I agree 100%. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed in CD’s attitude, when she hinted that she plays games. I wish people would just stop, and open themselves up to criticism and judgment. It’s not the worst thing there is. I don’t mean hurtful insults, I just mean that letting people see your insecurities and who you really are isn’t awful. We are all very similar and very different at the same time; seeing that somebody has insecurities like you can be rewarding. It can. Really... can’t it?... what?? What’d I say?.... are you mad at me?!....😜

7:20 every job deserves respect. Walmart workers worked through the pandemic. Miners gave their lives to save their community during the chernobyl disaster. My mom saved a senior in a medical emergency while delivering mail. When I worked at a pizza place, I saved a home from burning down and another time I walked to work when I was off because a storm took out power for several days in my area and the pizza place was the only place to get hot food in the area. I felt really good helping out even though I was only getting minimum wage. And don't sell yourself short, KZbinrs have helped me through the isolation of 2020. I love it here.

Yeah I had to explain this to my husband when we first started dating, he reached for my phone and my blood drained. My ex held me at gun point once over pictures of my hs sweetheart that had passed before I met him. I explained this to my husband and he was baffled, now we have the same passcode but he’ll only use my phone with my permission if he needs it and hands it back when he’s done he knows he can go through my phone whenever but he doesn’t, he knows my phone is a meme graveyard though.

Former service technician for a commercial energy management company here... the slits in the door panel are what provide airflow. Heat naturally rises, so a natural draft is created by the warmer air escaping from the top vents while drawing air in through the bottom vents. They help keep all that expensive equipment happy :) You could take the door off the hinges and overlay a zen-ish wall paper or something to match your other wall art (just dont block the vents).

About the phone thing. Freaking out because someone reached for your phone “even as a joke” doesn’t mean hiding something. Honestly plenty of people just find that incredibly disrespectful and a violation of trust, even if they themselves are 100% honest and faithful. Ask, don’t grab. Also, personally it freaks me out because people reaching for my belongings without permission is a big no no, call it trust issues but I’ve had stuff damaged from people “playing”

Exactly education should be accessed to everyone. Not just those who can go really hard. It's normal to not be 100% goof at everything and anything. Especially since lots of people have troubles in school because of ableism. Weather I did good in school or did bad, I deserve the right to go to college and expand my education. Theres literally no down side, if someone almost flunked high school, but they want to go to college to become more educated, then they should be able to go. Loans and how well you did in school gate keep education so much. Why must I be a prodigy to go to college for less. I also believe we need to let people go to school longer than the minimum time. Many colleges including community one require students to graduate in the least about of time, if you are not a full time student you will not be funded. Which keeps even more people from going. Hell even going to a class because you want to learn isn't allowed, I couldn't take an art class for fun with out paying 3,000 at my local community College. Lastly the cost for stuff for college is predatory, especially to those who technically don't meet the needs for financial aid. You really expect a 19 year old to pay 500 dollars on a used book or 300 dollars to rent it?
@carolinegrova8707
@carolinegrova8707 3 жыл бұрын
I first went to college in the early 80's, dropped out about 20 credits short of a degree and went back ten years ago. One three credit class ten years ago cost as much as I'd paid for a semester at a public university in the 80s. There's no reason for prices to have inflated so much. Worse yet, it's not like college professors make good salaries -- so where is all that money going??? Outsized college debt is a major reason why millennials are struggling to become established in their own homes. I'm not a millennial but I do feel for them. The economy in the mid-eighties (right after I left college) was bad but it wasn't THIS bad.

Free college isn’t going to happen to matter what politician is in office. You don’t have to go to college. You can get a trade skill or move up in a company. I can see making obtaining marketable skills free, but not feminist body positive gender studies
@Addipose
@Addipose 2 жыл бұрын
@@alexiakelley4245 I don’t think it so much needs to be free college per say, but affordable college. And while community colleges are generally more affordable, it’s still a lot for some people, especially those working a low paying job and barely making ends meet. While I agree not getting a college degree and moving up in a company could be an alternative, from what I’ve seen and experienced that’s a rarity. It works for some people but for a lot of others it just turns into a dead end job and a repeating cycle. And employers who actually pay yearly salaries or decent wages tend to want a bachelor’s degree nowadays (or at least prefer them), even for basic company positions. I do think it’s good that they’ve started doing loan forgiveness programs for some degrees, like for a lot of education majors. I think that is something that should become more common acrossed the board. Obviously with adequate provisions and requirements, but I think it would help a lot of people. I’m currently an elementary/special education major, and the pel grant I got is honestly the only reason I could afford to go back to college, so thankfully I don’t have to worry about loans yet. But I just feel like there has to be a better way to create the system. And I’m not by any means trying to be rude or start and argument. This is just 3 a.m. thoughts meant as friendly discussion :)

I once freaked out when my mother started going through my phone after I asked her to skip a song while I was driving. I, like many others, had nothing to hide. It was our agreement that when I got a phone my mom would be allowed to look through it every once in a while just to check up I guess. But the other side of that is that she had to ask me first or tell me she was going through my phone. I freaked out because she took advantage of a moment of trust that I gave her to change my music while I was incapable. If she would have asked if she could look through my phone s well I would have been fine with it. Idk, phones are just a private little world and people taking advantage to snoop around in it hurts.

Charlotte put up a wall vignette - the stick on ones. Some are words - a favorite poem or saying, some are florals and some are various scenes. It would put something in that space, NOT cover the vents and leave it looking better than just the vent door. I have to say, I agree with Ellie Sharps comment about the router(s) needing air flow, so I would discourage you from 'blocking' the vents with anything. Pt a frame around the 'edges' of the door, paint with chalk paint and you could put a different message on every day. OR.....assuming the door is 'metal' - you could make it a magnetic board and put up magnets in the shapes of things you love. There are all sorts of magnets you can buy - large and small - flowers, palm trees, tropical drinks, cars, animals, seasonal, holidays, etc. Just don't cover up the vents and you'll be fine. The vents will 'blend' in and no one will notice them.

I can see that, but sensitive information shouldn’t be easy to open if you are afraid of others knowing that stuff like how much money you have or something. Also that’s just extra security if your phone gets stolen. But freaking out will only make the other person suspicious. It gives me so much comfort that my bf leaves for work with his computer unlocked with his fb open on the screen and the chats open at the bottom and he gave me his password. I also know his phone password and he lets me go through and pick music while in the car or to respond to people for him or mute chats that’s are being too active. I also keep reminding him of my phone passwords cause he keeps forgetting and I want him to feel I’m being just as open and not have him afraid I’m hiding anything. He says he doesn’t care but I still want him to know. I also told him my laptop password and I let him go in and change my email password when he was setting me up with a Minecraft account for my birthday. I still have that password to this day cause he changed it to something sweet. But he is so forgetful lol Never remembers any of them. We have been together for 2 years and he still struggles to remember my birthday lol He is so bad with dates and passwords lol My point is, being open about those things makes your partner trust you even more and hopefully because of that trust never feels the need to snoop in the first place. I know I have never snooped on my bf’s stuff cause I trust him completely with how open and honest he is. I got suspicious once cause he kept hiding his screen while texting someone for a while and I got worried, turns out he set up a group chat to arrange a surprise birthday party for me a week before the quarantine started and I was afraid I wouldn’t get to celebrate. Afterwards he showed me the whole chat lol Being secretive with your phone makes people scared of what you may be hiding, especially when you are someone they should feel comfortable sharing anything with. But of course respect people’s belongings if they aren’t comfortable with it, just figure out if you are comfortable with them being secretive.

A lot of people also have their banking information on their phones, accounts that are currently signed into, or folders that contain all the passwords to every account or device they own... why in gods name would anyone trust someone to just snatch their phone and do as they please or look at whatever they please?? It doesn’t matter if they’re your bf/gf, husband/wife, friend, or your own flesh and blood... there are many cases of spouses, friends and family doing bad things with that information or that amount of access to your accounts/devices ESPECIALLY if they’re jealous, insecure, or have some sort of anger towards you Trust *someone else* with my phone that has my social accounts logged into and open so they can post or message whatever the heck they like to whomever the heck they like and *IIIIIIiiii* have to live with the social/financial/job consequences of it for the rest of my life? *I think not* Trust someone else to have access to my phone where they can make purchases or see private information that they can then give away if they get pissed at me for whatever reason or are vengeful because I broke up with them or refused to “take the next step” with them(marriage and/or sex)? *F*** *that!* Maybe it’s because i grew up with an unpredictable sister that I think about this stuff she’s my sister and I love her but her behaviors and mindset can flip like a switch I tell ya One minute she’s sweet as can be and the next minute she’s in an extreme fit of rage and out to destroy everything in sight(you, her, property, reputations, finances, bodily harm...) and then the next minute she’s crying and apologizing and then the next day she’s back to her sweet self She refuses to get help so everyone in my family has had to deal with this kinda “switch-flip” thing repeatedly I grew up with her so I’ve seen this all my life and know that there’s another side of the coin... but other people? I don’t know man 🤦‍♀️ ... new people come into her life(friends/bf’s, coworkers) and they see her sweet side and have no idea there’s a metaphorical bus coming to hit them in the near future Because of that, I often think “do you really ever truly know someone that you haven’t been around most your life? This person I’ve become friends/lovers with could totally have another side to them that’s capable of things beyond what I think they’d do/say to me and I just haven’t seen it yet because up til this point, I have made them happy, agreed with them on most everything, haven’t gotten into any big arguments with them, and maybe were still in the phase where they feel they have to be ‘super nice’ and ‘laugh at all my jokes’ or ‘hold in their farts’ so they’re not gonna let me see that side yet”... and for that reason, I wouldn’t just let somebody grab and/or go through my phone Everyone in my life does things like cover their hand as they’re typing their PIN number in the grocery store or at the atm or has password locks on their phones. I don’t take it personal or assume that they must be up to something. It’s just safety and privacy I understand how people could feel someone must be hiding something if they don’t want you looking at or grabbing their phone(though you shouldn’t be doing that without permission anyway since it doesn’t belong to you and probably just raises more red flags in the other persons head, making them think you’re the overly jealous/overly insecure type who will constantly create problems where there is none... causing a rift between you two till you eventually break up) but if you have suspicions just ask questions or ask if they can show you(it’ll probably upset the other person that you don’t trust them but it’s better than snatching or going through things without permission or behind someone’s back and making you’re self look crazy or like a giant red flag while you’re at it)

Trade schools and majors that actually have jobs available are being avoided. People will go 4 years knowing that their not going to be making 6 figures or even above poverty, with the degree they paid for so people need to actually look at the job markets and see what is the best option to be successful post college. Not to say NO one will get jobs within there field but today kids don’t make the best choices when it comes to degrees and then stuck with debt wanting others to pay for it bc of THEIR choices. That’s a big along with tuition but you see who’s charging the most and people keep paying for it so it won’t change unless of course the government comes saves you from the school YOU applied to and accepting knowing what they charge.

I have already decided that if my kids want to do traditional college I will do whatever I have to do to make sure they don't have to take out student loans. To cancel student debt means the tax payers foot the bill. My son is a tradesman, didn’t go to college but works physically hard for his money every day. So yes, if you choose to go into a high amount of debt and want it “canceled” you are slapping the people who made different choices and work very hard in the face.
@JM-gm1te
@JM-gm1te 3 жыл бұрын
@@vsand9798few things. People in college also work hard. That's how we get doctors, lawyers, chemists, like the literal researchers who created the COVID vaccine. So yes, even if your tradesmen son works hard. So does everyone else, and so many career paths require a degree, like idk what your saying? And if your son had kids who wanted to go to school, this problem can still effect him personally? Parents also can easily go into debt trying to help their kids with tution. Also, an extension into financial help for tradesschools is probs a better fight than saying everyone can drown. Lastly, while I don't give two shits if my taxes have to be raised, there are also other options? Like taxing the wealthiest part of america, when many pay nothing vs raising the average tax payer. literally, instead of raising taxes, funds could be rearranged. Like the estimate for the yearly cost of free 4 year schools in American is 80 billion. Our military budget is 686 billion. America is the 3rd most expensive country for schooling. Free school can give oppruntunities to people who came poor. Like me. So did I choose college and debt for no reason? No. Being trapped in menial labor is easy to do when you don't have shit growing up, I don't want people to keep not having school as an option. And I don't think the offense of following what you want to do should should make people indebted forever.

@@vsand9798 first of all have you ever looked at any billing from a higher education institution? They charge ridiculous amounts of money for things students don't need or utilize. Like sports medicine. A studeny majoring in basic education isn't going to utilize the sports medicine office, but they are charged for it anyway. Their meal plans are outrageous on top of that. And how do you figure canceling out college debt is going to hurt tax payers? Canceling means voiding, like it never existed. The only ones who will suffer are the colleges and loan companies that put people in these situations in the first place. Example: the college I worked for started out with school colors that were black and white. When they decided to purchase a charter bus, they went with gold and blue, because it was the cheaper bus. The college then had to repaint and redecorate the entire college, along with changing all of the uniforms, signs, pamphlets etc. This was before this specific school became a state college. Obviously most of these traditional colleges aren't hurting for the money they get for tuition etc.

I don’t have a problem with people getting financial aid so long as they’re responsible with it. My problem with canceling student debt is that many of the people I see complaining about it squandered their funds as students. They’re the ones who took out too many loans because they blew their money on drinking, vacations, etc. It’s a slap in the face for those of us who have worked to pay off our debt and scrimped as students when we hear those who didn’t complain about their debt. I’m not saying every person with student debt is like this, but I’ve known enough people who are and don’t deserve to have it erased. I also think that a lot of universities and colleges are overpriced and need to find a way to make degrees more affordable. But making it free, or just eliminating debt completely, is not the answer. Someone will always have to pay for it in the long run.

Then to pay for their college where they only learn racist sexist and how to hate everyone and everything. They learn how to have opinions and how to throw loud temper tantrum’s to get their way then send them out into the world with absolutely no useful skills whatsoever. You are perfectly fine paying for that crap….perhaps if you want to take useless classes that are just propaganda machines they should pay for them themselves. Now if you want to learn a trade skill or even basic life skills like balancing a damn checkbook I say take the money people are demanding in debt forgiveness and boost financial aid and grants for these skill based classes because that is what is going to get you farther in life than the skill of throwing yourself on the floor throwing a screaming temper tantrum like a 4 year old cracked out on pixie stix not getting their way. Sorry but opinions and bigotry do not pay your rent. Hell let them rely on mommy and daddy forever since they were the ones that created these overly entitled infants. They can reap what they sewed and raise their obnoxious spoils brats and pay for their leftist sjw indoctrination classes forever. Charlotte - that door IS a vent! You said your routers and stuff all go in there right? Those all produce heat as they are turned on and must have a decent amount of air flow in order to NOT overheat, so do not cover up those vent slits you see in the door. My suggestion? Paint it! Paint a picture of something on that door and if you do it right you won't even be able to tell it's a door! EDIT - Hey I got to thinking as the video went on, you could put something over the vent to cover it, so long as you only have it on while you are recording and then remove it once you are done recording. I still like my first idea of you painting something over it, that way it will give you an opportunity to be creative and show us what you got.

So let me get this straight ~ it would be a slap in the face to forgive student debt to everyone who already paid their debt, or who worked to earn the tuition before going to school? Does that mean that universal healthcare so that every can be taken care of is a slap in the face to anyone who died because they couldn't afford to go to a doctor? Maybe we can just accept that our education (and healthcare) system is classist and elitist and that it needs to be fixed to make it more affordable for everyone going forward.

Understandably we were all very upset about this, and it's going to be switched back in 2023, but it does mean that 8 years of students (about 1 million) is left with debts. There is airflow to your router etc., in order to keep the heat down. They all produce a lot of heat. I’d go with something minimalist and modern to go with the shelving. It needs to be something that breathes. There are breathable panels for radiators. You could put fabric in a white, modern frame, or over a wooden frame. With the light string, it is already getting busy back there and detracting from the lovely shelving and plants. I wouldn’t recommend a “tapestry”, as it would be too busy and a contrast to the clean look you have going.

@@vsand9798 short-sighted take for at least two reasons: 1) If education is free for anyone to pursue, those hard-working construction workers could go back to school and get a degree to become even higher-wage earners. 2) Extensive research shows higher-educated populations have lower crime rates, lower poverty rates, higher standards of living, and higher overall health and well-being amongst their populations. So, paying for my fellow citizens to become better educated is as much benefit to me as it is to them. The same way we pay for roads and infrastructure, even though we don’t use every bit of it ourselves.

@@Rolbell actually it’s you that is short sighted. Please tell me who’s going to build your home? Who’s going to install that toilet you sit on while watching KZbin videos? Tradesmen actually do very well. My son is 23 years old with two children. He bought a house more than a year ago, he supports his wife and children. She does not have to work. If you want to steal his wages for your college education and your children’s college education. Why don’t you just act responsibly and pay your bills like he does? @Rolbell
@Rolbell 3 жыл бұрын
@@vsand9798 I’ve clearly touched a nerve. It’s the way politicians and media want things: everyone reads waaaay too much into simple interactions and gets pushed to anger with basic presentations of information. I never referenced your children, as I wouldn’t know anything about the makeup of your family. I referenced research that clearly links lower education opportunities with lower quality of life. That is a sociological observation, not a personal one. Saying “societies with lower education levels have higher crime rates, higher instances of untreated mental health and lower overall well-being” is NOT the same as saying “anyone without a college education is a miserable criminal with mental health issues.” I said the first thing; I DID NOT say the second. It’s the irony that goes with the ideological polarization that’s so rampant in this country these days: people like me who want EVERYONE’S life to be better are presumed to be disdainful of others for their education or career choices. I’m not. To clarify another misinterpretation of yours: I am a veteran who worked in the trades, got a college education that I paid for myself, and am now in a position where my family and I would likely pay far more in taxes to support publicly funded college than your children would. And I’d gladly do it. Believe it or not, there are some of us who are willing to pay more to ensure others get the same opportunities we’ve had.

@@I.Toverheks for women? Guess I'm not visiting your country then. I'm 170 and considered quite tall for a woman in Italy, I don't want to feel like an elf 😂

Hi Charlotte. I just wanted to respond to the mask comment. First of all, it is uncomfortable wearing a mask for any length of time, if you are wearing it correctly. Also, if people have asthma, or other underlying medical issues, it can feel like you’re being suffocated or about to pass out. That being said, it isn’t entirely impossible for most people to wear them. It is important to remember kindness. I have held many a patient’s hand when they were begging me to help them breathe better. As a nurse, you want to help people feel better and it hurts when you can’t. We really have no idea what people have been through or are experiencing at any given moment. But I urge people to love and support each other. Thanks Charlotte!

Asthma and anxiety make it impossible to wear a mask. Within minutes I can’t breathe, shaking and end up crying
