'People like Shamima Begum shouldn't be here', says immigration lawyer

Shamima Begum has failed in her legal bid to challenge the decision to deprive her of her British citizenship.
Ms Begum was 15 years old when she travelled from Bethnal Green, east London, through Turkey and into territory controlled by the so-called Islamic State (IS).
Immigration lawyer Harjap Singh Bhangal says anyone working against the interests of the U.K., like Shamima Begum, "shouldn't be here."
Her British citizenship was revoked shortly after she was found, nine months pregnant, in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019.
Ms Begum, now 23, brought a challenge against the Home Office over this decision at the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), a specialist tribunal which hears challenges to decisions to remove someone’s British citizenship on national security grounds.
Following a five-day hearing in November, the tribunal dismissed her challenge on Wednesday.

I don’t understand why she should be in a cushty British prison (in comparison with prisons in other countries) when other Brits who have committed or been wrongly accused of a crime have been forced to stay in the countries the crimes were committed in. Prisons in certain countries are horrific, no beds, rats, one toilet for numerous inmates, dirty, violent etc. They would have a language barrier, no option of legal aid, totally different cultures & laws. In certain countries you could face the death penalty for crimes far less serious than terrorism. How come other British citizens don’t get the option of coming back here?!

You hold the trial in the location in which the crimes were committed. No one else would be privileged enough to be tried in a separate country for crimes committed elsewhere. Therefore the trial should be in Syria and the verdict and sentence should be carried out there.

In the UK, we have freedom of religion,Shamima went to live a lifestyle that was freely open for her to practice,i.e., giving to communities in the UK .Dawa and other Islamic practices are freely accepted . For those who don’t know about the circumstance in Bangladesh, it’s important to highlight that the government there are fighting tooth and nail against Jihadi fundamentalists and unlike soft U.K. Bangladesh rightfully so punishes these scumbags with the noose.
