced in such a genuine way only serves to make them that much more horrifying; they aren't doing what they do out of pure malice, they're doing it out of a genuine hunger and selfishness. It's like thinking about how the brutality of wolves when they rip people apart isn't motivated by hatred, but by exploitation in pursuit of survival. Its existentially and nihilistically horrifying.
