The dad in the last story is 100% correct, as someone who lives with three dogs in her family, yes I'm a girl as well as kyutie here, I don't think the parents of dog owners/people related in any way or not, should be responsible for your furchild. A puppy/kitten is a lot of responsibility.

The final story with the dog reminded me of the time my stepfather compromised to let me keep Tiger, my first cat. He disliked cats at the time. The deal was that Tiger would be my responsibility, except if I'm staying over at my dad's place for a weekend, or if I go to church camp, etc. I managed to keep my end of the deal. Over the years though, he grew to love Tiger. Sadly, my cat is no longer with us. It took me 2 years before I felt ready enough to get another cat, and he was quick to love her this time. I guess my 1st cat melted my stepfather's heart or something.

1st Story: I think there's a case of selective hearing and subsequent misinformation on the play here. Is there an instance where OP stated clearly that she's her boyfriend? Did those girls hear it but choose not to acknowledge it? And what's with the DMs next morning demanding him to apologize? Why would he apologize? Why didn't the person who DMed him explain the clear, whole situation to the girls? Is it that inconvenient or are they just stubborn? There are my questions. 2nd Story: I agree with Kyutie here, why does every single fricking time these brides turn into nasty, controlling, detail-obsessive POS in their own weddings? What's the big deal if someone who has the right to label themselves as non-binary and therefore not confined by subsequent gender norms wears shorts underneath what would be a passable feminine romper? Why make a big deal out of it? Honestly, I'm convinced the bride did this for some petty crap, even when they knew OP is autistic so this might be some fucked-up ploy to hurt them. Don't be hung up on that OP, the bride is a huge POS in the ass and you didn't do anything wrong, it's them, not you. 3rd STtory: yes, no words there, he did the right thing. His daughter didn't extend any invites to HIS family, as a fucked-up way of making sure her already cracked rose-tinted glasses of a perfect, complete family won't shatter, but it did, and the question is, why would she invite her mom and HER family but not invite OP and HIS family? Honestly, OP did the right thing by declining the invitation. 4th Story: Okay WTF, this whole situation just triGGering HOLY GEEZ. OP's wife and her mum are the assholes here and also POS if I'm tbh because what they did to the dog is extremely irresponsible and disappointing! I'm glad it's to be rehomed now because staying in that family is a fricking death wish, and props to the OP for again, doing the right thing.

I actually don’t think the first story is selective hearing.. I agree with Kyutie - that’s the conclusion I came to as well. I feel like getting confirmation from somebody other than OP would’ve been ideal, or OP showing them proof that that’s his girlfriend because they were clearly trying to protect her. Nobody fights that hard to defend no one, I don’t blame him either but damn. They both had good reason to do what they did so I actually don’t blame either of them, the reason I’m saying it’s probably not selective hearing is because if you’re suspected of being a kidnapper - then convincing others would be really tough. Even if they heard what he said they would have no reason to believe him, they did the safe thing but it ended up being wrong..

We know, it's not you. It's just that it is so incredibly common for women to be raped while drunk. So we ladies automatically look out for each other. Whenever I see a young woman in a setting where a man is clearly making her uncomfortable, or she is the only woman, my radar turns on. We don't want to assume the worst about people, but we unfortunately have to at first to stay safe. Thousands of women are raped every day, many under the influence. (Men are also rape victims, i'm just speaking on why women react the way we do.) Please don't take offense, it's not you. It's the sickos that ruin it for the good guys. The only thing those girls saw was a clearly intoxicated woman being dragged to a man's car. I would've done the same thing. I'm sure you're really cool, but you have to take into consideration the uneasiness we experience every day. Whenever we feel something is off, our minds automatically go to 'how can I defend myself if he makes a move.' Ignoring catcalls can get you followed (it's happened to me). Simply saying no gets women killed. So yeah, we are very defensive of ourselves and other women. We look out for each other. We don't hate men, we're just anxious and prepared for situations like that because they're so commonplace and we've just accepted that.

story 3: I feel like more info on daughter/bride's relationships with both parents was needed, as well as reason for divorce, as it could provide the reason she invited her mom's bf and kids but not OP's wife and kids. I'm guessing it could be 1) she was a daddy's girl and was deeply hurt her dad allowed their family to seperate which only made it harder when she saw her dad moving on with stepmom therefore always held a grudge against stepmom for this, 2) she was closer to the mom and after harboring more hate towards stepmom and her kids, she might've been more willing to accept a new man in her mom's life cause she wants mom to be happy, or maybe even 3) she thinks something bad happened that was kept from her, like an affair, and she thinks dad is to blame, esp since according to OP, all she knew was that they were a happy family and suddenly her parents were divorcing out of the blue. story 4: "they got upset with me bc the dog likes me and its obviously my dog" no, absolutely not. taking care of something/someone is different than loving them. teachers and parents both take care of kids, kids learn things from them, depend on them for certain things, but the love teachers and parents hold for that kid is different; for teachers, its an obligation, sometimes it turns to genuine care, but for a parent they care out of genuine love for their child, its not the same. They think the dog is his bc the dog likes him?? of course it seems that way bc theyve been ignoring the dog, if they were the primary caretakers before neglecting his care, i bet if they started showing that attention again, the dog would happily show more affection to them than the dad. "of course the thing likes me, i take care of it. which i dont want to do." fair point. it might make people mad to hear OP refer to the dog as a thing, but it just goes to show how detached he is to the dog, and knows his heart isnt in it when taking care of the dog. taking care of the dog doesnt sound like caring for a member of the family, it sounds like a chore no one wants to do anymore, which is just sad for the dog. OP is right in offering the dog to be rehomed with his friend who does like dogs.

My kid’s dad decided to get fish (2 giant fish tanks) and a cat then rather than taking care of then decided he’s just going to forget they exist. I like animals but I’m allergic to the kitty and the fish tanks have to be cleaned almost daily and I never agreed to this- I straight up said “if you bring them in my home, you will be taking care of them because I already work, cook, clean, take care of the kids, take care of my brother’s rabbit, and pay all the bills. If I have to spend all day cleaning up the hair I’m allergic to and the fish tank that’s smelling up my work area, I won’t have enough time to work.” So, I’ve been taking care of all those animals he promised to take care of for two years now and we’re becoming impoverished because I had my schedule perfectly timed to deal with the house/kids/work/school, but now my schedule cannot work or the animals will suffer and although I didn’t want them I do respect them as much as I respect the lives of humans. The girlfriend was completely drunk and in no state to defend herself, any guy could easily say “oh yeah that’s my girlfriend I’m just going to take her home”. Luckily in this case it was the truth but still better safe than sorry. In any other case the girlfriend would have been another unfortunate story on the news.

Tons of people use the, "that's my gf/bf" line on people they have drugged to make themselves look innocent. While it's not the girls' fault for being persistent about taking his girlfriend home they could have asked for proof, such as a picture of the two of them together or something. The boyfriend also wasnt at fault at all because he was telling the truth and in this situation he really is her boyfriend just tryna get her home.

Agreed there was two why not have one keep harassing the poor guy and another go inside and make a fuss, like really strangers danger is a thing yes but defending it that girls protect girls are masking the fact that girls can be vicious bullies to other girls and criminals themselves, he doesn't need to apologize for being a bf to his drunk girlfriend and crusaders getting it wrong, like if they were really serious or concerned why not record his face by filming him, call security, or other party goers also this interloper-Karen that was at the party and heard it through the gossip vine has no place ordering others because "they were justified to act like that thinking a guy helping a drunk girl means r*pist".... only the girlfriend can be the judge of how he handle it and we don't even know her reaction to all this.

First sorty: No A-holes Here -The guy was trying to keep his drunk girlfriend away from strangers(to him) and she was too drunk to recognize or not the others. She couldn't even walk on a straight line, so of course he's not gonna "hand her over". -The other two were trying to help a girl in need. There's just so many stories out there about guys putting something in a girl's drink, and pretending to be with her to get her out of there. A lady just can't be careful enough, and it's hard to believe one person when the other can't even stand up and confirm or deny the story. (Like that other reddit story: a girl went to a bar with her friends a got a little tipsy. In her drunken state she saw a man grab a girl's butt, so she went straight to fight mode and sreamed a the guy. Then the lady calmed her down and said: "That's my husband, don't worry, I agreed to it!". So yeah) -Both should apologize: I believe the girls should apologize first, and take accountability for not believing the dude. They chose the safest option to believe she was in danger and tried to help, instead of living with a burden of not knowing what happened to that girl. And the dude should apologize for the "rudness", but the world is not perfect where everything can be solved right away with a dialog. His girlfriend was drunk, and there were strangers wanting to take her away, he couldn't let her go in that state with girls he never met, because he also can't be sure of their true intentions either.

Exactly. Just because they were girls don't mean anything. They were strangers. What sane person is going to let their loved one go off with strangers just because they are the same gender? What got me is the girls got on social media demanding an apology. What was that all about? Were they out there trying to pick a fight so they can brag on social media that the "saved" a fellow woman? The behavior sounds like "karens".

In relation to the last story, my family and I live in Texas, but I didn't move here with them. I stayed in Washington state with my grandfather for awhile. During the time that I was staying with my grandfather my family got a dog. P PREGNANT stray dog. She had 7 or 8 puppies. Then I move in with them again and they're all still there. Eventually they give away all of thr puppies but 2. Eventually 1 of the puppies that we kept passed away because of a brain issue he was born with. So now we just have 1 of the little girls and her mom. My parents are the main ones that have to take care of them despite the fact they were supposed to be for my SIBLINGS but my siblings really don't take care of them much until our parents threaten to give them away too. They're predominantly out door dogs and stay in a dog house in our moderate sized backyard. No one really takes them out for walks because they were VERY much a handful when my older sister and I tried to take them on one. But I've taken care of them too, and they're not even really my dogs, as my family got them before I moved in. But they have a problem with barking at our neighbors dogs or even just barking in the middle of the night when people are trying to sleep. Sometimes we bring then inside and try to put then in a medium sized carrier, but they get restless and have to go outside again. Our neighbors have threatened to call the police if we don't get them under control. My parents are VERY ready to get rid of them. Most likely take them to a shelter or something. I honestly don't care because they didn't get the mom for me, but my younger siblings are the ones who still want them. So HOPEFULLY they'll take care of them and give them more attention than they do.

About the first story. These women causing a scene weren't real friends or else they would've known her boyfriend. They are the ones who should apologize for acting like they were besties of the girlfriend when they were just trying to harm her. Seriously the audacity they have
@pandorasangelxx
@pandorasangelxx Жыл бұрын
You completely misunderstood the whole situation. Those women saw that a man was putting a drunk girl into his car. They thought that he was trying to kidnap her so they pretended to be the girlfriend's friends in order to protect her. They weren't trying to harm her AT ALL. It was the complete opposite. This is something that women were taught to do when another woman is drunk and they think she is in danger of being kidnapped by a man; we pretend to be that woman's friend in order to get the potential kidnapper to back off and get her out of that situation. Obviously, in this case, OP was actually her boyfriend and was just trying to get her home safely, but those women didn't know that. He did say that he was her boyfriend, but how could they have known he was telling the truth?

First story: I don't understand why people drink to get drunk. I think the girls are lying. They should have asked if they were asked if they were boyfriend girlfriend. Picking a fight is not how you help someone. Everybody saw them come to the party together. The only thing I don't like was that he was driving even though he was drinking. Why would the guy trust his drunk girlfriend to two rando girls just because they are girls? Trust goes both ways. Why was she even demanding an apology? Shouldn't she be the one to apologize? That's the clencher. Definitely getting "Karen" vibes. Second story: That's a pretty romper. I didn't know they come fancy. I've seen plenty of pants that look like dresses, and I love them. Third story: Applause to Pops. He did the right thing. The daughter is being a jerk and hypocrite. Why does she love her stepdad so much if she wanted her parents to get back together? Did she think her dad would get jealous when her mom got remarried? He is literally behaving as an adult should be. The bride needs to grow up and go back to therapy. Fourth story: I agree with Kutie and the husband. The wife is just as immature and irresponsible as the kids. Shameful.

Those women were just trying to protect her because they thought she was being kidnapped. That's why they pretended to be her friend. This is what women are taught to do when another woman appears drunk and we think she is being kidnapped. It's for safety. There are many cases of a man pretending to be a a woman's boyfriend while she is drunk/drugged and will take her home with him to do awful things to her. And yes, obviously women are capable of doing bad things as well. Nobody is denying that. But in that moment, all they were thinking is that they were helping another woman who they thought was in danger. Nobody in this situation was in the wrong. I do agree, though, that OP doesn't need to apologize because he didn't understand what was going on and was just trying to get his girlfriend home. Those women should have realized their mistake and apologized to him, instead, for the misunderstanding. Also, there is a possibility that those women didn't go to the party and didn't know they were together.

For the first story I really think the bf should apologise. I don't think the girls would've been "convinced she was their friend" or whatever and more concerned about her so claimed that in hopes it'd make him back off cus they don't know who he is and are just trying to look out for other girls. It's what we have been taught to do to survive as girls. He shouldn't yell at them and instead be grateful he can count on others to look out for his gf cus it could have just as easily been a random dude trying to take her. They have no way of knowing if he's her bf. For the second one first off that person is so transphobic I wouldn't even want to associate with them and even if it didn't look like a dress or still shouldn't be a big problem. Why do people feel like their weddings is their chance to be a d*ck to people smh. For the last one the daughter did NOTHING WRONG. It is not hypocritical to not invite people YOU DON'T LIKE TO YOUR WEDDING. If she gets along with the mums new bf ect that's great but she doesn't have to get along with her dad's ones as well. She's also allowed to be upset cus it is quite sad her dad isn't coming to her own wedding but he still can say no obviously. She can choose who she wants to come and if he doesn't want to then he doesn't have to but he also can't be surprised if she stops talking to him. Also this perfectly shows why she doesn't like them, she feels like she is second to their family as this post shows. He clearly likes his new family more then her and has little regard for her feelings. It's no shock she doesn't like the dad's new family. Also it's clear the dad understands this which is why he was only asking about if he was wrong to decline the invitation, I think there's more we weren't told. For the last one this is lowkey animal abuse by the rest of the family. It's so sad how often it happens where people buy an animal and once its no longer young they ditch it and that's coming from someone who also doesn't like animals. It's their responsibility so they need to figure it out. The OP has already done sm to even find a new home cus they clearly can't take care of an animal. An animal isn't just another toy you can disregard and only use when you feel like. It's a commitment and one the family clearly wasn't ready for.
