My then girlfriend, now wife, was a late addition to our family gathering. My aunt who was hosting Christmas panicked. Looking into the pantry she found something she didn’t need for the Christmas table and hastily wrapped it. Gf was very perplexed when he unwrapped a packet of tempura batter mix! The story is retold every Christmas 😂🤣😂🤣

My dad once gifted our neighbor an electrics hammer. We knew he had plugged it in when all their lights went out. It was just a hole drilled in the hammer handle with a cord jammed into it. Dad never thought that he might actually plug it in to see how it worked. My eldest sister (visiting from out of state so not familiar with her voice) called their house as a rep from the power company telling him that power outages in the area had been traced to his home and messing with the power grid was no small offense and so on. Dad raised in the wilds of Montana, Frank in the wilds of Idaho. Just two kids having fun with each other!

Best gift that made me laugh was Christmas 1988. As a joke, I put a Corvette on my wish list. After gifts were all unwrapped, I was told there one more big surprise for me, but it was outside in the driveway. Eyes wide, wondering if that dream had somehow come true, I rushed out the door. Yes! Right there, parked in the driveway was a shiny Corvette! Matchbox car! I had tears in my eyes from laughing! Best. Joke. Gift. EVER!

My ex-husband, on our first Christmas with my family, gave my father a wrapped 50 lb bag of cow manure. My Dad laughed his butt off before asking it that was what my ex thought of him. Dad had a big garden and my ex was a landscape designer. BTW it's very hard in New England to find bagged cow manure around Christmas but the garden center guys came through. When they found out WHY he needed 50 lb of it, they howled with laughter. I'm sure the rest of the bags were bought by them as gag gifts...LOL. Please feel free to use this gift idea.

In Scotland we have this traditional candy called tablet. It's a bit like fudge but rather than being smooth and soft, it's really crumbly and breaks into chunks quite easily. Anyway my dad bought my stepmum a tablet for Christmas and roped me in to find a bar of tablet. He took the gadget out of its packaging and put the candy in instead. Still gave her the actual gift but only after he got a laugh out of her getting excited and then seeing the 'present' inside. tbh he needs one of those "the real heroes" t-shirts sometimes XD

Main character would have his kidney's taken by the end of the month and his mother urgently needed lifesaving treatment. At least with the games, he'd have a chance. Also, although it ended in a single winner, that wasn't the aim. There could be multiple winners and the prize would be split. The last game was designed as a team game, not a one on one.

FYI, "my dog and I" is wrong about half the time. 1:13 is one such instance. In order to determine which is correct, "I" or "me"... cover up the " and" part. If "...my mom got I..." is correct, then ""...my mom got my dog and I..." is correct. If "...my mom got me..." is correct, then "...my mom got my dog and me..." is correct.

Favorite gift i ever gave to my sister: she had a pair of hand me down sweatpants that i hated. I told her to get rid of them and like a good sister, she didn't listen to me. When i suggested that i might throw them out, she said she would kill me. So i devised a plan. I bought her brand new pajamas in her favorite color. Then swiped the sweatpants. The sweatpants went into a plastic container then into a metal bucket which my dad filled with concrete. I gifted her the bucket with a chisel and hammer and also the mew pajamas. I didn't technically throw them away. She was dumbfounded, but amused. She still has the bucket
