As a German I can confirm it is all true. In Germany it is not as bad as in France yet, but we are on the same way. Since the refugee crises in 2015, there came about 1 million Syrians to Germany and they are still coming. After they are being accepted as refugees, they bring the whole family. There have been many violent attacks commited by syrians since. Many people in Germany have been sympathetic with the refugees at first because of the war in Syria, but now the have to realize, that muslim immigrants mostly refuse to respect western values and laws. Many are here just for the social benefits. Of course this is not tru for all immigrants, but unfurtunatly for many of them. The government does not take measures against this problem and as a result right wing parties gain ground. It is quite a scary situation. No one knows where this will end.

I'm an immigrant myself (Romanian in the Netherlands), and I think that going to another country implies a responsibility of trying to adapt to the culture of the place, (and trying to make it a better place even), instead of keeping the same mentality as you had home. That's why I think the best solution for immigration would be a good old sorting of people who come into the country. Are you there professionally (for work, for studies)? Ok. Are you there without any real reason? Rejected. It sounds harsh and even medieval, but it would be the best solution.

This issue is big in all of Europe. I live in Sweden and we have had a huge increase in shootings surrounding gang crimes. It all started in 2019 when we let in a big wave of immigrants. Even though it has been a couple of years since, I still can't get used to them being everywhere I go. I don't think every immigrant is bad, but a lot of the ones I've seen in school are just loud, disrespectful and ungreatful. I honestly think that our cultures are just way too different. People from all backgrounds just can't live in a harmony like the goverment is trying to tell us. We have different countries for a reason, because people are different and everyone can't get along. It's that simple. I hope the French will see a brighter day soon.

As a French, I find your analysis rather complete and accurate. Yes, there is a problem with uncontrolled immigration, with people who end up violent once they arrive on the French soil. Also, France fails to extradite its illegal immigrants. It is not the only issue, though, because many troublemakers are French from foreign origin, mainly North Africa. They don't feel like French and despise the country that has poured money in social welfare and in infrastructures for years in the suburbs where they live. It's not just all the previous governments that have failed to integrate these people: they don't want to integrate themselves and they hate the very hand that had been feeding them. It is worth noting that the countries from which they originate don't have the same troubles with their youngsters: it's because they are tough and don't hesitate to severely punish crimes to have a more peaceful society. Don't be fooled by the events of the teen who has tragically lost his life : he was well known by the Police. He was not an angel and it's easy now to paint him as a victim (he could have killed people trying to escape the Police). There are more and more thugs on the streets that are driving stolen vehicles (many without licence), try to flee the Police recklessly, are involved in drug trafficking and other crimes. These (often young) people don't respect any form of authority and are extremely violent. The Police are scared, the citizens are scared and the government is a total coward (like their predecessors). It's appalling. Inevitably, all this will lead to more resentment toward these communities from foreign origins, and sadly even towards the good people among them. This will also only lead to more extremism, more misunderstandings and more violence. The government thinks they can buy peace by finding excuses to these criminals who once in a while get shot, but they alienate themselves all the rest of the population. Very possibly, we will have a strong right wing government next time. Or we will make a Revolution. Once in a while, we snap. I am very sad seeing my beautiful country being burnt by brainless, violent thugs and my government being so weak and unfit to prevent or even handle the situation. I can well understand this. I lived in the Arab quarter ( Algerian) in Marseille for a while. Very open minded l certainly was not and even now do not consider myself racist. ( l am an artist and rented a loft as a studio practically in the heart of the quarter around « le port d’Aix » near the Mosque.) I suffered from countless thefts ( including my bicycle) and vandalism and had to park my car far away. My friend caught men several times in the process of stealing parts of my car. You may think this is exceptional and that l am over - reacting. But eventually l left Marseille mainly because of this.

I have this guy I know from Algeria. He was tired of working hard in his country and making very little money, so he sold his car and took what money he had a flew over to France to work with a distant cousin. First day over the cousin was a no show. Not knowing anyone, a few days later his money was quickly vanishing. So he called his friend in Romania he had known for two years and she told him come stay with her , work and make some money and decide what to do. Here's the rub as we say here in the U.S. He said he had no problem with the French, it was the other North Africans and middle eastern people! He said especially his fellow Algerians. The ones who migrated was just as worse as the ones who were born over there!!! That says a lot!

In their own countries they don't do such things. 17 year old in a someone else car without licence, in a country of origin would not even think of doing it. Funny how they have no problems with robing and looting but in some of their countries of origin they know very well their hand would be cut off.
