Have an answer to the Florida Man thing. So Florida has a thing called the Sunshine Law. The Florida Sunshine Law is a series of laws designed to guarantee that the public has access to the public records of governmental bodies in Florida. That's why we hear so much crazy criminal behavior and stuff coming from Florida, aka, Florida Man. Majority of other states don't have this, or at least not to the same degree.

As someone who has lived in several states as well as Florida, I can totally confirm that this is the real reason why Missouri Man isn't a thing. Also, I believe Wisconsin has a similar law to the sunshine law but Wisconsin Man doesn't have the same ring as Florida Man.

I'll say, I like how they are taking the "is this place haunted" part of Acheivement Haunter. That was one thing I liked about TAPS with Ghost Hunters back in the day, when it came to deciding if a place was haunted, they would say "Yes it is" only if they found enough evidence to say so, otherwise they say "it seems something paranormal is going on" or "we can't say one way or another because we didn't find enough evidence". But yeah way to many say a place is haunted just because they feel one thing tough them that may be a spider web

Native Floridian here (currently living in ass backward georgia) the reason why you hear so many wild Florida stories is 1. The population is huge compared to states like Vermont which has only like two dozen people there at a time and 2. (The biggest reason) is that there is an open records law called the Sunshine Law which makes everything public. It was done to keep the politicians honest but they do shady stuff to keep their dealings off the record and hidden from the public while police reports with wild stories become nationwide stories. I believe due to the Sunshine Law, FL has the most relaxed open records law in the entire county. As someone who has now lived in ga for over a decade I can confirm more wild shit happens here (maybe not with Alligators lol) but it never makes national headlines since Florida Man has become a solid meme and a surefire way to get clicks to websites/video views to get that precious ad revenue.

Mallet town, Arkansas, a abandoned mining town (it was when we had went around 2011 ) I will NEVER drive through there again looking for ghosts. Back then and maybe now, there was a app called “Ghost Radar” that supposedly picked up and spoke random words and showed colored dots on the radar screen, and letters in the bottom corner, we were bored and wanted to go out have some fun with it not thinking anything would happen, we were trying to figure out if the behavior of it changed depending on certain areas we would travel to, like somewhere that had history. We had parked on a bridge, the two of us were keeping a lookout for highly unlikely cars to come through while the driver was trying to navigate, while we were listening to the random words and letters that popped up ( there was no shoulder on the road to pull off to, nor had we seen any driveways, being that we were in a car, we were not going to pull off onto a wet hill that went into the ditch just to get stuck, we didn’t have cell reception to call for help either). There was a man who appeared on the road in front of us, standing and swaying like he was drunk, started walking slowly, then, full out running towards our car with their hands reaching out while we were parked on the bridge. We made sure the doors were locked when he was standing there because we thought we were going to be attacked; by that time he started running, we were screaming and flailing at the driver and the car to “go!” we kept staring at this person, everyone in shock and panicking while she was trying to restart the car and put it in reverse; the guy disappeared as soon as he touched the car while we were beginning to move backwards. The three of us will swear this. We cried and tried to drive our way out as careful as possible and saw two other “people” walking through the side of the woods farther up the road. I think that it would’ve been too much work for people to just randomly walk around dressed in ragged clothes at 2- 3 in the morning to scare people. There is no traffic there, we never saw anyone on the road. There was only a handful of people that refused to leave because they lived there most of their lives. I wanted to share this for “off the beaten path comment” also, there’s a lot of “sites” here in San Antonio because of the history that’s happened here. Take caution and Happy haunting, you are all awesome.
