I worked in a pizza place when I met my husband. He used to come join me for dinner. He ordered a large jalapeno pizza one night. He asked for extra jalapenos because the last one didn't have enough. My coworkers decided to see if he was "man enough" for me. They put them edge to edge over the entire pizza. They brought it out with a smirk and stood back. Then their jaws dropped over the next half hour. He hadn't eaten all day, and he ate every bite. Said it was the best pizza he ever had. After that, he would order "edge to edge" jalapenos. And they would make them.

In college I worked at a Pizza Hut. Management allowed us one free personal pan sized pizza per shift, so as poor students we naturally tried to fit about an entire days worth of calories onto those precious 6 inches. I routinely consumed pizzas that had a minimum of 2 inches of toppings heaped on over 3 or 4 layers. The hard part was cooking it so that it wasn't all raw underneath the top layer; the trick is to partially cook the bottom layer, pull it out, and then add the upper layers. It would get absolutely soaked in grease, which today gives me heartburn just thinking about it, but back then with my 19 year old digestive system I enjoyed it that way. After working there for a year and a half though I couldn't even look at pizza for years, although today I'm back to enjoying the occasional more normally proportioned pie.

@@recoveringsoul755 It's funny, I was actually kind of thinking about this during the holidays. Time goes on, you build a career, your life gets more comfortable, but one of the things I enjoy the most about it all is when I'm doing the household shopping and I don't have to worry about the food bill. Fresh cut fruit? Sure, I'm in the mood for it. Those nice deli dogs instead of Oscar Myer, why not? It's such a minor thing really, but I grew up poor, I was poor in college, and I started doing a little better after college but it still took years to get my first promotions and whatnot before things really changed. And after all of that, where I notice it the most is not having to mentally add my basket up in my head at the register to avoid the embarrassment of having to put things back.

As a ex pizzahut employee I can say people like this DO EXIST I made a big new yorker which is a basic large handtoss pizza stretched to add 2-4 more inches of pizza (dough) and basically they asked for exactly 96 pepperonis and well. I gave them what they wanted and they were happy one of the craziest order I got was a personal pan pizza (the smallest pizza you can get about 6 inches in diameter ) but they wanted it to be a SUPER SUPREME with every single topping we had. And we had 36 to choose from some being steak, jalapenos, bell peppers, chicken, meatballs, pineapple, and black olives. Needless to say both pizza were monstrosities but the customers were happy 🤷‍♂️ (for those curious a big new yorker is 16 inches long 1 foot and 4 inches.)

I used to work at a pizza place, we had a reuben pizza that we would make with pizza sauce. Had a customer call and ask to have it sauced with the 1,000 island. This has been done before, and the mayo in the dressing does not like to be in the pizza oven for the 30-40 mins it takes to cook, and will come out tangy/funky. The customer insisted that that is what they wanted. A few mins after getting the pizza they called, and wanted their money back. They did not get their money back. That was what they wanted

When I was a toddler, my mom made a request that I only use a section of 4 pieces of toilet paper to prevent waste. I decided I would be prepared for next time as well as help everyone else. I used to work at Wendy's, like 30 years ago, and knew how to order from there. Going through the drive through in the particular Wendy's that I used to work at, I ordered my usual burger with extra extra pickles and mustard. I hadn't been there in years and the window cashier tried to argue with me, so I asked for the manager. The manager assured me that they could make my burger to request. I'm pretty sure the kitchen was upset because it wasa mountain of pickles , sloppy with mustard, and absolutely perfect for me. I was pregnant and that was exactly what I wanted 😂😂😂

You may as well ask the customer "would you like any pizza with your pepperoni?" lol. Was the onions in your case the same deal? Or I have another idea, next time someone asks you to place an ungodly amount of onion on their pizza, just throw a whole onion onto each area of their pizza that one can be fit onto it. To be fair, onions are the one topping they never put enough of on pizza. But I've learned that if I order extra onion, they get all smartassy about it and put a ridiculous amount. Why the hell can't they just add a few more, like they would with literally every other topping? Last time I tried it, they put so many it was inedible, even for me, and I love onions. It was so much that they couldn't even all get cooked but they cooked enough water out to make it soaking wet. You couldn't even pick up a slice, it was so wet. I generally won't complain if something is a bit off but I couldn't even eat the damn thing. No way was I going hungry after spending 30 bucks plus tip.

One time however, I wrote "extremely light sauce" in my online order. Know what I got? A pizza with only a dab of sauce on one slice. The rest was bread, cheese, pepperoni, and a garlic coating on the crust. Tasted so good that I straight up ask them to not include sauce at all now.

In the past, including at Pizza Hut, I've noticed that they call the topping hamburger, but at other pizzerias, they just call it ground beef. If you ever work at a pizzeria where they call ground beef hamburger, and someone asks you to be very generous with the hamburger toppings, just unwrap a hamburger from McDonald's or somewhere and lay it on the pizza, and unwrap several of them and place them all around the pizza. Theres probably room to place about 7 or 8 McDonald's quarter pounders on a large pizza (6 circled around the inner edge, and 1 or 2 in the center). And when handing it to the customer, tell them "Here's your large pizza, I was very generous with the hamburger toppings like you asked". Now that's taking things literally 😂😂😂

There is always 1-5 muffins stuck to the mixing bowl, depending how big the bowl is... but very few chips compared to batter... a more experienced baker would add a handful of chips to the end of each batch to account for this. It looks like he just sprinkled some on top... but that doesn't get into the muffin it floats.

They used an entire roll of paper towels to gently blot the excess olive oil from each individual tin of anchovies. They fit 10 tins (about 50 anchovy filets) on 1 16-inch hand-tossed pizza. I have never been so happy to pay 60 bucks for 1 pizza. The only reason they did it for me is because I've been eating there for 20 years, religiously.

I always put a ton of extra cheese and extra pepperoni on the shop- bought ones you cook yourself, transforms them into a REALLY decent thin and crispy/stone-baked pizza! 3 or 4 of those with a few glasses of wine and you had a good night! 😉👌 And extra pickles on McD is a must! I love pizza loaded with pepperoni, but the one at 2:44 looks a bit too much even for me. I don't like pizza with only a couple of thin pepperoni slices where you can't even taste it it's so sparse, you might as well just have a cheese topping (Little Ceasars has been an example of that). You must get a good pepperoni flavor from a pizza which you can't get with too little pepperoni. But there is eventually a limit the other way too. A good pepperoni pizza needs to have a rich pepperoni taste but as part of a combo of flavors. You still need to also be able to taste the cheese, sauce, and bread at least a little bit, but with this dragon scale pizza, it appears that you'd only be tasting pepperoni. The best balance is a pizza where there's plentiful enough pepperonis where there's little to no cheese visible (but still is cheese under them, of course), but the pepperonis are laid flat instead of bunched up so tightly together all propped up like with the dragon scale. Overlapping the pepperonis a little would still make it good. As for the cheese, there must be enough to where you get a good stretchy string whenever pulling a slice out of the pie. Some places don't do that and skimp on the cheese too, almost make it to where you're tasting mainly bread and nothing else. The same almost all bread taste can also come from skimping on the sauce as well (and definitely when both are sparse). Good pizzerias know how to make the perfect combinations of crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings. They don't go to extremes overboard but they also are not lacking. Many New York pizzerias are good at getting just the right balances on their pizzas, a good reason why the pizza there is so good. Higher quality ingredients is another good reason

7:00 I still remember the first time I ever cooked with garlic as a kid, the recipe called for 2 cloves of garlic. However, being the first time I ever used it, I didn't know there was a difference between a clove of garlic and a head of garlic. Can you see where this is going? Well, that night, instead of cooking with 2 cloves of garlic, I cooked with 2 heads of garlic. OK, so it doesn't completely relate to the theme of the video, but it does relate to the whole, having too much garlic theme of the time stamp.

This makes me think of the time i went out with my cousins to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar one night. Everyone ordered intricate burgers while i ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich. Now, you would think that the cooks wouldnt have a problem with making a grilled cheese, right? Sadly, you would be wrong. Everyone elses burgers came out right, but when mine came out, i got 2 pieces of toast.... even when the waitress saw what had happened, she was even baffled by what i was given to eat. It was by far the most bizarre and most hilarious dinner experience ive ever dealt with 😂

So do I! --And you're right! Very few pizza places use Un-ripened olives--just the ripe olives. However, there is a place in Southwest Iowa that uses green olives. They make a pretty good pizza, too. Another "sin of dietary omission" is the . . . anchovy. Nothing better than an anchovy pizza. There's a place in Williams, Arizona which has anchovy pizza on the menu. I stopped there in 2010 simply by happenstance at the noon hour traveling to California. I even told them, this was the first time I'd seen this selection in over 40 years! Ordered it. Great pizza place just across from the Grand Canyon Railroad Train station. Worth your stop.

Same ! One year, I lived as an exchange student in Spain (in Andalucía) and the kind family I was living with lived close to a big centuries old olive grove. Let me tell you that the tomatoes and olives we often ate were so fresh I thought I had reach paradise (in my dreams, paradise still looks like Spain). And the closeby freshly pressed picual olive oil !!! By Jove, it was so good that it would taste like liquid gold (metaphorically speaking) on each single slices of the local bakers' loaves of bread warming my soul like the sun in winter !!! N.B. Ever since I came back home, I never ate any cheap sliced bread or cheap olive oil from this eternal journey on. Still today, I go to my local baker to buy real bread with no sugar and additives whatsoever and pay more money to get real olive oil (the picual, the better like I say XD) or ask specifically for green olives for my pizzas (when they offer it). Anyway, nothing beats fresh green olives untouched by chemicals !

When I was in high school I worked at a Papa Murphy’s, we measured every ingredient that went on to our pizzas so one day a lady online ordered in a Hawaiian with 6 extra scoops of pineapple. I had to make that pizza and after about 4 scoops I looked at my manager with concern because I still needed to put 3 more scoops and but the pizza was already over flowing! He told me to put the last 3 scoops so I did… if you didn’t know Papa Murphy’s is a take and bake place so we don’t bake the pizzas in house you have to take it home to cook it… I can’t even imagine how long that pizza took to cook or how soggy it probably was! The lady looked happy when she picked it up though, that thing was heavy!

With that much pepperoni, it's so greasy it's gross. And with an inch of black olives on top, it's not going to even taste like pizza anymore, just tangy salt. If that's all you want to taste then save the 20 bucks and just buy a can of black olives. What makes pizza so good is the balance of flavors- crust, cheese, sauce and toppings. If you put a ridiculous amount of anything on that, it will no longer taste like the pizza you enjoy. Especially the pepperoni- as I said, it would just drip grease down your arm and face and that's all you'd taste. Might as well just go buy a pack of pepperoni at the store instead.

My local McDonald's used to put a tiny amount of tartar sauce on my fish sandwich, I'd always have to ask for double, then eventually triple, then I eventually had to say drown it in it because they never added even double. One guy actually did drown it, tarter under it, over it, all around it... The patent asked if it was what I want and I said no but was flat someone finally listened. I used the extra tarter on the fries. I hear it's popular in Europe. I eventually started asking for tarter on the side in a container which worked well for everyone until they poisoned someone by giving them old tarter that they left out.

My trick for extra ice cream at fast food places was to say something like this: Scene is inside McDonald's at the ordering counter. Me: You know, Dairy Queen says that they can stack a cone higher than you. Employee without saying a word stares at me for about five seconds while they process what I said....and then understand it as a challenge. They then proceed over to the soft-serve machine with cone and proceed to make a cone that after about 10 inches in height and a larger diameter than normal the woman panics and cries out, "Someone bring my a cup, quick!" Me - smiling ear to ear as I pay regular price for a cone and receiving a cone that was so large that they had to tip it over into the largest soda cup, thus I get close to a quart of soft serve with a cone on top served in the large soda cup. Only one time did I get someone in trouble and wow, that manager was terrible about it and yelled in front of customers at the employee rather than dealing with it after her shift.
